Who I Am...

Good morning all! I'm back today with a wonderful masculine card featuring a Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps sentiment from the Love Sentiments set.

I am a total sucker for any digital or rubber stamp/set that I can make a card for my husband or boys with. There is just something about those loooovvveee cards! I thought I'd create something for today's SNSS post that is a bit out of my norm and out of the norm for what you usually see on the SNSS blog (you know...the super cAute images and light colors you normally see).

I used The Sweet Stop sketch for this week, added some Pyrus Basic Grey patterned paper and wahlah...a card for my hubby!

I have to tell you that I Smiley from millan.net this card. I think my husband will too. Make sure that if you see him that you don't spill the bean about the card, k?

Have a wonderful day today! See you tomorrow with my McMahon Five Designs post but don't expect a lot of green, k?

Forever In Our Hearts

And, here we slide into mid-week! This week is just one of those where I've had something nearly everyday so and it isn't slowing down. I do love it though!

Today's card is special. I made it for my friend Nancy. I didn't really want to make a sympathy card but I did feel I needed to make something so I compromised with a "forever in our hearts" card. The beautiful dogwood patterned paper is from the Curio paper pack by Basic Grey. Isn't it just gorgeous? The card layout is from the Verve Stamps: Viva la Verve! challenge for this week. The wonderful sentiment is from Verve and the butterfly came from a emblosslit. I placed a vanilla color piece of cardstock inside, sponged some cameo coral around the edges, and then placed another butterfly inside. The color of the patterned paper is really a coral type of color. I will also enter this into the Paper Sundaes challenge which is something new. Both the patterned paper and the sentiment is new to me on this card. Please note you can click on the card to get a better look at it.

I'm truly hoping that this will be a soothing card for her. I'm also hoping that God will help me put words inside that will soothe her heart a little.

On to some fun news! I made the Top 3 at Doodle Pantry Digital Doodles Blog! The challenge was to make something that either represented new or with something new. I made THIS card and entered it in the contest. I am absolutely honored to have been chosen as a top three! I now get to put the super cute badge on my blog! Fun!

Okay, I'm sure you've read just about as much as you can on my blog for today so I guess I'll stop typing now. Have a super fantastic day! See ya tomorrow with my very first, official post for McMahon 5 Designs!

A Cuppa Joe

Good morning friends! Well, can you believe it is the middle of the week already? Crazy, huh? Remember I told you the other day that I was making a couple of cards with my Cricut? Well, this is one of them. Isn't it cute? How fun to send as a tea party invitation or just to send to a friend that you haven't seen in awhile.

I got this cut file (SVG) from My Scrap Chick. It took me a couple of trial and errors to get it to look the way I wanted but believe it or not...I succeeded. I believe this patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Porcelain pack. I just sponged the sides with some of the PTI chamomile tea dye. It was just the perfect color to make the paper look distressed. Oh, and the sentiment is from a Gina K set but I don't recall the name...it is the cute coffee set, though!

Anyway, today is Kyler's student orientation at school. Basically they just go in, see how the room is set up, drop off their school supplies and have a hot dog lunch, then start school tomorrow. We are taking one of his friends as his mom can't make it and then he'll come over to play for the afternoon...one last hurrah for the summer.

Well, I hope you enjoy your Wednesday! See you tomorrow!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

And here we are at Going Grey with Scrap Creations Tuesday...yay!

I cut into some newly acquired Olivia Basic Grey paper for today's challenge and it is SO lovely. Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights by Louby Lou. I LOVE when they are our sponsor as their images are SO cute!

Anyway, I used Princess Shona...isn't she just adorable? I used my MFT rolled flower die for the first time and it is SO easy and completely impressive, right? The Princess has a pearl necklace and the flowers have white pearls in the centers. Now...what you can't see is all the smooch that was used. Anything green on her clothing is shimmery as well as anything white on the floral background. It really is a pretty, shimmery card in real life! I must mention that my layout is from Verve's Anni-Verve-sary sketch challenges. FUN! And I just noticed that the Basic Grey Challenge this week is Pearls! This card works for that, too! Yay!

Alright...go check out what the other DT members have to show...they are all so talented!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

And here we are at another week of Going Grey Challenges with Scrap-Creations! I love this day of the week...can ya tell?

This week's challenge is to make a back to school card. I know...you are thinking, this is back to school? Well, here is the thing...I love to encourage my kids when it comes to school so rather than make a traditional back to school card I decided to make a card that I could give to Kyler on the first day of school to remind him that I love him and that he is SO going to rock his 7th grade year! The Basic Grey paper that I used is called Archaic and the "you rock" sentiment is an Archaic rub-on....fun, huh? Oh, the notebook piece of paper is from the Basics Manila Paper pad. That sweet image? A Pure Innocence image from MFT. Doesn't that boy look a bit like my Kyler? SO CUTE!

Alright everyone...hope on over to Kristen's blog HERE to check out the challenge and play along. Don't forgot to check out my fellow DT member's cards by clicking on their names from my side bar!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Going Grey with Scrap- Creations

Morning friends! Sorry for the late post! I totally forgot to get this up last night and today is our anniversary so I got to sleep in a little. That was nice!

Anyway, today is Christmas in July on Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. Seems easy right? Well, I don't really care for Christmas at times other than December so it was difficult for me to get in the mood but I did!

The paper is from BG's Eskimo Kisses and my image is a Dustin Pike image that I've had forever! I wasn't sure how I was going to make this silly dragon image work with the paper but I think it works okay? I used lots of fun stuff like liquid applique and smooch on this card. The sketch is the sketch for you to try for the week.

Well, I need to run. My computer has been acting weird all week and it is acting like it is going to shut down on me any moment so to avoid losing what I have done up to this point I'll sign off. Have a wonderful day everyone!

I'll see ya tomorrow and will share the card I made for Todd.

Thinking of you today...

Good morning friends! I know, I know...where have I been? Well, frankly, I've been uninspired. It is just one of those things that happens but I've noticed it happens more when I don't stamp/craft regularly so I guess I should be more regular about it right?

I'm back for another Going Grey with Scrap Creations Challenge. Last week we made summer cards with some really cute images and due to the holiday week we thought we'd give more people the chance to participate so we are extending the challenge one more week. Check it out HERE...I really think you would want to participate! I just want to mention that I used the sketch HERE. It was a fun, simple sketch that fit this image perfectly!

Well, tomorrow night is my very last official act as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator...stamp club. I'm almost ready for everyone and it should be lots of fun! After the order is placed and I know it have safely shipping I will be faxing in my resignation to SU! and will then be able to full explain ALL of my cards to you. Yay!

Well, we are off for some shopping and then dinner at our house with friends so I should get busy! Have a wonderful day all!

Going Grey Challenge

Morning all! So, how is everyone's summer coming along? Are you all keeping the kids busy? I like summer and the kids being off school but I hate that I don't really have a routine to speak of. I help Kyler keep a routine of sorts but am not as good at keeping to one myself in the summer.

Today is the Going Grey With Scrap Creations challenge. Today's challenge is patriotic...right up my alley don't you think? I've been having a super fun time making patriotic/4th of July cards...they seem to just come together so well. I think you may see one or two more over the next couple of days!

Well, why don't you go HERE to check out the challenge and play along?

See you soon everyone!

Exciting News!

Good morning friends! I have a couple of things to share with you today. First, I want to let you know that in about 3 weeks I will no longer be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. You will see changes taking place on my blog slowly over the next couple of weeks (if you haven't already). It isn't that I don't like their product it is that I can't reconcile with myself the changes that took place, last October, in our contracts any longer. While I understand the idea behind them I don't wish to follow them any longer so I'll be separating from SU!

Second...It is with much excitement Smiley from millan.net that I tell you that I was chosen for the Going Grey with Scrap Creations Design Team. Due to my contract with SU! I cannot tell you about everything this entails but within a couple of weeks I'll be able to fully introduce everything to you! In the meantime I've linked to my fellow design team blogs on the right side of my blog so you can check them out there! I will be playing along with the challenge this coming Tuesday so I hope you'll stop back then to see my card although I hope to post again before that.

I hope that you have a wonderful Friday and weekend!

Families Are Forever

Morning ladies! Just a quick card to show you today.

I needed one more Father's Day card but it didn't need to be a traditional Father's Day card so I took out one of my Cricut cartridges and cut the tree and sentiment. I did use a sketch for this card (I just can't seem to get away from them!). You can see that at the Moving Along With The Times blog HERE.

See? Super simple card but the tree and sentiment have some meaning behind them.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Birthday Cake

Hello! Just a quick post to show you a card I made yesterday.

This is for a sketch challenge HERE and when I decided on the cake image I knew I had to use the paper that I did. In real life...it is a decadent looking card! I used a glaze pen on the chocolate part of the strawberry and the strawberry filling for the cake then used a glitter pen on the seed in the strawberry.

I'm sure this card will get used very soon! Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

The Simple Things

Good morning everyone! We have another day of on and off rain today. It is starting to get a bit old but like I said yesterday my flowers and the grass love it!

Today I thought I'd show you a really simple card that I made yesterday with some new stamps that I got from my friend Dani. Since the name of the set is The Simple Things I thought it would be appropriate to make a simple, clean card with it. I'm very pleased with how this came out. The colors don't look like they match in my photo but really...the flower and the solid color background paper match. For a little bit of interest I cut out some of the butterflies on the flower, glittered them up, and then popped them up on dimensionals. A simple thank you card that I'm sure will be used sooner rather than later.

I'm still loving my craft room! This week we start on pulling up the carpet and painting the walls in the hallways. We will then lay the same flooring in the hallways as we did in my craft room. It will eventually go throughout the entire house. We are thinking that we'll only get the hallway done before graduation but that works for me!

Well, that is it. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! See ya soon!Smiley from millan.net

Have a great day!

Happy Wednesday! This week is going super slow so I'm glad to finally be at Wednesday. Today I get to go purchase the paint for my craft room...woohoo! AND, I think we are going to get the table tops/organizing "stuff" from IKEA. Oh, and I'm looking at a new window covering too. Not sure what color to go with on that but we'll see.

Okay, onto the card. What do you think? I used lots of colors and patterns on this card which I don't normally do but I kinda like it. The sentiment is simple and something that can be used for several occasions. Oh, and it is for a sketch challenge HERE. When I need a sketch and the sketch from CPS, Mojo Monday, or one of the other more popular challenges won't work for my image I like to go to Allison's blog as she has challenges listed there everyday. It is a great list!

Alright, I'm off to start my day. I hope your Wednesday is wonderful! See ya all soon!

Look What I Won!

Good morning friends. I am dragging a bit this morning so sorry for the late posting. I got a call at 10:45 p.m. last night and I don't know about you but that usually means something is wrong. I was right. In the course of his job Todd cut his hand and was on the way to the ER to see if he needed to have it stitched up. Panic and fear enveloped my heart even though it was just a cut...if you know me you know why. Anyway, he ended up with four stitches so it wasn't too bad and came home a little early last night. He is still sleeping as of now but I just want to love on him a little so I hope he gets up soon.

Anyway, that isn't why you came here...you came to see something artsy, huh? Well, have I got that for you today! Awhile back my friend Kris was giving away some blog candy and I won! Woot! What I won is this amazing butterfly card. Only it isn't really a card...the butterfly is made with chipboard and it attaches together with a jump ring. The sparkle and shine this thing has...oh, my...it is beautiful! Kris is an amazing artist for sure! She is also one of the four Stampin' Sisters in Christ who started our new challenge blog. Very fun, right!?

I actually just received another blog candy that I won from the same blog hop that if I get permission from the creator I'll show you tomorrow.

As I said before I'm running a bit behind today so I must run. Have a great Friday all!

limeLIGHT Day!

Morning friends! What a fun day today as today is limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge day, I truly love my card, and tonight is the Care Net BBQ. I can't wait to meet everyone! Anyway, this week's challenge is stickers. At first I thought...Mandy, are you crazy? But then I remembered the letters and chipboard stickers I had and off I went to create!

Okay...so, you wanna know what I used to make the card? Well, I had to pull out the lovely Lemonade Basic Grey patterned paper along with the Chip Sticker Shapes and buttons. I thought for sure I was going to have problems with the sketch but I guess I thought on it long enough that I had a plan in mind...lol! Go HERE to see the sketch. The "details" are as follows:

The Details:
**Use the sketch and dress it up with STICKERS!! Flat or chipboard, all are game!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC028
**Post a comment with a link to your card right here by Sunday, August 23, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).
**PRIZE ~
One lucky winner will receive a package of Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Icon Rub-ons (pictured above)! (Winner is chosen randomly from all participants.)

What a great prize, right?!? I so wish I could have some of that Cosmo Cricket paper but guess whose broke? Guess I need to sell some more retired stamps sets, huh?

Jack Patch

Good morning friends! Welcome to a brand new week where we get to start all over again OR continue on in the way we were in the past. A wonderful thing to ge tot choose whichever way we decide, huh?

Anyway, I saw on SCS that DZ Doodles is having a design team call so I thought...why not? Their images are super cute so why not try. I downloaded this cute Jack Patch image, printed it out, and then got to work on a card. I used some older Basic Grey patterned paper and a fun Nestability along with the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge for this week. I love fall so this card suits me fine. Here is where the "but" comes in. But, I'm not going to enter it for design team consideration. Not too long ago I entered for a design team I really wanted to be on and honestly thought I did a good job but didn't make it. That has made me a bit gun shy in trying out for design teams so I have just decided that I will enjoy my limeLIGHT Papercrafts Design Team, posting for you all, and making cards for our Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenges.

Anyway, I have another busy week ahead of me but I'm hoping to get some time to craft each day. I know I'm excited to have a limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge for you on Thursday!

In the meantime...Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Hello!

Morning all! This week sure is flying by! It is already Thursday and I'm off to Care Net to volunteer today. I can't really do much other than answer the phone, file, clean, and overall look lovely for them yet but someday I hope to be a productive volunteer....

Anyway, I thought maybe it would be fun to play with Basic Grey's Lemonade patterned paper. I do love it! You all know that I also love sketches so today I used this weeks Card Patterns sketch...isn't it neat? Perfect for a clean and simple card! When it comes to sketches I'm a rather literal interpreter so it drove me crazy that I couldn't figure out how to use flowers on the left but it just didn't give the look I was hoping for...darn it! What is good is that everything (except for the white base) that you see on this card you can find at limeLIGHT Papercrafts...how cool is that? Let me break down the products for you...Lemonade Paper, Lemonade Pops, Lemonade Buttons, Unity Stamp set Mix Up of Cuteness, and Pink double sided ribbon.

In addition to all the fantastic HOT new products that LLPC has they also have a weekly sale and this week it is...

*All Kaisercraft Rhinestones 20% off (only $1.50 per package!)
*Basic Grey Clear Stamps 20% off
*Basic Grey Designer Cardstock only $15 per pack
*All Fun Flock 20% off (only $1.99 a jar!)

Please remember that I posted a Inspiration Challenge on my blog yesterday. I'd love to have you join in and get a chance to win two packages of rhinestones...one in Antique Rose and one in Island Lagoon! You've got until Saturday night to link your card up so check it out HERE.

Now, go...have a super day and I'll see you tomorrow with some fun stuff!

limeLIGHT Day!

Good morning friends! Eek...it is Thursday already! Are you ready for the weekend? Got big plans? Whatever you do...make it fun!

Today is a limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge day! Woot! We all love these days don't we? First, see the sketch HERE. I do have to say I struggled with this one a little. Anyway, the product challenge is sentiments. I love to use sentiments as my main image especially when it is a scripture of some sort. This scripture is from Unity Stamps (it's called Move Mountains) and is especially pertinent to me right now as the Bible study that I'm in is on growing our faith. I used Basic Grey's Wisteria paper and some lovely Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon. This is a very simple card but one that I think will be well received by whomever I send it to.

So...I suppose you want to know the exciting part...what you are going to win? A Unity sentiment of your choice! Woot! Woot! Who doesn't love a free stamp? All you have to do is make a card with the sketch and link it to Mandy's blog by Sunday (I believe...check her blog to be sure!) to be in the running to win!

Now I am going to let you know that since I will be out of town this weekend I may not be posting over the weekend. I hope to get some stamping done today but I'm volunteering at Care Net today 11-3 so it would be later in the evening and you know how the evenings can go sometimes.

Hope to see you tomorrow!

Mix Up of Cuteness

Good morning stampers! Well, was the start of your week a good one? I'd have to say my Monday was good. Todd and I are working on getting restaurant reservations at WDW for while we are there. We have three places we'd like to go to but can only make reservations 90 days in advance. As of this morning we have two of the three reservations we'd like to have...yay!

One of the places we'll go at WDW is a place called Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate shop. Yah...we are eating a meal there...not! I do really want to go and have a snack there though. Ghirardelli is my favorite type of chocolate so it should be good!

I guess since Todd and I were talking about that yesterday that would be the reason why I have sweets on my mind, huh? Well, I just got the Unity Stamps set Mix-up of Cuteness from limeLIGHT yesterday so I pulled that up, inked up the sweets and away I went! I went with Basic Grey's Lemonade paper and buttons again, added lots of bling through the dots along with some shine by making the ribbon shiny and the bite out of the creamsicle looks shiny too. Now I just noticed that both the paper and buttons are out of stock at LLPC so just shoot Mandy an e-mail to find out when those will be available for you!

Now you know limeLIGHT has specials every week, right? This weeks specials are:

25% off Stampendous Clear Stamps and Stamp Sets
25% off October Afternoon Cherry Hill and Weather Vane Stamp Sets
25% off Crate Paper Lemongrass paper and accessories
And, ALL orders over $15 will receive a FREE package of Kaisercraft Pewter Pearls!!

You all remember that I'm trying to loose just a little bit of weight right? Well, apparently the fact that we are going to Disney World has given me a kick in the bootay as I am only 4.5 pound from my goal weight! Yay! I've also started Candice Stringham's Oh Shoot! class but have yet to do the first assignment as I need some action in my life...lol! I'll let you know as I go along how it is going.

Alright, enough chit chat. Have a super day everyone!

Friends

Good morning friends! Was your Saturday wonderful? I didn't really accomplish much but sometimes...that is okay!

So, did you guys see the Paper Makeup Stamps release for July? Not only did they have some super fun fairies released this month but they released some wonderful word art, too. The sentiment to the right is one of them. Oh, and they are all digital this month...kinda cool. SNRS had a fun challenge on Friday which was a sketch posted at 5 p.m. my time which had to be created and uploaded to their website by 6:15 p.m. The card you see is the one that I made and uploaded. Super simple but since I forgot until 5:45 that I was going to play in that challenge, it needed to be. The paper is from the Lemonade Basic Grey pad that I got from limeLIGHT as are the buttons and the ribbon is from SU! I think I told you guys that I have a friend that will be moving soon and I plan on giving her this card.

I'm making this a short one since Todd turned on the Tour de France. and I'd like to see today's finish. So, with that...have a wonderful Sunday. Take some time to relax and enjoy your family! Hug
