Monkey Birthday

Happy Saturday everyone! I love Saturday (especially when the sun is out!) but today I love it even more. We are going to a birthday party today for our friend's little guys 1st birthday. It will be cute I'm sure!

So Wren, the birthday boy, is quite the monkey (in fact mom is making monkey cupcakes for today) so I thought I'd continue the theme with my card and bag for his gift.

I found the image on the card when I was blog surfing the other day. I knew right away I would use it for Wren's birthday card so I purchased it, down loaded it and then colored it up to make this card! The layout is from Limelight Papercrafts challenge for this weekend but also fits the Totally Papercrafts challenge of One For The Boys and Stamp Somethings Digi Day challenge.

Then I decided I would use the green bag that has been sitting on my desk for awhile but couldn't just leave it plain. I had just downloaded a monkey SVG from SVG Cuts a couple of days ago and knew it would be perfect so I cut that along with 'happy birthday' and just threw the bag together. It is perfect for the gifts we got for him...a pair of shoes (he doesn't care for shoes but mom wants him to start getting used to them) and a cup that goes in the freezer and then keeps the liquid super cold...a frosty mug like dads. Fun stuff shopping for a 1 year old!

So, that is all I have for you today. I hope you have a super wonderful weekend!

Coffee & Friends

Can you believe it? I'm back for a second post in one day!

I just had to share this cute Cafe Lucy image with you! Okay, that and it is for two challenges, one which ends tomorrow so I wanted to be sure to get it up here for that.

So, challenge number one...it is the sketch challenge for limeLIGHT Papercrafts this week. I took a little liberty with the sketch but I think that it is still the general idea. I also decided to go super clean and simple. For this challenge we were also supposed to use ribbon so I added the fun white with marina mist ribbon at the bottom.

Then the other challenge is for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge this week which is to use one of their images plus ribbon. Since I've been wanting to use this cute Cafe Lucy image I thought it would be the perfect time to do it!

Oh, I just realized this card will work for the Something Old (the dots embossing folder) and Something New (the image) challenge over at the D2D card ideas blog. Yay!

Well, what do you think? Cute, simple and fun all in one, right? Alright, I'm off to exercise so you guys have a great Saturday!

Turkey Pumpkin

Or Pumpkin Turkey? Which one do you think this image is? Either way it is cute isn't it? That image is from the new Verve set called Bountiful Harvest. The sentiment is from that set too...so pretty!

This card was made for the limeLIGHT Papercrafts sketch challenge from this last week. I wanted to be sure I got in for the challenge so I posted it on SCS yesterday and am showing it to you guys today. It has been forever since I've been able to play along with LLPC sketch challenges so it was really fun to be able to do it today!

Incredibly enough there are only 3 days until my oldest son's 23rd birthday. I know...I can hardly believe he'll be 23, too! He usually asks for me to make roast and a couple of years I've totally flubbed it up but since I found Pioneer Woman's recipe for roast I've not had a problem and it is SO good! I'm looking forward to Thursday!

Well, not much chatter from me today. I hope your weekend was wonderful and that you have a great day today!

Uplifting

Just poppin' in for a second to show you a card that I made. I was at the Card Patterns blog and just loved the simplicity of the sketch for this week so I had to participate.

I don't really have anything to say about the card...okay, I can't really say anything about the card but I hope you like it!

See you tomorrow for What For Dinner Tonight?

Gnome for the Holidays

Morning everyone! It's supposed to be another hot one here today...89 degrees and today is our all church picnic. Good thing there are wonderful big trees with lots of shade, huh?

To cool things off a bit in my stamping area I just had to get this gnome stamp from limeLIGHT out. When I saw it and the sentiment as the perfect addition...I knew they would be so cute! I also had to use the super cute Cosmo Cricket paper called Jolly By Golly again...I love how happy and fun it is! To top it off I added some yummy Kaisercraft Pearls in red and green. And the sketch is from Techno Stampers Lunchtime Sketch for this week.

You have got to get over to limeLIGHT to check out all the great, NEW products in the store. Mandy even has the new Unity Stamps Store Set....which you can only get at select stores and LLPC is one of them! Woot!

Well, that's all I've got for you today. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday! See you soon!

limeLIGHT Project for September!

Happy Sunday all! I'm excited to show you my limeLIGHT project for September. Mandy asked us to make a treat box and card for fall. Well, at our house fall means...football! So I thought it might be fun to make a card and box for our family Fantasy Football League.

The most important part of this project is...the football player image. For that I knew I had to use the football player Billy from Pink Cat Studios. Any football player at our house must have green and gold on...yep, that is right...Green Bay Packer colors. So what makes this a fun project? Well, inside the bag in the box are little slips of paper that have a "job" on them. Whomever the lowest point getter is for the week will have to pull a piece of paper and do that "job." I put things such as "run around the house three times", "kiss your mama on the cheek", "wear one shoe to church the next week"...stuff like that. Too, fun...right?

So, what other things did I use from limeLIGHT? Well, see that fun DoubleMates Luscious Lime green paper? Yep, limeLIGHT. And the White Gel Pen for the field? Yep, limeLIGHT. I just love the variety of products you can find at limeLIGHT!

I bet you'd like to see more of these fun combinations, huh? Well, all you have to do is check out the limeLIGHT design team...links are on my sidebar so check 'em out!

Have a great rest of your Labor Day weekend everyone!

I made this for my husband and he truly enjoyed it. I'll be back tomorrow with a much more uplifting post.

Dandelions

Morning everyone! Yay! It is Saturday and we are going to our friend's birthday party. She is two on Tuesday but I can't wait to see her this afternoon. I have totally forgotten to make a little bag/card to put with/in her gift. So, I'll be working on that this morning! I'm thinking Build a Bear so check back next week to see what I come up with, k?

This cutie card is made with the brand new Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Mini Deck and Chipboard Stickers. Guess where I got them from limeLIGHT Papercrafts. Oh, yeah...they they have newest stuff in stock including Cosmo Cricket and Jillibean Soup. Anyway, are they not just the cutest papers and shapes you've seen? Quite honestly...I didn't think I'd like this mini deck but I do. The colors are fantastic! I didn't put a sentiment on this because I thought it could be for so many different occasions. You must go check out all the fun stuff at limeLIGHT!

I have decided something. I am not a fancy schmancy crafter. Simple and fun is my thing and I think it works for me. I hope you all agree and like it 'cuz this is where I'm at. With that said...I offered up blog candy yesterday. There was only a one day comment period as I wanted to give it to someone who visits my blog regularly. Wanna know who the winner is? Okay...it's SPARKLE!!! Congrats Sparkle. I don't think I have your address (although I'll put it in my blogging address book now) so if you could e-mail it to me I'd appreciate it.

Thank you to all of my readers...you really do make my day! I hope you'll stop back tomorrow to see Challenge #2 from the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge blog. I am hosting this weeks challenge and I think you'll all like it and want to join in so...stop back tomorrow, k?!

***You must see the wonderful blog candy that my girl Kerry has going on at her blog! See it HERE!***

Have a super day!

Morning friends! What a fun day today as today is limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge day, I truly love my card, and tonight is the Care Net BBQ. I can't wait to meet everyone! Anyway, this week's challenge is stickers. At first I thought...Mandy, are you crazy? But then I remembered the letters and chipboard stickers I had and off I went to create!

Okay...so, you wanna know what I used to make the card? Well, I had to pull out the lovely Lemonade Basic Grey patterned paper along with the Chip Sticker Shapes and buttons. I thought for sure I was going to have problems with the sketch but I guess I thought on it long enough that I had a plan in mind...lol! Go HERE to see the sketch. The "details" are as follows:

The Details:
**Use the sketch and dress it up with STICKERS!! Flat or chipboard, all are game!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC028

Do Me A Favor...

Morning! I can't believe it is almost the end of the week already. Whew...this week has flown by!

Today I get to show you a fun little product that limeLIGHT has in the store right now. These cute little birds are made from the Basic Grey Lemonade Do Me a Favor Kit. Now, if you know me at all (and some of you should) you would know that my mind doesn't work very well with fold this first, then do this, type of directions. I've had to have Todd show me how things are supposed to go together in the past due to the fact that I just couldn't wrap my brain around it. However, in this case...I didn't need Todd! (Which was good as he wasn't home.) Woot! Woot! The directions and folding on these cuties are so easy that it makes putting them together a pleasure rather than frustrating. Love it!

This cute kit makes you 8 of the bird favors and costs $6.89. Just throw in some Hershey's Kisses (although the box is bigger than that and could probably hold a couple of Hershey's Nuggets instead...or..maybe some Jelly Bellies?) So, for .82 cents per box plus a little more for the candy you could have fun little first day of school gifts for all of your children's teachers and maybe even include in the principal and school secretary. Good idea, huh? These little cuties also come in the June Bug pattern and are chicken shaped...how cute! And don't think that all you get in the kit is the favor boxes...oh, no...they give you tags, flowers, hearts...that type of thing to personalize them even more! Best part about that is you could easily use those extra pieces in your card making/scrapbooking!

Since we are talking all things limeLIGHT, lets talk about the weekly specials they have...

**All cardstock and patterned paper is buy 3 get one free. Just notate in the comments section which one you'd like for free.
**All Stickles glitter glue is buy 3 get one free. Again, notate in the comments section which one you'd like for free.
**Cupcake Numbers, Jumbo Snowman, and Funny Bunny Stampendous clear sets only $10!

Run...okay, type quickly to get over to limeLIGHT and purchase all your goodies!

The last little thing today is a tutorial videa on how to make a Season of Friendship Manly Card. My friend Gwen's husband is her supporting demonstrator. They have started to make videos featuring her husband making manly cards and using manly products/accessories. So, fun! Check it out HERE.

Now, go...have a super day!

Cute Monkey!

Eek! What a fun day it is today! Today is three fun things for me...today I volunteer at Care Net, today is the limeLIGHT big project for August reveal AND limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge. Whew...that is a lot of neato stuff in one day! I know you must wonder why I enjoy Care Net so much and I thought I'd try to explain today. Where else can you go that they look forward to you coming in and need your help, that people are there to teach you and are gentle with correction, and most importantly they live their personal and work lives for the good of our Lord? Yep, that is the environment that I work in on Thursday 11-3. It is a a refreshing like none other!

Now...onto limeLIGHT Papercrafts challenges for the day. First I want to show off the August big project and the theme which is back to school. When I heard this is what we were going to do I was so excited! I love to make things for the boys (mostly Kyler as he's the only one that lets me anymore) for school so...here it is! I made a fun little bag for Kyler to carry some of his supplies in to the first day of school. While I'm not sure it is especially necessary for Kyler I can also use it as a bag for a first day of school gift for the teacher. I used the Stampendous Chantigo in Space set along with October Afternoon's Road Map patterned paper. The sentiment I made on my computer. limeLIGHT also sells some letters HERE. Isn't it wonderful? You could fit a bunch of supplies in this bag for sure!

Now...the sketch and product challenge for today is the card below. I, again, used the Chantigo in Space set with Road Map patterned paper. This time I added a Road Maps shapes piece for the sentiment. Now...the product challenge is paint so...See the yellow sparkle and shimmer around the rocket image? Yep, that is Shimmerz in Sunny! Just the perfect touch! Now the details of the sketch and product challenge...

The Details:
**Use the sketch found HERE and dress it up with PAINT!! Shimmerz, watercolors, craft paint...whatever ya got!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC027
**Post a comment with a link to your card on THIS post by Sunday, August 9, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).
**PRIZE ~
One jar of Shimmerz paint AND one bottle of Shimmerz Spritz of the winner's choice! (Winner is chosen randomly from all participants.)

Finally...I'm going to link you up to all of the design team members for even more wonderful inspiration! Go see...Mandy, Tiffany, Ryann, Lisa, Lee, and Amy. JenMarie is taking this month off but she'll be back next month!

So...are you going to play along? You better go get started! I hope you have a wonderful Thursday and I'll see ya soon!

Some Like It Hot

Happy Friday! Wow, this week has gone by SO quickly! My youngest son is having a friend over to stay the night tonight and since the temperature is supposed to be 100 degrees I bet we'll have the water slide out too. Ahhh...summer!

So...I have a friend (I know...can you believe it? LOL!) who is heading to Hawaii on Sunday Alohaso I just had to make her a card and a little something for her trip. For the card I used the Some Like It Hot set from SU! which is now retired but so perfect for this occasion. You can barely see it but I sprayed the white layer with Shimmerz Spritz in Baby's Breath. It just adds a wonderful shimmer to the card that you can really see...so pretty! Then, I added Shimmerz Blingz in Pixie Dust to the flowers on the flip flops and umbrella. Finally, I used Shimmerz in Sunny all over the sun. In real life this card is very fun and shimmery! The layout is from SCS's clean and simple challenge for this week. Love that challenge!

And, I wanted to make her a little something Hawaiian for the trip so I used some Imaginence paper, a chipboard letter, and the SU! Top Note Die to make it for her. The yellow on the "j" is covered with the opposite side of the flowered paper. I punched a hole with my Crop A Dile. A little So Saffron Twill will make the loop to hold it onto her bag. It probably won't last very long if she puts it on her checked bag but it will be cute for a little while, right? Hula

So, there is my bright and fun post for ya today! Please don't forget my Inspiration Challenge. You can see what that is all about HERE. It is a wonderful chance to win some Kaisercraft Rhinestones!

Have a super Friday everyone!

Thursday, July 30, 2009

Hello!

Morning all! This week sure is flying by! It is already Thursday and I'm off to Care Net to volunteer today. I can't really do much other than answer the phone, file, clean, and overall look lovely for them yet but someday I hope to be a productive volunteer....

Anyway, I thought maybe it would be fun to play with Basic Grey's Lemonade patterned paper. I do love it! You all know that I also love sketches so today I used this weeks Card Patterns sketch...isn't it neat? Perfect for a clean and simple card! When it comes to sketches I'm a rather literal interpreter so it drove me crazy that I couldn't figure out how to use flowers on the left but it just didn't give the look I was hoping for...darn it! What is good is that everything (except for the white base) that you see on this card you can find at limeLIGHT Papercrafts...how cool is that? Let me break down the products for you...Lemonade Paper, Lemonade Pops, Lemonade Buttons, Unity Stamp set Mix Up of Cuteness, and Pink double sided ribbon.

In addition to all the fantastic HOT new products that LLPC has they also have a weekly sale and this week it is...

*All Kaisercraft Rhinestones 20% off (only $1.50 per package!)
*Basic Grey Clear Stamps 20% off
*Basic Grey Designer Cardstock only $15 per pack
*All Fun Flock 20% off (only $1.99 a jar!)

Please remember that I posted a Inspiration Challenge on my blog yesterday. I'd love to have you join in and get a chance to win two packages of rhinestones...one in Antique Rose and one in Island Lagoon! You've got until Saturday night to link your card up so check it out HERE.

Now, go...have a super day and I'll see you tomorrow with some fun stuff!

Inspiration Challenge For Ya!

Happy Wednesday! It is always nice to be at the middle of the week, huh?

While Todd and I were gone this last weekend I saw a cute little round zippered bag that you see below. I thought it had the potential to be a cute card so I took a picture on my phone and made a card from it today.

Basically I used Stampin' Up! card stock and punches along with rhinestones (which are all on sale right now and are only $1.50!) from limeLIGHT to achieve my card. The sentiment is from A Muse. I decided to decorate up the inside as well so I just added some Whisper White card stock along with a couple of flowers and tah dah!

Now...I thought it might be fun to see what you guys would do with my inspiration piece so....how about a little challenge? Go ahead and make, well, anything with the round zippered bag you see in the picture below, link it up to this blog post and one random person win a little prize from me. The prize is going to be sponsored by the wonderful Mandy who will be sending one person two packages of rhinestone...one each of the colors I used in this card! Woot! You'll get Antique Rose and Island Lagoon!. So, please link your project to this post by Saturday at 6 p.m. Pacific Time and I'll post the winner on Sunday! Tell your friends about this challenge...the more the merrier!

Alright...go ahead...get to work and have a great time with this challenge!

limeLIGHT Day!

Good morning friends! Eek...it is Thursday already! Are you ready for the weekend? Got big plans? Whatever you do...make it fun!

Today is a limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge day! Woot! We all love these days don't we? First, see the sketch HERE. I do have to say I struggled with this one a little. Anyway, the product challenge is sentiments. I love to use sentiments as my main image especially when it is a scripture of some sort. This scripture is from Unity Stamps (it's called Move Mountains) and is especially pertinent to me right now as the Bible study that I'm in is on growing our faith. I used Basic Grey's Wisteria paper and some lovely Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon. This is a very simple card but one that I think will be well received by whomever I send it to.

So...I suppose you want to know the exciting part...what you are going to win? A Unity sentiment of your choice! Woot! Woot! Who doesn't love a free stamp? All you have to do is make a card with the sketch and link it to Mandy's blog by Sunday (I believe...check her blog to be sure!) to be in the running to win!

Now I am going to let you know that since I will be out of town this weekend I may not be posting over the weekend. I hope to get some stamping done today but I'm volunteering at Care Net today 11-3 so it would be later in the evening and you know how the evenings can go sometimes.

Hope to see you tomorrow!

Mix Up of Cuteness

Good morning stampers! Well, was the start of your week a good one? I'd have to say my Monday was good. Todd and I are working on getting restaurant reservations at WDW for while we are there. We have three places we'd like to go to but can only make reservations 90 days in advance. As of this morning we have two of the three reservations we'd like to have...yay!

One of the places we'll go at WDW is a place called Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate shop. Yah...we are eating a meal there...not! I do really want to go and have a snack there though. Ghirardelli is my favorite type of chocolate so it should be good!

I guess since Todd and I were talking about that yesterday that would be the reason why I have sweets on my mind, huh? Well, I just got the Unity Stamps set Mix-up of Cuteness from limeLIGHT yesterday so I pulled that up, inked up the sweets and away I went! I went with Basic Grey's Lemonade paper and buttons again, added lots of bling through the dots along with some shine by making the ribbon shiny and the bite out of the creamsicle looks shiny too. Now I just noticed that both the paper and buttons are out of stock at LLPC so just shoot Mandy an e-mail to find out when those will be available for you!

Now you know limeLIGHT has specials every week, right? This weeks specials are:

25% off Stampendous Clear Stamps and Stamp Sets
25% off October Afternoon Cherry Hill and Weather Vane Stamp Sets
25% off Crate Paper Lemongrass paper and accessories
And, ALL orders over $15 will receive a FREE package of Kaisercraft Pewter Pearls!!

You all remember that I'm trying to loose just a little bit of weight right? Well, apparently the fact that we are going to Disney World has given me a kick in the bootay as I am only 4.5 pound from my goal weight! Yay! I've also started Candice Stringham's Oh Shoot! class but have yet to do the first assignment as I need some action in my life...lol! I'll let you know as I go along how it is going.

Alright, enough chit chat. Have a super day everyone!

Friends

Good morning friends! Was your Saturday wonderful? I didn't really accomplish much but sometimes...that is okay!

So, did you guys see the Paper Makeup Stamps release for July? Not only did they have some super fun fairies released this month but they released some wonderful word art, too. The sentiment to the right is one of them. Oh, and they are all digital this month...kinda cool. SNRS had a fun challenge on Friday which was a sketch posted at 5 p.m. my time which had to be created and uploaded to their website by 6:15 p.m. The card you see is the one that I made and uploaded. Super simple but since I forgot until 5:45 that I was going to play in that challenge, it needed to be. The paper is from the Lemonade Basic Grey pad that I got from limeLIGHT as are the buttons and the ribbon is from SU! I think I told you guys that I have a friend that will be moving soon and I plan on giving her this card.

I'm making this a short one since Todd turned on the Tour de France. and I'd like to see today's finish. So, with that...have a wonderful Sunday. Take some time to relax and enjoy your family! Hug
