Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Hello friends! Well, I'm finally back from a couple of days off after Christmas. It was a wonderful break but I'm ready to be back to crafting and blogging again.

Today is Going Grey with Scrap-Creations day (and yes, I'm posting it a bit late) and our theme is New Year. I took that very broadly and just made a celebrate card for today. The patterned papers are from the DeLovely pack so you can see how off the coloring in my photo and I apologize for that. The balloons and sentiment are from Verve's Birthday Bash set and I did use a sketch from the Lizzy Ann Designs blog. Even though it isn't a typical New Years card I still love how festive and fun it is!

Now for some news. I just want to let you guys know that this is my last post with Kristen and the Scrap-Creations crew. I have had a wonderful time with them for sure but I haven't been feeling like I've been making anything for the fun of it lately so I'm going to give this up and only have two DT commitments. Thank you, Kristen, for having me!

I have some thank you cards to make, both of the generic type and specifically "thank you for dinner" type so I'll be busy working on that today.

Have a wonderful day everyone! Smiley from millan.net

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Morning everyone. Today at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenge we have the challenge to make a tag and this week we have a sponsor, The Character Cafe.

The gave us some really cute images to work with including the snowman you see here. I'm not very good at making tags but I tried. This one is 5"x3" and the snowflake embossed portion is shimmery white as well as the snowman. I was impressed with how well shimmery white took the Copic marker color. I just added a grommet at the top and some coordinating ribbon. I thought that I would just use a sharpie type marker to write the to/from on the tag. Again, I have to apologize for the dark photo...I can't get a good photo for anything right now.

Please be sure to check out the rest of the design team. Kris, Kim, Kristen, Marie, Jacki, Mary, and Peggy.

And, now I need to ask for prayers again. I need to ask for prayers for our friend Nancy. Nancy and her husband Al were one of the first couples to introduce themselves to us at church when we were new there about nine years ago. That introduction encouraged us to stay at the church and more than that it encouraged a friendship that turned into Todd and I asking Al and Nancy to be fill in grandparents for our boys since our own parents live so far away. They did not hesitate to fill that roll for the boys and they have been attending concerts, taking the boys to birthday breakfasts, and loving on us since then. We received the very sad news, this morning, that Papa Al has passed away. It was quite sudden and we are extremely sad. We were just at their house on Tuesday night celebrating "the boys" birthdays...Todd and Al whom have birthdays just a day apart. Kyler spoke with Papa Al at church on Sunday. I'm just asking you to pray for the Moss family and for the boys (okay all of us) as we deal with the loss of this wonderful man. We love you Papa Al and will see you at our joyous reunion in heaven!

Going Grey Challenges

Hello! Welcome to Tuesday's Going Grey by Scrap-Creations challenge post. This week's challenge was to make a Christmas Gift or Gift Holder.

I made several of these, what I'm calling, note holders for gifts this year. The flowered patterned paper portion of the note holder is metal under the paper and then the flower square has a magnet on the back so that a note can be held to the base. It sits up by a little dowel into a hole in the back. I should have taken a photo of this with a note on it...sorry about that!

I first painted the bottom portion of the holder with white acrylic paint then used Paper Trey Ink patterned paper to decorate it with. The flower is made with a Stampin' Up! die put through my Big Shot. The center has a flower base with a Websters Pages Sparkler in the very center.

I actually made five different note holders which I'll share with you throughout the next couple of weeks. All have different colors and themes. They were quite fun to make!

So...you must go check out what my design team sisters have made...they are wonderful, as usual! I'll link you up to their blogs individually below.

So, go have fun checking everything out!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Well, it is winter where I live! As I type this (Monday afternoon) it is snowing like crazy and drifting too. I'm also laughing because my little dog is whining and barking like she owns the place 'cuz she wants out of her kennel...I want her to dry off a little first! LOL!

Anyway, today is another edition of Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. Today's challenge is to use blue, white, and silver on our creations. I decided to use a super cute The Stamping Boutique image called Natalie.

Since I didn't really have any patterned paper that would work for this I decided just to emboss it with my snowflake embossing folder, do some layering (the white is Shimmery White) and I thought the icicle edge would be cute, too. I used a sky blue at you Spica pen for glitter as well as a silver fine point painty pen too. As you can tell I also decided to use some Liquid Applique on what I thought the puffy parts of her outfit would be. I love the dimension it gives the card. And, I just remembered that I used a sketch challenge too which is right HERE.

I thought I'd dress up the inside with more shimmery white and snowflakes. Can I just say that I love this card. I can't wait to send it out!

So, hop on over to the DT blogs (as can be found in my sidebar) to check out all the blue, white, and silver goodness then make a card of your own and link it up HERE. This card also works for the Pollycraft Challenge which is feeling blue, the winter theme at Stampin' for the Weekend, use a snowflake at Stampin' B's, snowflakes at 2 Sisters Challenge Blog, snowflakes at Totally Paper Crafts, and snow at Easy Craft Projects.

Have a wonderful day friends!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

It's Tuesday! Did you make it through your Monday okay? My day was pretty darn busy but I'm here...yay!

Today's Scrap-Creations challenge is a Christmas card. Now, I was not really in a Christmas mood so I decided to go with more of a winter slant. This week's sponsor is Stamp Fairy...a brand new company in town. The images I have seen, including this one, are super cute! I recently downloaded this snow globe hanger SVG from Cely and decided to try it out with this image and overall it is super cute!

I have seen my design team sister's creations and they are wonderful so make sure that you go check them out!

I'm entering this one into the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge for this week which is make a square card.

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Alright? How did we get back on Tuesday again? This month is flying right by...wouldn't you say?

Have you come back for another Going Grey with Scrap-Creations day? Well, we have a good one for ya. This week's challenge is Be Thankful. That can mean a thank you card, Thanksgiving, thankful for you or however else you may interpret that. Fun and useful, huh?

I chose to make a very simple, yet functional card. Actually, I melded this challenge in with some cards that I was asked to make by the quilting group at my church, Tabitha's Peaceful Piecemakers. Anyway, some of the members of the group are going on a mission trip to Haiti in January and they asked me to make them some cards that they could send to people that donate to their cause. Of course, I could do that! So, I pulled out my Unity Stamp Co store stamp kit from April (I think) and whipped this quick card up for them. Okay, honestly, I'm still working on them but you get the idea!

So...how do you interpret this week's challenge? Want to see what the design team made? Well, either go to the Scrap-Creations blog HERE or check them out individually from my side bar. Either way I know they are great!

It is a busy week for me so I'll probably not be back for a couple of days but when I do come back I have something neat to share with you so be sure you are checking back!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Good morning! Well, here we are on another Tuesday which means it is a Going Grey with Scrap-Creations day!

Today's sponsor is Kenny K and he provided the design team with some fun Christmas images to use. I love shopping at Christmas time. It is fun to find just the perfect gift for someone that I love! With that in mind I knew I had to use this image for my card. No being a traditional green and red kind of gal I decided to choose my paper first and then color Miss Christmas Shopper to match. This paper is some retired SU! paper that I really like, probably because it isn't traditional...lol! If you see white on Miss Christmas Shopper just know that those spots have Illuminate Smooch on them so the card is really shimmery and fun in real life.

I have seen the other design team members cards and they are just fabulous so I hope you will take advantage of the list of my DT sisters in my side bar and go take a look. More than that...why don't you make a Christmas card and enter it into this week's challenge? Find out more HERE!

Well, there you have it friends! I hope you have a super day! I'll be back on Thursday with a fun card with an image from The Stamping Boutique. See you then!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Good morning! I didn't get a card done for today's Scrap-Creations challenge so as Kyler says...FAIL! LOL! I thought I'd link you to the other ladies though so you can easily see everyone's cards and I know they are great!

Well, that is it! Enjoy all the projects and have a wonderful day everyone!

Think Pink!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you made it though your Monday with a smile on your face!

Today, is Think Pink day at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Challenges and what a fun day it is indeed. Anything pink, anything goes! Today's sponsor is Tiddly Inks. What a fun store they have. I was quite surprised when I saw this beautiful image called Dare To Be Aware with matching background paper. It was love at first site for sure and oh so appropriate as I found out a couple of weeks ago that one of my friends mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer so this is in the mail to her.

Before you ask or tell me what a good job I did...I DID NOT color this image. It comes with the set either colored or black and white and I chose the colored version for this card.

I hope you will join us for our Think Pink challenge this week and be sure to check out the rest of the design team members blogs as ALL of their creations are just incredible! Oh, and this card also works for the Stamp and Create challenge of the month which is to create a breast cancer awareness card.

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Hello friends! Welcome to another week of Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenges! Just remember you don't have to use just Basic Grey paper anymore...you can use anything you'd like!

This week's challenge is to make a card that represents your favorite movie. Well, like many other things I don't have a single favorite movie but I do like several so I just chose from those. My movie for today is....HA! I'm not telling. I want you to guess based on what my card is. And, yes there is a prize! A couple of hints...one, if you are a friend of mine on FB I posted about it a couple of days ago. Two, it is an older musical. (the sentiment on the card doesn't have anything to do with the movie. just think of the type of card)

The patterned paper that this card is made of is from MME and the shape was cut with my Cricut. I got a bunch of gate fold SVG's from SVG Cuts and this is one of them. Almost makes making this card a bit of a cheat ya know? The outside and inside sentiments are from Verve's set called Love Story. The ink and ribbon is from PTI and just seemed to match perfectly...I love that! So that I could tie this card together the way that I did I just cut a length of ribbon, adhered it to the back and then taped the front sentiment to the ribbon.

Once again, I apologize for the photo. I thought it looked better this way then when PSE put a whole bunch of blue into the photo.

Anyway, go ahead and guess what movie this card is for by Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. PST and I'll post a winner either Thursday or Friday.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Happy Tuesday all! I hope you had a wonderful start to your week!

Today is the Going Grey with Scrap-Creations day! We are sponsored by Fred She Said and I'm telling ya you should go check out the images as they are super cute! I did something with today's card that I've never done since I've started making cards. I used a pre-colored image. I love to color but I just couldn't get over how beautiful the colors were in the pre-colored image so I went with it. I chose to highlight the green and yellow in the coat and leaves with my other colors but I did forget one vital thing...can you guess what? First person that guesses correctly gets a little prize from me but I have to tell you...I was really laughing at myself for my mistake! Ladies on the DT don't get to play for this one.

So, you need to head on over to Kristen's blog HERE to check out all of the deets for this challenge and then be sure to check out all of the other DT blogs. They are linked in the right bar of my blog and trust me on this one...they are FABULOUS!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

And here we are at Tuesday. I hope you had a wonderful Monday and got lots done. I don't know why, but I've been grumpy the last couple of days so nothing has been turning out the way I'd like it to. Smiley from millan.net

Onto a brighter note....today is Scrap-Creation challenge day and today's challenge is to use your favorite digi. That is easy, huh? Not for me. I don't have a favorite color combo, type of card to make, or stamp (digi or rubber) so I just chose a digi stamp that I really like and have never used. Before you ask...I have NO idea where I got it from. All of the papers, ribbon, and embellishments are from the June TI kit though.

I don't have a ton on the agenda today but I'm hoping to get some fun stuff done in my stamp room so we'll see.

I hope you all have a fantastic day! Smiley from millan.net

Scrap-Creations Challenge Day

Morning everyone! Did you have a good Monday?

Today is Tuesday which is another Scrap-Creations Challenge Day. Remember you can now use any patterned paper for our challenges!

This week we were challenged to make a Halloween card. If you've been around on my blog for very long you know this was a challenge for me as I don't make much for Halloween. I do have one Stampin' Up! set with a suitable image called Card Kids. My goodness the images are adorable! I don't have much for Halloween patterned paper either so I used some retired SU! paper.

Be sure you check out the challenge HERE and then be sure to click on over to the rest of the DT's blogs...you'll find links in my side bar.

After you've done all that...have a wonderful day!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Good morning! Welcome to a late post but a post none the less considering I didn't think I'd get done with my card today at all.

Today I have some news to share about the Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenges. After much consideration, we have decided as a team to change the designer paper rule. As of today, you are allowed to use whatever DESIGNER PAPER you choose! Of course we LOVE BG, but this is no longer the requirement!!!!! Now, onto the challenge...

Challenge #24: Recipe Challenge: Ribbon, Flowers,Brads or pearls.

This week we have a Fabulous sponsor for you....SASSY CHERYL ! I have looked at Cheryl's images before and never bought any just because I thought they would be too difficult to color...I was SO wrong. This little cutie was a pleasure to color and has so much character and cuteness! My image is called Close Up Artist. Cheryl is offering $5.00 GC to the winner of this weeks challenge! Oh, and I did use a sketch from a fun blog that I found called Truly Scrumptious (is anyone else singing that song from Chitty, Chitty, Bang Bang?).

Be sure to take the time to visit the rest of the DT's blogs as ALL of their creations are SUPER cute!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

And here we are at Going Grey with Scrap Creations Tuesday...yay!

I cut into some newly acquired Olivia Basic Grey paper for today's challenge and it is SO lovely. Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights by Louby Lou. I LOVE when they are our sponsor as their images are SO cute!

Anyway, I used Princess Shona...isn't she just adorable? I used my MFT rolled flower die for the first time and it is SO easy and completely impressive, right? The Princess has a pearl necklace and the flowers have white pearls in the centers. Now...what you can't see is all the smooch that was used. Anything green on her clothing is shimmery as well as anything white on the floral background. It really is a pretty, shimmery card in real life! I must mention that my layout is from Verve's Anni-Verve-sary sketch challenges. FUN! And I just noticed that the Basic Grey Challenge this week is Pearls! This card works for that, too! Yay!

Alright...go check out what the other DT members have to show...they are all so talented!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

And here we are at another week of Going Grey Challenges with Scrap-Creations! I love this day of the week...can ya tell?

This week's challenge is to make a back to school card. I know...you are thinking, this is back to school? Well, here is the thing...I love to encourage my kids when it comes to school so rather than make a traditional back to school card I decided to make a card that I could give to Kyler on the first day of school to remind him that I love him and that he is SO going to rock his 7th grade year! The Basic Grey paper that I used is called Archaic and the "you rock" sentiment is an Archaic rub-on....fun, huh? Oh, the notebook piece of paper is from the Basics Manila Paper pad. That sweet image? A Pure Innocence image from MFT. Doesn't that boy look a bit like my Kyler? SO CUTE!

Alright everyone...hope on over to Kristen's blog HERE to check out the challenge and play along. Don't forgot to check out my fellow DT member's cards by clicking on their names from my side bar!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Morning friends! Welcome to another week of Going Grey Challenges with Scrap-Creations. This week it was an extra special privilege to get to work with our sponsor's, Kenny K, digi images and the images are SO cute! Check them out HERE.

You know I have to have a boy image and you know that we love football at our house so what other image could I possibly have chosen? Once I printed the image the size I wanted I started to think how I was going to color it and what Basic Grey paper I was going to use and that is the exact moment I thought I had made a mistake on my choice of image. Basic Grey, with a few exceptions, doesn't really make a lot of male friendly paper so I was starting to panic. Do, what I did is take out each pad of paper separately and look through the different patterns. I found this stripe and what ever you would call the other pattern in the Marrakesh paper pad. I kinda thought the round elements could look like stadium lights...yes, no? Maybe? Anyway, I made the sentiment with a JustRite stamper and put my football player into a practice uniform. I actually really like this card!

Now I know you want to join in on this challenge so head on over to Kristen's blog HERE to find all the information!

Have fun!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Morning friends! Sorry for the late post! I totally forgot to get this up last night and today is our anniversary so I got to sleep in a little. That was nice!

Anyway, today is Christmas in July on Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. Seems easy right? Well, I don't really care for Christmas at times other than December so it was difficult for me to get in the mood but I did!

The paper is from BG's Eskimo Kisses and my image is a Dustin Pike image that I've had forever! I wasn't sure how I was going to make this silly dragon image work with the paper but I think it works okay? I used lots of fun stuff like liquid applique and smooch on this card. The sketch is the sketch for you to try for the week.

Well, I need to run. My computer has been acting weird all week and it is acting like it is going to shut down on me any moment so to avoid losing what I have done up to this point I'll sign off. Have a wonderful day everyone!

I'll see ya tomorrow and will share the card I made for Todd.

Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Challenge

Morning everyone! Today is Tuesday and I love Tuesday here on my blog. Yeah, you know why...it is Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Challenge day!

Today we got to use Louby Loo images and our challenge is to use 3 embellishments. And who doesn't use multiple embellishments on a card? I used the super cute Beach Maggie...isn't she adorable? My Basic Grey paper is June Bug and I used a June Bug Woolie and Pop (the little heart embellishment), too . I also used the Sweet Sunday Sketch for this card...isn't it wonderful?

Kate, the owner of Louby Loo has so generously offered a $10.00 GC for the winner of this weeks challenge so you know you have to try it out!

Be sure to check out all of the design teams wonderful creations by heading to their blogs via my side bar links! See ya soon!

Thinking of you today...

Good morning friends! I know, I know...where have I been? Well, frankly, I've been uninspired. It is just one of those things that happens but I've noticed it happens more when I don't stamp/craft regularly so I guess I should be more regular about it right?

I'm back for another Going Grey with Scrap Creations Challenge. Last week we made summer cards with some really cute images and due to the holiday week we thought we'd give more people the chance to participate so we are extending the challenge one more week. Check it out HERE...I really think you would want to participate! I just want to mention that I used the sketch HERE. It was a fun, simple sketch that fit this image perfectly!

Well, tomorrow night is my very last official act as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator...stamp club. I'm almost ready for everyone and it should be lots of fun! After the order is placed and I know it have safely shipping I will be faxing in my resignation to SU! and will then be able to full explain ALL of my cards to you. Yay!

Well, we are off for some shopping and then dinner at our house with friends so I should get busy! Have a wonderful day all!
