Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Alright? How did we get back on Tuesday again? This month is flying right by...wouldn't you say?

Have you come back for another Going Grey with Scrap-Creations day? Well, we have a good one for ya. This week's challenge is Be Thankful. That can mean a thank you card, Thanksgiving, thankful for you or however else you may interpret that. Fun and useful, huh?

I chose to make a very simple, yet functional card. Actually, I melded this challenge in with some cards that I was asked to make by the quilting group at my church, Tabitha's Peaceful Piecemakers. Anyway, some of the members of the group are going on a mission trip to Haiti in January and they asked me to make them some cards that they could send to people that donate to their cause. Of course, I could do that! So, I pulled out my Unity Stamp Co store stamp kit from April (I think) and whipped this quick card up for them. Okay, honestly, I'm still working on them but you get the idea!

So...how do you interpret this week's challenge? Want to see what the design team made? Well, either go to the Scrap-Creations blog HERE or check them out individually from my side bar. Either way I know they are great!

It is a busy week for me so I'll probably not be back for a couple of days but when I do come back I have something neat to share with you so be sure you are checking back!

The Simple Things

Good morning everyone! We have another day of on and off rain today. It is starting to get a bit old but like I said yesterday my flowers and the grass love it!

Today I thought I'd show you a really simple card that I made yesterday with some new stamps that I got from my friend Dani. Since the name of the set is The Simple Things I thought it would be appropriate to make a simple, clean card with it. I'm very pleased with how this came out. The colors don't look like they match in my photo but really...the flower and the solid color background paper match. For a little bit of interest I cut out some of the butterflies on the flower, glittered them up, and then popped them up on dimensionals. A simple thank you card that I'm sure will be used sooner rather than later.

I'm still loving my craft room! This week we start on pulling up the carpet and painting the walls in the hallways. We will then lay the same flooring in the hallways as we did in my craft room. It will eventually go throughout the entire house. We are thinking that we'll only get the hallway done before graduation but that works for me!

Well, that is it. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! See ya soon!Smiley from millan.net

limeLIGHT Day!

Good morning friends! Eek...it is Thursday already! Are you ready for the weekend? Got big plans? Whatever you do...make it fun!

Today is a limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge day! Woot! We all love these days don't we? First, see the sketch HERE. I do have to say I struggled with this one a little. Anyway, the product challenge is sentiments. I love to use sentiments as my main image especially when it is a scripture of some sort. This scripture is from Unity Stamps (it's called Move Mountains) and is especially pertinent to me right now as the Bible study that I'm in is on growing our faith. I used Basic Grey's Wisteria paper and some lovely Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon. This is a very simple card but one that I think will be well received by whomever I send it to.

So...I suppose you want to know the exciting part...what you are going to win? A Unity sentiment of your choice! Woot! Woot! Who doesn't love a free stamp? All you have to do is make a card with the sketch and link it to Mandy's blog by Sunday (I believe...check her blog to be sure!) to be in the running to win!

Now I am going to let you know that since I will be out of town this weekend I may not be posting over the weekend. I hope to get some stamping done today but I'm volunteering at Care Net today 11-3 so it would be later in the evening and you know how the evenings can go sometimes.

Hope to see you tomorrow!

Mix Up of Cuteness

Good morning stampers! Well, was the start of your week a good one? I'd have to say my Monday was good. Todd and I are working on getting restaurant reservations at WDW for while we are there. We have three places we'd like to go to but can only make reservations 90 days in advance. As of this morning we have two of the three reservations we'd like to have...yay!

One of the places we'll go at WDW is a place called Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate shop. Yah...we are eating a meal there...not! I do really want to go and have a snack there though. Ghirardelli is my favorite type of chocolate so it should be good!

I guess since Todd and I were talking about that yesterday that would be the reason why I have sweets on my mind, huh? Well, I just got the Unity Stamps set Mix-up of Cuteness from limeLIGHT yesterday so I pulled that up, inked up the sweets and away I went! I went with Basic Grey's Lemonade paper and buttons again, added lots of bling through the dots along with some shine by making the ribbon shiny and the bite out of the creamsicle looks shiny too. Now I just noticed that both the paper and buttons are out of stock at LLPC so just shoot Mandy an e-mail to find out when those will be available for you!

Now you know limeLIGHT has specials every week, right? This weeks specials are:

25% off Stampendous Clear Stamps and Stamp Sets
25% off October Afternoon Cherry Hill and Weather Vane Stamp Sets
25% off Crate Paper Lemongrass paper and accessories
And, ALL orders over $15 will receive a FREE package of Kaisercraft Pewter Pearls!!

You all remember that I'm trying to loose just a little bit of weight right? Well, apparently the fact that we are going to Disney World has given me a kick in the bootay as I am only 4.5 pound from my goal weight! Yay! I've also started Candice Stringham's Oh Shoot! class but have yet to do the first assignment as I need some action in my life...lol! I'll let you know as I go along how it is going.

Alright, enough chit chat. Have a super day everyone!

lovin' from the oven

Morning everyone! How was your Monday? I had a good time hiking the ridge yesterday. I was off on the time estimates though. It took about an hour to get up and 45 minutes or so to descend the ridge. Still not to bad really. Of course I thought I was going to die about 3/4 of the way up but I made it and it was SO worth it!

Onto today's card. So...I saw THIS card and knew I had to have Unity's Lovin' from the Oven set so I hopped right over to limeLIGHT Papercrafts and placed my order (along with a ton of other fun stuff!). I knew I had to do something along the same lines as Ryann so I got to work when I saw Jen's sketch for this week. All the patterned and solid color papers I used are from Basic Grey's Granola paper pack. So perfect for a guy card, huh? I love the animal print paper for the hearts...teehee!

Mandy is running some excellent specials just for her customers right now so head on over THERE to check them out. I've said it before and I'll say it again...Mandy is super fast with shipping and her prices are great! Go check it out!

Now, go...have a super Tuesday!

We all know that Mandy is so generous to the winners of her sketch/product challenges and this time is no exception. Enter your card into the challenge for a chance to win one package of Basic Grey Silver Summer Rub-Ons.

I used some cute Pebbles Paper in a fun stripe using the opposite side for my base (almost) color. I used a cupcake from the Unity Stamps Cupcakes A La Yummy set (that you can find HERE). I also used some Shimmerz in Angel Wings on the icing of the cupcake. Finally my rub on is from Pink Paislee and are called Sweet Cakes Rub-Ons. They are so cute and SO easy to use and who doesn't like a row of cupcakes?! **A big thank you to Mandy and Sarah for helping me "finish" my cupcake card!**

This sketch is also an easy one to use; be sure you try it and play along with us! Up for grabs this week is a package of Basic Grey Silver Summer Rub-ons! And there's a BONUS.... Oh, yes, you can have TWO entries into the random drawing this week? How, you ask?
1- You get one entry for creating a card and posting it to your blog or in an online gallery (details below).
2- This week, if you get a friend to create a card for this challenge, and they post it to their blog or in an online gallery, YOU get a second entry! Just leave a second comment on THIS blog post here telling me who you sent over! Now, this has to be a NEW participant, someone who's never done the Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge! (Yes, if you get LOTS of friends to join in, you get one extra entry for each friend!)

Here are the details:
**Use the sketch provided along with your favorite Rub-ons!!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC019.

wild and crazy

Good Friday everyone! I hope your week has gone well! I'm so pleased it is Friday...why you make ask? I get to sleep in a little tomorrow...yay!

I just got this super cute set from limeLIGHT Papercrafts called Wild & Crazy Bunch (Unity Stamp Co.). I thought it was so cute and just knew I had to find a way to use these larger images on a card and I think I did it! I modified an older Sketch For You To Try from iheart2stamp.com. I had to pull out my Marrakech paper from Basic Grey to make this card, too. The base cardstock is Core'dinations Chocolate Box in Blueberry. I colored both of my images with Copic markers. For some reason I've been getting a lot of yucky overlapping in my coloring so please excuse that. I didn't think that with the crazy paper and large sentiment that I needed much for additional decoration so I went with clean and simple AND I like the results!

You can see on the inside of the card I just stamped the alligator from the set on white cardstock...perfect to carry over the clean look of the outside of the card.

This is another one of those cards that I felt myself smiling as I made it.
It is so much fun to make those kinds of cards isn't it?

Alright...I'm going now. I hope you have a fantastic weekend and hopefully I'll see you tomorrow but if now...I'll see you Sunday for my Page Plans sketch card AND the Sweet N Sassy Stamps Round Up card. Lots to look forward to. See you then!

created by courtney challenge #23

Good morning stampers! Boy do we have a challenge for you today with the Created by Courtney Challenge for this week . I was quite challenged with this color combo but I bet you guys will just rock it!

Anyway, we are being challenged to use Real Red, Pink Passion, and Chocolate Chip. I used my SU! set Love You Much and the January Unity Stamps set (for the sentiment) along with some Real Red Grosgrain and the new heart punch from SU! to make this card. It is clean, easy, and (I think) cute. Where is the Chocolate Chip you ask? The dots below the ribbon. I know it isn't much but I really think that row of dots completes the card!

So, this is what I created...what do you have for this challenge? Go ahead, make something with this color combo...upload it with the tag CBCC23 and then link it back to Courtney's blog HERE for a chance to win a little giftie.

When you are all done with that...link back HERE for a chance to win some Glory from Lorie in honor of my getting 100,000 hits. If you like Basic Grey you'll love this blog candy!

Tomorrow is Belli Challenge day and it is going to be fun! I have to admit that I haven't made my card for it yet but I AM looking forward to my creative process with it!

So...you all go...have a super Tuesday and I'll see ya tomorrow! Hug

row of yummies

Good morning stamping friends! I hope you all had a super Friday! I had my very first Tastefully Simple party last night and it was a fun success! Kyler was even my assistant for the evening and did a great job! That is what is great about home based businesses, huh? You can include your family if it works for everyone!

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to get my feet wet with the limeLIGHT Six Chick sketch for this week. I had fun using the new Unity Stamp Co. stamp called Rows of Yummies. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey and is called Eva. The ribbon is from my ever growing ribbon stash. The "how sweet it is" sentiment is from the PTI set It's A Celebration. After I colored the image I decided that it needed some dimension so I added some different colored rhinestones to some of the candies. In real life this gives it a very fun look.

Thinking you might like to try this sketch and challenge? Here is the info:

Sometimes as stampers and scrapbookers we can get stuck in a bit of a routine of doing the same thing over and over. Well, this sketch and product challenge aims to remedy that problem! That's because we're challenging you to think of new ways to use what you have! We want to see you use two or more DIFFERENT stamps on your card or scrapbook layout. Whether you create a scene with your stamps or just combine a background stamp and an image stamp, we want you to do something new and creative! Limelight Papercrafts has tons of fantastic stamps to choose from! If you don't have any Limelight products, that's ok! Just use what you do have! We can't wait to see what you create! After you finish your fantastic card upload it with the keyword LLPC013, link it back to the LLPC blog (there is a link above), and you will be eligible to win a Stampendous single of your choice! Can't beat that with a stick, huh?

I'll see you all tomorrow with a Page Plans card! Have a super Saturday everyone!

whateva

Good morning friends! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas! It was much fun to watch the kids' excitement as they opened their gifts and the shock when they opened the XBOX 360 we got as a family gift. We are very blessed at our house that is for sure!

I thought I'd throw a quick card out here for ya. This stamp is from Unity Stamp Co's December Kit of the Month. When I saw it I knew I needed to make a card with it for Todd. You see, we goof with each other and will say 'whatever' just in joking. As you may or may not remember yellow is his favorite color hence the yellow base. The papers are all from Crate Paper and is called Lemon Grass. You can find it on sale HERE! You know I love my sketches so you can find the sketch for this card HERE. This is an easy and fun sketch so you should check it out!

One of the things Todd got me for Christmas is a external hard drive for all of my pictures. It isn't hard to transfer pictures to the hard drive just time consuming so I'll definitely be on a mission to accomplish that over the next few weeks. I'm hoping I can just transfer entire folders but I'm not sure about that yet.

Anyway, I definitely have some more stamping to get done today so I'm off! Have a super day Make sure to check out the fabulous special that Tastefully Simple is has right now on my blog HERE!

weekend to remember

Good Monday morning my friends! I hope that you all had a super weekend! You probably didn't know it but Todd and I were gone this weekend. We went to a Weekend to Remember. If you've never been to one and would like to take a weekend to spend time with your spouse, no matter what your relationship may be like, the Weekend to Remember is the way to do it! We came home with some wonderful information and ways to make our marriage even better. I will not fool myself and say that it will be easy to put into play some of the things I've learned but I know that, with God, I can do it! I have to tell you one of my favorite sayings from this weekend. (This is just one thing among MANY!) Instead of arguing, one of the speakers calls it "intense fellowship"...how funny is that?! That is totally what I'm calling it from now on as I really don't like the word argument! LOL!

Anyway, This is the card that I made at the very last moment before leaving for the conference. I really wanted Todd to know that I was looking forward to the weekend. I used Beate's sketch for this weekend. The sentiment is from House Mouse, the cupcakes from Unity Stamps, and the paper is from ???.

So, I bet you are thinking I'm a pretty good wife right now, huh? Yeah...I pale in comparison to my husband! After I gave him my card he told me that he didn't have time to make or buy me a card and I was certainly okay with that. Well, he was lying (in a good way!). On Saturday morning he left me a card with a package of heart stickers to find. Go ahead say it...awwww...I agree...what a sweetie! I thought that was pretty cool until Saturday night when we went to go to our Sweetheart Dinner and he had a box and card for me. In the box...a beautiful black and white diamond heart necklace! Oh, my goodness...it is so lovely! It looks similar to THIS. Go Todd, right? But that isn't it! I got another card and a wonderful bar of Ghiradelli dark chocolate with mint filling for the ride home...which I forgot to eat, darn it! Now how is that for a husband? Crafting supplies, jewelry, AND chocolate...seriously! And, NO! You cannot have him! And, Todd...if you are reading this...I love you so much...I'm so glad God gave me you!!!

One other thing about this weekend. We went to this weekend with some friends of ours, Nicole and Scott, and I want to say to them...thank you! I really enjoyed getting to know you guys better! You ROCK!

So, I'm all done with being all sentimental! Please know I will not be posting as much this week as I'll be busy with family, Thanksgiving, and other commitments.

See you soon everyone!

created by courtney challenge #11

Good morning girls and welcome to week #11 of the Created by Courtney Challenges. This week week we have a sketch to play with. This sketch was drawn by my friend Sarah over at Scrampin' Mama. I love this sketch! Oh, and I must toot a horn for Sarah as she just got accepted onto the i{heart}paper design team. Very cool, girl! Very cool!

I'm sure you want to hear all about this card, right? Okay...the patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket, the stamps are from the Unity Stamps set called Hey Chick (I got the entire set for $2 this last Hip Hop!). How cute is this...I mean seriously! I love the birds with all their plumage. I added some bling on the feathers and added the Hey Chick sentiment and voila...a cute card!

Today will be spent getting the last few things done for the trip. I'm cleaning the laundry room, packing my bag, and getting the rest of my pre-posting done. Please know that even though some of my future posts may seem not so personal I am thinking of you all while I'm sunning myself in Hawaii! Hula

Have a super day everyone! I can't wait to see all of your cards!
