stitching

It is Friday so what has that meant? Yep, the 3 Little DReaMs challenge! Dani hooked us up with stitching for our challenge this week and I don't stitch so I got out my SU! All In A Row and used the stamp that looks like stitching. I also used my September kit's papers and the Professabella stamp. Notice my buttons aren't naked this time...it took me forever to find my linen thread! Overall I'm pretty pleased with how this came out. Sorry for the dark picture...my camera/Photoshop wasn't liking me yesterday!

I don't have much for you today. I have a really neat scrapbooking project to show you tomorrow so I hope you'll stop back in and see it in the morning!

a challenge

First of all...thank you guys for being so patient with me while we were gone. I appreciate you posting nice comments! Since I neglected the art side of my blog I decided to give you two things I made yesterday and one silly picture of me. Ready?

First, Dreamer extraordinaire, Katie, challenged her "dream team" to re-purpose the container that had brads in it. So, I took the sweet and easy road and made mine into, what else? A M&M holder! I used the paper, ribbon, and one stamp from the September SNS kit added some brown and green M&M's and I am all set to brighten someones day with this! For relatively little work you get a big "how cute" from this, huh?

Then the card...the card is also from the September SNS Kit. I must admit that the bird is kicking my butt. I can't color it the way I'd like and it is a large image which I always have problems with so a double whammy for me! Everything on the card is from the kit (except the ink of course). Isn't the paper just adorable? And, see? I used more flowers! Go Lorie!

And finally...a silly picture from me with a Bison at the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. Yep, my smile is fake because even dead those animals are huge and creep me out a little! Nice sunburned nose, huh? Oh, and, yes it looks weird but I'm clutching my camera's lens cap in my hand so I don't loose it. I should have just put it in my pocket.
So, there you have it! A long post with several pictures but I hope you enjoyed it!

Come back tomorrow to see my project for the 3 Little DReaMs Friday challenge. It is one I think you guys will like. Dani has really done a great job this month!

Have a super Thursday everyone!

loads of buttons

Guess what I got in the mail Saturday? Yep, my 3 Little DReaMs kit for September. I just had to use Teachabella to make a card...couldn't wait...no way! You can still order a September kit so make sure you go check it out at the link above.

Everything you see on this card...I got in my kit! How fun is this? If you notice the layout of this card is from the Friday sketch challenge that Dani had for us. Just check below to see what I'm talking about. I thought that maybe two rows of buttons would be too much but I think it is cute and may just use it for Kyler's teacher this year. Fun!

Short post today because you know how sometimes life gets in the way of things? Well, that is my life right now. I haven't had much time to stamp (much to my dismay) due to family "things." Also, we are taking a short little family vacation so I won't be back until Thursday although...I may try and post from where we will be at. I'll just have to wait and see how it all goes.

I hope you'll all hang on with me through this next week or so and I'll see you when I get back!

sketch challenge

Happy Friday Morning! As will be the custom from here on forward today is challenge day...3 Little DReaMs style! Each month one Dream Team member will have the fun of posting challenges for all of us dreamers. The month of August is Dream Teamer Dani Marcus. Last week we embossed, this week we sketch challenge. I used my very first 3 Little DReaMs kit for this challenge called Owl Occasions. All paper and almost all embellishments (minus the little dots on the paper) are from the kit.

Here is the fun part of the challenges...ready? If you participate and either upload your creations to the 3LD Yahoo Group (you can join through the button on the left side of my blog) or to SCS with 3LDAUG for your keyword you will be in the running for a prize at the end of the month. Our Dreamer extraordinaire, Katie, will be choosing the prize and I can guarantee you will be pleased! So come on...join us! It will be fun! Remember...if you don't have a 3LD kit just use either a Stamping Bella or Sweet N Sassy Stamp to participate!

Kyler and I are out the door early this morning to get the windshield fixed on my car. It is a 35 minute drive to the town in which it will be done and I have to be there by 8:00-8:30 so...it is an early morning for us.

Please check out the other Dream Team member's blog by clicking through by my side bar.

perk up!

So, have you guys ever seen FireCracker Designs? I'm not sure how I ended up at their store but I did and I bought a couple of things including a coffee set that has this fun mug, sentiment, and coffee rings. It is called Escape the Daily Grind should you so wish to go take a look at it.

For this card I used the same Mojo Monday layout as the Dreams Du Jour card but to incorporate in some embossing for the 3 Little DReaMs challenge I embossed the coffee cup with embossing powder that smells like coffee! Very fun! Just as a side note...COPICS will smear your embossing. I thought I had read that they won't but they did in this case (just check out the cup handle). I also used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Kind of a fun effect for the coffee rings and such. Recipe for this card can be found below.

Yes, the yard sale went well, our dinner went well, and I guess that means a pretty successful Saturday, huh? I don't have much for plans today but Todd seems a bit busy after church so I may have to help him out. Otherwise...I want to create!

Have a super Sunday and the countdown begins...5 days and a wake up until Jon arrives home! Yay!

sending joy

First off...thank you for all the good wishes on my workout. I actually did fairly well and burned a ton of calories (I wear a heart rate monitor that counts them for me). I definitely will be doing it again and again so that I can learn it all!

Soo...what do you think of Lattebella? Personally, I love this card. I love the old, comfy feel of the designer paper. The vanilla paper gives it a nice soft look. This is all made (minus the sentiment which is PTI) from the July 3 Little DReaMs kit. I forgot to order mine and when Katie asked me if I had...I freaked! Oh, my...please tell me you have more as I really wanted Lattebella. Anyway, aren't the papers and colors lovely? Katie did a great job of picking them out! I used my COPICs to color her and used a little bit of glaze pen on the scarf and coffee cup. Can you believe that there is no glitter on her? Crazy I know! I think the doodling gives it just the right look. Although I don't think you can see it I did sponge just a little Sweet Blush from PTI on the edges of the image.

I got an award from Sarah over at Scrampin' Mama! The rules for this are simple.

1. Only 5 people are to be nominated. (Yikes!)
2. 4 out of 5 have to be dedicated followers of your blog.
3. 1 has to be new or recently new to your blog or live in another country.
4. You must link back to whomever gave you the award.

With all those rules in mind I pass this award onto:

Courtney at Created by Courtney
Dani at Dani Gets Crafty
Katie at {Just Me}
Diane at ddnjoys2stamp
Missy at Missy's Creative Corner is my new comer.

If you look back at my comments you can find that the first four girls comment almost every single time and are so sweet and supportive off the blog too. Missy is new visiting my blog and is very kind too! Thank you so much Sarah! Your support and friendship means a lot to me!

Now for some miscellaneous things...Don't forget about my Thoughtful Thursday challenge to you all. You can check it out HERE. Oh, and I tried a new sandwich yesterday so if you like ham, mustard, and cheese all together and then made kinda like french toast check it out HERE. Don't forget Sarah's fun blog candy HERE. Lollipop

Alright, girls! If you made it this far...thank you! I am finally done typing at you. Can you just imagine what I'm like in real life? Yep, I talk...a lot!

whale wishes

This fun little card (4 1/4 x 4 1/4) was made for one of the boys that Todd has in his high school boys Bible study group during the school year. Two weeks ago this young man (entering his sophomore year) had surgery on his back for scoliosis and he got home earlier this week. He will be flat in bed for about a month so we decided that we needed to give him a little something. So, I made this card (it isn't too girlish or babyish...right?), we got a couple of movies at Walmart yesterday and will fill the basket with the movies, some popcorn and other treats and take it to him probably this weekend. He is a very polite kid so he'll probably say he likes it all even if he doesn't.

Guess what I got yesterday? Yep, my new SU! order. I liked a lot of the stuff and with the extra 20% off that demos get at pre-order I knew I had to have almost all of it...yep, I'm spoiled! I'm hoping to make a couple of creations with it this weekend but I have some other things to work on as well so we shall see. The most exciting thing for me is the new scallop punch as I dislike using my corner rounder for scallop borders so I really hope it works well!

And...today...today is the day I get to go pick up Kyler! I have missed him so much while he's been gone! I'm car pooling with another mom and we'll get up to the camp around 11, have lunch with them, hang out for a little program and then probably be home by 3 at the latest. Kyler is going to freak when he sees his room though because it is a total mess! We moved all the toys out from under his loft bed and cut the bed down to a more normal size, yet a size where we can still use it for some storage underneath. The plan is to go through the toys tomorrow (I hope) and have his room back in order quickly. Tonight is pizza and a movie night and I think that will be good due to the tired factor.

Just a little more news and then I'll leave you along, k? Please take a look at my side bar. You will see a way cool 3 Little DReaMs Design Team tag making my part in the DT official...woohoo! Also, you will see the links to all the DT members that were just announced yesterday! We had 15 (I believe) applications and could only choose 6 so it was SUCH a hard decision! In the end Katie chose (and did a great job I must say) Sarah Anderson, Sparkle Bliatout, Courtney Fowler, Dani Marcus, Melissa Earnest, and Heidi Michael. Congratulations to all of you girls!

I hope you guys have a super See you tomorrow!

another cute owl

And here she is again...Miss Olivia! I almost think I like this card better than yesterday's. What do you think? This card layout is from Julee's Mojo Monday for this week. Yes, I know...it is Friday but I did it at least! All the items on this card are, once again, from my 3 Little DReaMs kit. I used my square and circle Nestibilities to kick it up a little. Even the cute light blue ric-rac came from my kit. The sentiment is from the Bee Happy stamp set from SNSS but I thought thinkin' about someone would be appropriate for an owl...right?

Today is the last day to sign up for the Summer Sister Swap. I got a comment yesterday (I think) from Lori but no way to get a hold of you. So please Lori, go to my profile, get my e-mail address, and e-mail me so that I can get the questionnaire out to you today. If you'd like to join us HERE is the post with the info!

I hope that all of my readers in the US have a super 4th of July today! We will be
today...if it stops raining. Please take time to thank our troops whether it be if you see one someone stopping to shake their hand or just saying a prayer of thanks...just do it! Everyone else...you have a super day too!

the prettiest owl

I have to say that Olivia (from Sweet N Sassy Stamps who just release seven new stamps yesterday! yes, I did have to buy a couple!) is one of the prettiest owls I've ever seen! Seriously...how do you not love her eyelashes! I have neglected Ms. Olivia since I got her in my 3 Little DReaMs kit a few weeks ago...naughty Lorie...as I really wanted her and Katie got some awesome paper to go with her in the kit! This time...absolutely everything on this card was in the kit I received. How cool is that?

The layout for this card is from Mary Jo's Techno Stamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge (say that fast 10 times in a row!). I have used her sketches a couple of time before and I must say I do love them. Easy to use with just the right umph!

Have you signed up for a Summer Sister yet? Don't delay. Go HERE to find out what I'm talking about and sign up by Friday for some summer fun!

Oh, and if you need any Pampered Chef please let me know what your e-mail address is and I'll send you a link to my Catalog Show page!

If you guys didn't watch the video below...please do so. It really is a heart warming story! Does anyone else Smiley Central? I was thinking of getting it BUT I'm not sure about downloading the search bar thing that you have to. Please let me know what you all think...thanks!

Well, have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll "see" you tomorrow!

another bikahbabeabella

Okay, I'm nervous to show you guys this one. At first, while making it, I didn't like it...not one bit but now...after looking at it for awhile...I really like it! Maybe I should have used this one for the bling contest, huh?

Everything on this card (minus the bling and sentiment) is, again, from my 3 Little DReaMs kit. The layout is from a sketch challenge this weekend on I {heart} to stamp. I love the "Live Your Bliss" sentiment as many of the bikers I know just really love the experience of riding their bikes, fixing their bikes, and so on. It really is their bliss. The card size is 3"X6". I haven't made a card that size in some time so it was fun to do and who knew that you could fit Bikahbabeabella in such a small card? LOL! So, what do you guys think?

Alright...so we are on for the summer sister swap! I have about six ladies signed up so far so if you'd like to join us you can refer to THIS post and comment either here or there and I'll send you the questionnaire (which I got and modified from Tangii on the Bellaholics group...thank you Tangii!!!). Please e-mail me with any questions you may have!

Oh, and girls...I have seen the Stampin' Up! preview stamps/accessories. There are quite a few things that I like and can you say Scalloped Edge Punch for $15.95?! Oh, yeah baby! And the new In Colors...do you want to know? They are...Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Pink Pirourette, Riding Hood Red, and Tangerine Tango. They are lovely colors!

I'm putting together a little catalog show for Pampered Chef so if you need anything let me know and I'll add you to my guest list and send you the website. Your order will be shipped directly to you and I get the credit towards my show. I only need a little more to get to the next hostess level. How's this...if you place an order for my catalog show I'll put your name in a drawing for a SU! Level 1 hostess Print Pack. Does that entice you into "needing" something from PC? LOL!

Alright...that is my excitement for you guys for today! Have a terrific Tuesday and I'll see you tomorrow!

bikahbabeabella

I did actually get some stamping in yesterday, which is good as I have something new to show you! I actually started this card as an entry for a bling card contest but after looking at the other entries...I don't think I'll enter. Such is life.

Everything on this card except the base of Basic Grey card stock and the little rhinestones is from my June 3 Little DReaMs kit. I just think Katie does a great job picking out the papers to match the stamp. I mean who doesn't love a little sass with Bikahbabeabella?

Speaking of 3 Little DReaMs. Today is the last day to get your entry in for the design team. You can go HERE to see what the guidelines are for entry.

I've been thinking it would be fun to have a summer sister so I thought I'd propose it to you. Here is how it would work. If you'd like to participate you would leave me a comment. I would close the sign up on July 4th and send out questionnaires to fill out and then match you up. Now...this time instead of being secret sisters you would know who your sister is and she would know who you are so that we don't have any of the flaking that I had at Christmas time. Requirement would be at least 2 cards/packages each month to your sister in the months of July and August. Should you sign up and then choose to flake I will put you on a list here at my home and not allow you to participate in future swaps. I will not be playing mediator on this swap as honestly, I don't think it will be necessary due to the fact that you will know who is your sister. Please let me know if you are interested and if we have enough...I'll make it official tomorrow.

I had plans to be to work early today as my office is a loft and VERY hot in the afternoon's with the temps up in the 100's but I'm having tummy troubles today. It is taking all I have to just type up this post so with that said...I think I'm going to call work and lay down for a little while.

Have a great Monday everyone!

not sure what to show you...

I've been making cards like crazy the last couple of days. So much so I'm not sure what to show you! I think I will show you the Bikahbabeabella card that I made with my 3 Little DReaMs set yesterday. Isn't she cute? What you can't see in the picture is the Gelly pen on wherever there might be chrome and the Crystal Effects on the mirror and lights. IRL...it is sooo cool! I used the light pink ribbon to make it girlie. I'm debating putting a happy birthday circle on this card for a friend but I'll probably just write it inside! All but two items for this card are from my June 3 Little DReaMs kit. If you haven't already checked out 3 Little DReaMs you should go do that now! Katie just packs our packages full of great stuff to make such cute cards! Another reason I'm thrilled about 3 Little DReaMs is because Katie has asked me to be her on her Senior Design Team. I was totally shocked but definitely said yes! I love Katie...she is so sweet and talented! She is holding a design team call right now that I want ALL of you to go check out HERE. Also, if you already are an orderer of these wonderful kits just let me know and I'll add your blog to my 3 Little DReaMs blog roll in the left column of my blog. If you don't have a blog...I'll just list your name, k?
So, that is my exciting news! I hope you all don't get sick of my talk about 3 Little DReaMs! Laughing 19

Have a mondo Monday (don't know what that means but hey...it rhymes!)!!!

3 little dreams

Hey, everyone! If you are a 3 Little DReaMs Yahoo group member or if you purchase 3 Little DReaMs kits please leave me a comment here with your blog address and I'll add you into my blog roll in my side bar. Come back tomorrow (6/9/08) to find out my exciting news!!!

picture frame

I bought an ugly picture frame some time ago with the intent of covering it with some cute paper and making it into something lovely. I think I did it! This paper is from Imaginisce and is called Tiptoe Through Tulips. It is a double sided paper so I used the opposite side for the bottom third. The satin ribbon is from PTI. The words are from one of SU!'s rub-on packs. Yes, I know that the font's are different on the words but I like the eclectic look of it. Now be honest girls...do you like it? I like it but Todd doesn't and usually when this happens...he is the one who is correct.

On another, exciting note...there are big things a comin'! I would suggest that you check Katie's blog HERE a couple of times today. Then you should come back here and tell me how excited you are, k?

And, Image Swappers, I have received ALL the images so I will be swapping them out today and getting to the post office with them tomorrow or Friday! Watch your mailbox early next week!

Have a wonderful Wednesday! Brunette

kit card and so sweet

Yesterday was such a fun mail day here at my house! First in the mail I received my May 3 Little DReaMs kit. It included a massive amount of stuff and because I want you know all the great stuff you get in your kits so here is what I got. Beachabella, Life's a beach sentiment, 2 sheets of designer paper (one stripe you see here and one circle with similar colors), 6 12x12 (will be 8 1/2 x 11 in the future) sheets of Bazzil paper in a mustardy color, baby blue, and fun green, a Brilliance dew drop black ink pad, Fruit Punch Stickles, 2 colors and types of ribbon, 2 kinds of brads...okay so are you getting the idea that you get a ton of stuff? Now, because I'm a dork and I can't remember, I do know that a couple of those things are from the add on kit but for $8 bucks extra...it is totally worth it! I may have to go back and add it onto the two (yes two) kits that I ordered for June. Yep, I got both the Bella kit and the SNSS kits! I mean how do you pass on Bikeabababella and those cute owls? As much as I told myself that I'd never subscribe to a kit type of thing again after a very frustrating experience with another company like Katie's...I love Katie, her kit is fabulous, and the price is fantastic so I may just have to subscribe!

Okay, yes...you do see Kyler again. A week or so ago Lorraine told me that she had put something in the mail for Kyler for being brave with his dental appointments and such and I thought that was so sweet of her. Well...yesterday it arrived and holy cow it brought tears to my eyes! Can you see the super cute card? I love that part and Kyler loves the Toys R Us card (yep...TRU...can you believe it?) but what we both appreciate the most are the very sweet words that Lorraine wrote inside. You see...apparently she's been showing her almost 5 year old son, Randy, pictures of Kyler's whole mouth ordeal as we've gone along and Lorraine told Kyler that Randy said "I am going to be brave just like Kyler the next time I have to go to the dentist." And then told Kyler that he is Randy's hero. Kyler could hardly believe that someone who is almost 5 years old would look up to him. You see when you have two older brothers you do a lot of looking up and not much looking up happens to you. So, Lorraine...you have made an impression on Kyler that will not soon be forgotten and I don't think I can ever properly thank you BUT I'm going to try! So, he ends his ordeal tomorrow when he goes back to the dentist to finish his root canals. He is really looking forward to being all done with it all and honestly I don't blame him. Oh, and doesn't his smile look great without the stabilizing bar across it? 2 Thumbs Up We are then onto getting him to enjoy the water and learn how to swim. But you know what? He can and will do it!

All right you guys we need several more players for the image swap that is listed at the top. Do you have some friends that might like to play along? Invite them! Surely we can get two full groups! Also, you can join both groups if you'd like but you would need to use two different images.

I hope you all have a super fantastic Tuesday...maybe today could be your day to do something nice for others!
