More Swaps!

Good Saturday morning everyone! Two more swaps to show you today!

The first card was made by Pat Sergeant. She actually entered twice and made two different cards. You'll see the other card later. Isn't the paper and ribbon just gorgeous?! I love the font on the 'happy fall' saying! Also, isn't it neat how she used the ticket corner punch on just the top two corners of the pumpkin? For some reason I feel like when I use my punch that I have to punch all four corners. Also, in case you can't tell from the picture the card has a neat layout. It is almost like a reverse tent card. I'm blanking on how to explain it to you but it is really neat. The entire inside has the plaid paper and then a square piece of vanilla cardstock to write the note on. Very nice!

The second card is from Lorrie Brewer. The picture really does not do this card justice! Lorrie put so many elements into this card. She has a cuddlebugged background, embossing on the pumpkin, sponging, spotlight coloring, brads, designer paper, and ribbon. And the colors are all just gorgeous! One of the things that is neat about her card is that I never would have thought of that stamp!

Come back tomorrow to see more of the entries!!!

Want a preview?

Good morning everyone! I was thinking you guys might like a little preview of the swap cards from my fall/Halloween Prize swap. Yes? No? Okay...I'm going to pretend everyone is saying yes! Here you go!

As most of you know my husband, Todd, is a stamper, too. I talked him into being in this swap as Debby said if Todd would do it she would take another spot and that would fill up the last group. How could I say no for my husband? LOL! Anyway, he had this card in his head from the beginning. What he did was took one of those pumpkin carving templates (do you know what I'm talking about?) and reduced the size on our printer. Then he took SU!'s craft and hobby knife and cut the template out after which he placed it on Whisper White cardstock and sponged Pumpkin Pie ink all around it. To make it look like a pumpkin he just cut the Whisper White in a pumpkin shape, made a stem (that he sponged with garden green ink) and then placed clear baubles on the pumpkin's eyes. Finally he heat embossed some bats on the black background. Inside the card it says Happy Halloween! Isn't that just the neatest card? We also talked about how cutting out a large circle and making it into a moon with the trick or treaters would have been neat too. I am so proud of him for thinking outside the box for his card! Anyway, hope you like this sneak preview!

Tonight is the first night back for Kids In Christ at my church. Kyler is excited because he loves KIC, I'm excited because we are not only starting with a new schedule but we have two college aged kids (Cody and Kelly) helping out this year. The kids come at 6:00 and eat dinner with each other, play games, and have a lesson time. All in all it is a great time! We don't have a cook for this evening so I'm going to get pizza's at our Papa Murphy's and bake them. Yay! Too much fun!

I hope you all have a fantastic day! :o)

Wow!

Take the girl out of the routine and she is sunk! I can't believe I have forgotten to post so far today! I usually do it first thing but something else caught my attention and the poor blog was forgotten! Sheesh, Lorie!

Anyway, here is a fun Bella card that I did a couple of weeks ago. I just got retailfellabella and love it! That couple is a miniature Todd and me! teehee! I thought I'd try some paper that was more masculine but I'm not sure that I succeeded. Oh, well! I would love to tell you what I used to make this card but because it isn't all SU! frankly...I don't remember! I used my Copic Markers to color Mr Fella and Mrs Bella (they have to be married in my world!). I used some Taffeta ribbon for the saying at the bottom. Speaking of the saying isn't that funny? Does anyone get my humor on this? I'm sure Mr. Fella is thinking too much more 'together' time and we'll be broke while Mrs. Bella is thinking I just love spending 'together' time with my Mr. Fella! Okay, so am I a dork!

Anyway, hope your Wednesday has been just fantastic! Happy day!

Tell me something...

Tell me something ladies...do you still pause on this day and think of the devastation that we, as a nation, went through? I sure do. Maybe it is because my perspective is from the military point of view. I'm not sure but...

For all of those that lost their lives on that day and have personally sacrificed while defending us we will never forget... Where were you?

Boo!

Remember I told you that I was trading for the new Autumn Apparitions set? Well, I played with it a little bit yesterday! What a fun set that is! At first, I wasn't sure if I could do anything with it but I just chose a sketch and made this card! Oh...can I just tell you that I LOVE this card! All of the elements and different colors just make this so cute...I think! I had to use retired Halloween paper on this one BUT I'm getting my NEW Halloween paper today so I'll be making another one or two of these later today!

I am still missing a couple of entries for the Fall/Halloween card swap so if you don't have yours in yet please let me know where you are in the mailing process! The cards are absolutely wonderful so far!

Prize Card Swap and Retired Sets For Sale

The information for the fall/Halloween Prize Card Swap can be found HERE! Also, see the retired sets I have for sale HERE.

Remember the due date for the swap cards to arrive to me is SEPTEMBER 11th! If you haven't mailed your swap yet please e-mail me and let me know! Thanks!

Dance, Dance

What can keep two 4th grade boys busy for three hours? Apparently, VeggieTales version of Dance, Dance Revolution. VeggieTales calls it Dance, Dance, Dance but it is the same thing. This game hooks up to your computer (I used the laptop in the kitchen for optimal room on the hard floor...tee hee!) and plays family friendly VT songs so you don't have to worry about what they are hearing! The boys had just played DDR at school when I reminded him he had the VT version and both Kyler and our neighbor Austin thought it would be fun to play...for three hours! I should have shooed them outside but when they are playing well together with something that is good for them...I just couldn't make myself do it!

I did stamp something yesterday. I received the stamp set Your Neat in a trade this last week and was excited to stamp with it. I tried Beate's weekend sketch with this set. It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted but I'm sure that the intended receiver will like it!

I also joined a one-on-one (X3) swap for cards for this month so I have to get to work on those today as well. I traded for the Holiday Mini set called Autumn Apparitions so I'm going to try to use that. Each card needs to be different though so it should be interesting. I would like to use Beate's sketch or maybe Lauren's sketch for these cards. Maybe I should wait until my new Halloween paper gets here tomorrow...hmmm...although Todd and I may be fighting for stamping time at the desk as he needs to work on his swap cards!

Hope you all have a super Sunday!
