Guest Artist - Cristina

I am making very good progress on getting into my craft room. I'm thinking that by next week I should be back in there and crafting...woohoo!

Today I get to share with you a super cute card (that I've always wanted to try and make) that my wonderful blogging friend, Christina, made for her friends baby shower. Isn't it just adorable? I'm not sure the actual template for this card but it looks so easy! Okay, here is what Cristina said about a template...

The dimensions are: 11 x 4 1/4 cardstock - fold in half. Mark 1 inch down from top of card on each side and cut a slit 1 inch into the center. Then cut at an angle to the corner of each side. Use circle punch to cut each leg hole and top of card.

For trim: punch a half circe on card stock. Use scallop punch to punch around it. Then trim to fit as needed.

Guest Artist - Gwen

Morning everyone! I trust your Monday went well. I'm making progress on my craft room but it is pretty overwhelmingly messy right now!

Today I'm featuring my blogging buddy, Gwen. I get to show you a wonderful vintage scrapbook page. Gwen used several items from the new Summer Mini catalog such as the new set called Elements of Style along with some of the wonderful Smooch spray that is offered in the mini. And onto this week's How To Pray For Your Children:
1. Pray that they will know Christ as Savior early in life.
2. Pray that they will have a hatred for sin.
3. Pray that they will be caught when guilty.
4. Pray that they will be protected from the evil one in each area of their lives.
5. Pray that they will have a responsible attitude in all their inter-personal relations.
6. Pray that they will respect authority over them. Romans 13:1 Well, this one is hard. Why? Because we as adults have a hard time with respect for those with authority over us, so why would it not be difficult for children? Romans 13:1 says...Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. It is easy to think that this is just talking about government, right? With our children though this is referring to you as parents, teachers at school, church leaders, and frankly adults in general. You know when you read the phrase "teenagers now a days" and it isn't referring to something good? This is what this scripture is talking about. Our boys say yes, mom and yes, dad when in response to something we say to them or ask them to do. They are polite most of the time (at least they better be...lol) and we connect this behavior to the fact that God tells us to act this way by being respectful of our authorities as well. Have no doubt...we often fail and so will our kids. Thankfully that is what grace is for!

My Friend, Jen

Good morning friends! I hope your week is going well! My Bible study group finished up our 10 week study last night. It was a great study by Stormie Omartian based on her book The Power of a Praying Woman. I would highly recommend this book and study to everyone! We are taking a couple of weeks off and then heading into a study by Susanne Scheppmann called Birds In My Mustard Tree, How To Grow Your Faith. Should be another good one!

Today, I want to showcase a gift card holder that my friend Jen made. A couple of weeks back I held a Many Masculine Cards class and in it we made some gift card holders for the men in our lives. She took the ideas home and made a gift card holder from the instructions for her husband's niece. I just had to show you as I love the colors and stamps that she choose AND I love it when my stamp club members/workshop attendees use the ideas for their own purposes! Well, that and I love Jen's creativity and thought you guys would appreciate it too so be sure to visit her blog!

I'm hoping to have some good time to sit down and do some stamping today. I need to get stuff cranked out for next week as it is VBS time at our church and I won't be around much to craft so I need to get some stuff done up ahead of time. Wish me luck!

it's all about sarah today

Happy Saturday Morning! What are you guys all going to do today? Me? As little as possible! Nah...I hope to get some great stamping time in today! So...do you remember THIS card? Well, it was for a kid's birthday swap that I signed up for on SCS. When Sarah mentioned it I couldn't say no...could I? Anyway, I received my cards back from the swap yesterday and I must say that I love them all!

First, is the contact card that she made for me. When I asked for these cards to be made I asked that they represent who that person is. Sarah made her card with a hen because that is who she is...mama hen to her two beautiful boys and her husband. See the super cute little mice under the hen? Awww...so cute! Sarah is a very sweet woman whom I hope to meet someday in...wait for it...yep...that is right...Green Bay Wisconsin! You all know how much I love my Packers and she gets to live in the land of green and gold....lucky, lucky girl she is! I try to get back to Wisconsin every other year SO it is a good possibility that we may get to meet at some point...fun!

The other card she sent was made with a cute stamp from My Big Idea's and is called Max. It happens to be the stamp I sent Sarah for her birthday. With two very cute little guys at home I thought she might be able to put it to use and she did. I love the way she used the Traffic Jams Cuttlebug folder and cut them out. And the blues...perfect for my house and hers since we both have all boys that we live with. The sentiment is from that cute set I used the other day called Smarty Pants.

So...tomorrow I'll show you three of the cards from the swap and on Monday the last two.

So?! Isn't this one of the cutest things you've ever seen? Debby is a cyber friend of mine from my SUAngels Yahoo group. She has been posting these super cute coaster characters on her blog and I thought you guys might enjoy seeing them! This, as you can tell, is Frosty the Snowman. She also has made Santa and Mrs. Clause, a Rudolph, a sleepy Polar Bear, and a Dog. The best part about these cuties? She has given all the directions on how to make them!
