Don't be afraid!

Good morning ladies! I've been having so much fun in my craft room this week. I think Todd thought I was trapped in here yesterday as I worked until 9:30 pm before spending some time with him.

I thought I would share with you a peek of what it looks like behind the photos of my finished cards. Plainly put...it is a mess, especially in the middle of a project. Right now I'm working on a couple of scrapbook pages from the wine hike that Todd and I took in June. I'm looking forward to getting them done. I just need a vine SVG...anyone know where to get one? Please tell me that other people have messy crafting areas too. This is just part of it by the way! If you want to see what my craft area looks like all nice and new you can click HERE. Looking at those photos makes me want to take a couple of days just to re-organize. Hmmm...I may have to do that soon!

Well, you should get to see those scrapbook pages very soon! Tomorrow is a new release day over at Clear Dollar Stamps and then Sunday I am participating in a blog hop so I hope to see you back then! Smiley from millan.net

The card that caused a mess...

I know, I know...can you believe it? I'm posting for my third day in a row...craziness, huh? Can I just say that this week is going by extremely slow? It is only Wednesday...ugh! Apparently I'm just used to have things to do and places to go with the kids. I can't wait for Kyler to get home!

So, the cuteness of this card would not be appreciated without the knowledge of what my craft desk looked like while making it. Yep, that is right...take a look at the photo to the left (enlarge it if you dare). I was going to glue down the top embossed portion to the black base and the glue wouldn't come out so I squeezed a little harder and well...you see the result, glue absolutely everywhere. The glue was on the floor, on my shirt, on my desk, and on my keyboard. It was an absolute mess. I sat there for about 5 seconds just in amazement and then figured I should get it cleaned up since it is quick dry glue. Thankfully it came off of just about everything...except my clothes...bummer!

Anyway, this card is a simple SU! only card that is 4x4. I love that size for quick cards like thank you notes. Inside is a piece of whisper white cardstock on which I stamped the flower again, that just finishes off this card nicely. The flower is from the set Fast & Fabulous which is a hostess set in the new IB&C.

The only thing about not having any boys at home with me is that I don't feel guilty about spending time in my craft room which is why I've had cards to share. I have a portion of a card sitting on my desk that I'll finish off today and hopefully show you in the next couple of days, too. I'm loving my stamp time!

Fun Details

Woohoo...the weekend is here! Hope you have fun plans for the weekend. I have a couple of things that I would like to do for work and a couple of things for the craft room so overall it should be a great weekend!

I decided that I wanted to spiff up my storage unit a little bit so I bought some of EAD Designs re-positionable stickers and tahdah...a dressed up little unit!

It is kind of hard to see the stickers in the photo so go ahead and click on the photo to make it larger...that should help out.

Oh, and I also received my blog candy from EAD it is a piece of vinyl lettering that says "create". I'll be putting that up this weekend too!

Well, that's it for me today. Just a little post to say Smiley from millan.net.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

Craft Room Reveal Day!

Morning friends! Well, today is the day! I have some photos of my crafting room! Woohoo! I have a couple of finishing things to do (I'm going to either make or have someone make for me curtains to cover from the bottom of the counter area to the floor to cover my little storage area). That and I have a couple of more decor elements and the magnetic whiteboard to put up. Overall...I'm finished! This room is exactly what I was hoping it would be and just such a wonderful place to be in that I don't like to leave. Thank you so much Todd for making my dream room come true!
Okay, above is what you'll see coming down the hall to the room. I'm calling it my cutting center and there is a better picture below.Above is what I call my ribbon wall and is the wall on the right hand side as you come in the room. The ribbon holders are from Clip it Up (but I paid much less than retail price for them) and my Nesties hang below the bottom holder. I won a wonderful piece of vinyl art from EAD Designs that says "create" and it will center over the top of the ribbon holders and punch rail on that wall. So excited to get it!
Again, above is the window area of my room. Yep, that is my new window covering, a top down, bottom up double cell blind and it is gorgeous! We got one for the living room too! I use the counter area under the window to place my Fiskars Cutter and Scoring board when I use it. Right now the swaps for stamp club are laid out so I can distribute them when the orders come in. Oh, see...the bouquet of flowers in the vase on the window sill? Well, that is the bouquet of flowers Todd had for me when we he proposed to me. Lily of the Valley are my absolutely most favorite flowers and we don't have them around here so he had a bouquet of silk LOTV along with lilacs made for me!Above is my main crafting area. You can see my computer with printer underneath the table...love that! What I didn't get in the picture, darn it, is my Mother's Day present. I'll have to take a photo of that later and show you! Underneath the table and to the left of the printer you'll see a tote with stuff on top. The tote has stamp sets in it and on top I keep my cutter, scor-pal, and a smaller tote with stuff that I use often when I craft..adhesive, stamp cleaner, glue dots, sponges...you get the idea. I like this because it is all together yet put away when I'm not using it.
Yep, that is my cutting center. You can see my punches, Nesties, Big Shot, and the supplies for the Big Shot are in the container on the storage unit...the plates are in the top drawer of the unit.
Something I'm excited about is my paper center. I have SU!, Gina K, and PaperTrey Ink paper within the magazine holders, about 4-5 different colors per magazine holder. I'm going to get some 8 1/2 x 11 cello bags to put my scraps eventually...when I can find them.
And finally...my other storage. The white paper holders are big enough for my 12x12 papers and they are organized by bright, light, earth, winter/Christmas, baby/misc. holiday, Valentine's/love, and I have a chipboard box as well. There are stamp sets on the top shelf, stamps, paper, re-inkers on the 2nd shelf, paper on the 3rd shelf, the 4th shelf is embellishments, and the bottom shelf is Dove Chocolate Discoveries stuff and that is also what is in the corner.

Well, I think that is it? Was it worth the wait? It was for me for sure! Please...give me your feedback, let me know what you think. Do you have anymore ideas for me? I'd love to hear them!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend everyone! "See" ya all soon!

Almost There!

Good morning all! I know you all want to see the craft room and I have to tell you that I'm almost ready to take photos and reveal the entire room to you. My new window covering will be installed on Friday afternoon so if I can get some good pictures on Friday night I'll show it all to you on Saturday if the photos don't come out well at night then I'll be taking pictures on Saturday during the day and I'll show them to you after that.

Anyway, today I'm showing you the custom vinyl lettering that I got for above the window in my room. I know I'm not supposed to link to a store that is a competitor to SU! but in this case I'm going to as SU! does not make custom pieces (like my blog name) and EAD Designs does. I just e-mailed Emily what it was that I wanted (the Design Center application wasn't working at that time) and within about 5 minutes she had some samples for me and within about a half hour I had paid for and was patiently (or not) waiting for my letting piece to arrive. It only took a couple of days for it to arrive, too! Even with a textured wall it was quite easy to apply and I think it just looks fabulous...would you agree? I love it! Oh, and please know that I could not get a good picture of the wall color. The green I have, while I didn't like it to begin with, is so pretty and clean!

So, this week is pretty busy. I have Bible study tonight, Jon's athlete of the quarter awards evening on Wednesday, Kyler's spring concert on Thursday night, the window coverings are being installed on Friday, the AWARE breakfast is Saturday, and Sunday is church and a VBS decorating party. Whew! I'm tired just thinking about it all! In between I'd love to get some crafting in so I hope to have some "stuff" to show you again soon!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!Smiley from millan.net

Craft Room Update

Finally! I've been trying to post this photo since about 7 a.m. this morning!

I'm so excited to show you a portion of the flooring that went down last night in my soon to be craft room. Todd and Scott (one of our friends) worked on it and had it done in about three hours. It would have taken Todd much longer to do it on his own as he just doesn't have the correct equipment. We may have to purchase a table saw when we are ready to lay the flooring in the rest of the house. Anyway, the color on the flooring is pretty representative of what the color actually is. The walls...not so much.

I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get good pictures of the room once it is done as my camera just doesn't like to take those wide angle photos. I know...I could buy a new lens, surely Todd will think it is necessary in the whole scheme of things...right?Smiley from millan.netHopefully I will figure something out as I really want to share with you all.

So, we were hoping to get the trim back up tonight and maybe put together some of the IKEA furniture but it ends up Todd has to work some overtime so I guess not BUT that is okay...I'm just so excited to be this far!

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

You're To Kind

While it is very windy outside this morning the sun is shining and that makes it a wonderful day so far!

Today's card is the other card that we did at stamp club last week. I actually found one like it from a blog that I visit but of course I don't remember which blog as I visit so may of them. I also forgot to take a photo of the inside as it is a little different.

This card is made with several items that are only available until the end of April in the Occasions Mini Catalog from SU!. The pink patterned paper is from the Sending Love Specialty paper pack and the green patterned paper is from the Sweet Pea paper pack. The Occasions Mini also offered Sweet Pea Stitched Felt which is used in the middle of the flower from the Pretties Kit. Now, the flowers in the Pretties Kit are white so I used Pretty in Pink ink and just sponged it on the flower so that it wasn't so start white. The sentiment is from the retired Whimsical Words (SAB 2010) set but any sentiment could be used in its place. I am absolutely loving the 5/8" Satin Ribbon in the OM and I have bought several of the colors. And as for the inside...the Sweet Pea patterned paper is a pocket into which we placed one of the Hugs Sending Love Notes. A Kisses Sending Love Note is on the front. Whew! That is a lot of information!

I got the rest of the trim painted yesterday so last night we put the new light fixture up. I do have to say that this isn't quite the style I had in mind for my craft room but since we only had one area to put a fixture we really wanted to make use of it. We found this light on the Lowe's website and had a little bit of a problem ordering it but as you can tell...it made it to our house. Honestly, now that it is up I don't think we could have picked anything better! The photo also gives you a little hint of the color of the room but doesn't really show it all that well. Next up on the list is to put the new flooring down. THAT I'm excited about too as I love the flooring we chose.

If you've made it this far, congrats! Thanks for reading all that! Now, off you go to have a wonderful day!Smiley from millan.net
