page plans

Good morning stampers! Have you had a wonderful weekend? We are home today from a couple of days away. It is always good to be home!

As you know Sunday is Page Plans day on my blog. Today is no exception and I have a fun card to show you!

I have combined a couple of things into today. First is, of course, the Page Plans sketch (I had to do a little rearranging on my layout)...also, Kerry's challenge for this week is to make a birthday card with purple and glitter. How do I resist that? I didn't! I pulled out my Enchanted Lily set that I got from limeLIGHT Papercrafts, colored her up and added Shimmerz (there are a ton of colors of Shimmerz at LLPC) in Angel Wings to her bottom wings and the polka dots on her top wings. I also love the Citrus Droplets that I added at the end of my ribbon. They are so fun!

So, there is something I need to let you know about Page Plans. Lesli and Chris have decided to not continue with their Page Plans weekly sketches. With that this will be my last sketch with them. I'm sad about this but I do understand that life sometimes makes it so we can't do all that we'd like. Best of luck to you in the future Lesli and Chris!

Now...have a super Sunday!

Card deets:
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, DCWV
Stamps: Enchanted Lily, Birthday Greetings
Accessories: Citrus Droplets, PTI Plum Pudding Twill

it's page plans Sunday!

Awww...darn it...today is the last day of the weekend. I did get quite a bit done so far though so that is good. One of the things I did yesterday was make this card with the Page Plans sketch for this week.

Anyhoo (get it?) I decided I really wanted to use these super cute Pebbles (called Mommy and Me from Prima) that Mandy from limeLIGHT sent me so I had to figure out a super cute patterned paper too. I hope you remember how bad I am about remembering who manufactures the paper I use because I can't remember in this case either. Sorry! The "smiles" stamp is from Amuse, and the solid color cardstocks from SU! as well as the twill. Oh, yes...I also used the Birds & Blooms Scallop Circles die in my Big Shot for the flowers.

I have a fun week of stuff coming up, personally, at my house this week. I will definitely have time for crafting and fun though so stay tuned! A week from today you get two posts...Page Plans and my Round Up card for SNSS. Very fun!

So...I bet you have tons on your plate too and I hope that you manage to get it all done! Have a super Sunday!

page plans

Good morning! Can you believe it is the beginning of March already? February always flys right bye! I had a wonderful time at the Princess Party yesterday. All the girls and table hosts looked so cute, the food was great, stories were so nicely told, and the cake was yummy! I thought clean up would be a bit of a pain but we actually had several people help us and it only took about 20 minutes. If you are one of the people that helped out yesterday thank you so much for your help...I so appreciate it!

Now, onto stamping. As you know today is Page Plans day and today's sketch is a sketch that lends itself to lots of different ways to use it. I decided to use it for Jon's birthday card. I used some October Afternoon patterned paper (just one example of the wonderful patterned paper you can get from limeLIGHT on sale right now but today is the last day so hurry on over!), Real Red, and Vanilla cardstock, a couple of fun SU! sets and I just couldn't help it...I added a couple of yellow rhinestones to the card too. Thankfully he didn't seem to mind!

This next week is a big one here on LLLC. I have a limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge (ric rac) for ya on Thursday and then a project reveal for you on Friday. Fun stuff!

Well, as usual...I need to run. I hope you have a super day today! Get lots of crafting in today!

page plans

It's Sunday! Woohoo...that means it is Page Plans day!

Today's sketch lends itself to so many different things that you can do with it. I decided to play with my new Unity Stamp set called Be Owl Mine. I paired it with a sentiment from PTI called Handwritten Notes. The paper is from Basic Grey and is the Blush series. I love the blue/brown combination. You can find many Unity stamps and Basic Grey papers at limeLIGHT Papercrafts and with 10% off your order (ends today so hurry) how could you not go shopping? Use the code PRESIDENT to receive your 10% off.

So..what do ya think? I bet you have some fun things you could make with this sketch! Want some more inspiration? Check out the Page Plans blog HERE and see what the other design team members made.

Gotta run...have a super day!

page plans and round-up...woohoo!

Good morning friends! Did you all have a fantastic Valentine's Day? I enjoyed my time with my kids and husband!

I have two cards to show you today! First...it is Sunday so it is Page Plans day! Woohoo! The sketch today is a wonderful one. I'm going to direct you to the Page Plans blog to see the sketch. My card is made with the set America the Beautiful by Kim Hughes which is available at Cornish Heritage Farms (and I see is on sale right now). I made this card because one of Jon's friends was promoted to Eagle Scout a couple of weeks ago and we wanted to give him a card (we know the entire family...as a matter of fact they were our first friends in this town). This was truly a fun card to make...so upbeat!

The other card for today is Sweet N Sassy Stamps Round Up. We get to preview one of the NEW sets that SNSS will be revealing during the blog hop...see my sidebar for more information about the blog hop. The set I'm preview is called His Eye Is On The Sparrow and is illustrated by Chris Dickinson. You will seriously love this set. I have always enjoyed the scripture that the name of the stamp set refers to. As a matter of fact I'm going to link you to Sandi Patty singing this song. I saw her perform this song at a a Women of Faith conference. Wonderful!

For this card I stamp the image on the card (4" x 4") then stamped it on about three other pieces of card stock, colored them, and then popped up the birds and full flowers. I really is completely lovely in real life. I then used my two favorite sentiments on the inside.

Now...head on over to the Sweet N Sassy Stamps blog and check out all the other design team members round up cards...you are going to be wow'd for sure!

On a personal note...if you didn't get a chance to watch the video in THIS post named Cardboard Testimonies I wish you would take just a moment and do that today.

Have a wonderful day!

page plans with a twist

Good Sunday morning everyone! Sorry I didn't post yesterday..I've been feeling a little under the weather the last couple of days so I took some time off.

Most of you know that today is Page Plans sketch day here on my blog and today is no exception. You can see the sketch we were to follow below and I did follow the sketch but I tweaked it a little bit. I wanted to make one of the neat origami boxes with cover that I saw on Lynn's blog, Stamperosity so I used the sketch to decorate the top. FUN!!

To put this together I used Lynn's directions with SU!'s Candy Lane DSP, Riding Hood Red textured card stock, a Tilda image (isn't she adorable?), a sentiment from Unity, some fabulous chocolate satin ribbon and Chocolate Pearls. Ahhh...this box just makes me happy! If you can't tell I made the heart old fashioned style...folded the card stock in half...started the cut in the folded corner and went up and around. Easy. I would guess it is about 5" across as the box is about 5 1/4". I'm not sure what I'm going to put in this box for the intended recipient (but maybe it should be something baked, huh?) but I'm pleased with this for the presentation.

Don't forget that if you entered into the contest to win The Slice from Page Plans that today is the day the winner is revealed so RUN over there right now to find out who the lucky crafter is!

On a personal note I wanted to let everyone know that I have stepped down from both the Belli Challenge Team and the Created by Courtney Challenge Chicks. I was getting to the point where I was saying...I have to stamp...instead of...I get to stamp...and I just decided to let a couple of things go off my plate. I love each of the ladies that I worked with and will miss them all!

So, you guys have a super Sunday and I'll see ya later!

you light up my life

Happy Sunday morning everyone! Today is Super Bowl day...yay! I do love football and even though my Packers are not playing I still am excited! Most of our house will be rooting for the Cardinals but one stubborn (can you tell we are having teenage issues right now?) 16 year old will be rooting for the Steelers. We will be going to a friends house to enjoy their company and BIG t.v.! Fun stuff!

As most of you know today is Page Plans day here on my blog. I do love Sunday's as most weeks I love my card and this week really is no exception. While it is a bright card I love this card! It is, of course, made with the Page Plans sketch below. The stamps I found at limeLIGHT Papercrafts and are called Shine On. Although this is not a traditional valentine card I think it would be a wonderful one with the "You light up my life." sentiment.

So...whatcha got for us with this sketch? I can really see some fun stuff with it! I really hope you'll try it!

Well, I hope you have a super day! Happy stamping, partying, or whatever you have planned for today!

page plans sunday

Good morning stampers! Sorry to be absent for a couple of days...again. I haven't had much time to get stamping done but I LOVE this sketch from Page Plans today and had to take time for it. I've actually made two cards with it but I'm showing you this one because we were asked to make a kids Valentine's Day card for today. What do you think? Kiddo enough?

This card is made with a combination of two SU! sets...Happy Heart Day and Love You Much. The patterned paper is from Target's dollar spot...last year...I'm so proud I didn't lose it or severely bend it! LOL! A little ribbon, a rub on and ta da...all done!

Don't forget about the fabulous contest that Page Plans has going on right now. All you have to do is make two new cards with Page Plans sketches, link them up to Page Plans by 7 p.m. on January 31st and you are entered in! And what could you win? A Making Memories Slice!!! Yeah...you gotta make cards anyway...why not just do it in a way that could help you win a Slice?

On another note I'd like to introduce you to a new blog. This blog is named One Life To Live. My friend, Kelli, is the author of this new blog and she is just the sweetest person. Kelli and I have known each other since we were kids and our mom's were best friends . My mom was her Aunt Cheryl and Kelli is my Cousin Kelli. More than that she is doing a wonderful thing. You see...almost 11 years ago my mom died of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Kelli is a runner for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and is currently training to come and run in the Seattle Rock N Roll Marathon on June 27th this year and she is running in my mom's name. How incredible!!! I'm sure you are wondering why I'm telling you all this, right? Well, Kelli has set a goal of raising $3900 and I am asking that, if you possibly can, you donate to Kelli's run. Even $5 will get her $5 closer to her goal and to the ultimate goal of wiping out Leukemia and Lymphoma. I truly hope that you will check out her blog and enjoy it!

Alright everyone. I hope that you have a super Sunday! Please know it will probably be a few days before I am able to get back to post again. Have a great week and I'll see you soon!

page plans sunday

Good Sunday morning stampers! You know what Sunday means...yep...another Page Plans card sketch.

For today's card it was fun to use some of my new Stampin' Up! products. As a matter of fact this card is completely Stampin' Up!.

Let's see...the patterned paper is from the new Designer Series pack called Raspberry Tart and it is layered on Pirouette Pink and White card stock. I have used two different stamp sets for this card. The flower, which is cut out and then the center cut out again and popped up, is from the new Hostess (level 3) set called Dream A Little. The 'thank you' sentiment is a single stamp that you can purchase called Elegant Thank You and is stamped on Pink Pirouette card stock as well. The swirl on the bottom was cut with a Sizzix in my Big Shot that is called Scribbles Swirls and I used Kiwi Kiss. And finally the ribbon is Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla Satin Ribbon and it is SO luxurious!

Do not forget about the great contest that Page Plans has going on! You can be entered in to win a Slice and all you have to do is make two cards with their sketches and you are all set! How easy! Their sketches are great and you can do lots of fun things with them so make sure you check it out HERE! Oh, and for even more fun on Wednesday check back as I will be making a card with the scrapbook layout and posting it here for you all to see!

I hope that you all have had a wonderful weekend. I think Kyler and I are finally going to make it to Desperaux today. Popcorn Now...go...get working on those cards with a Page Plans sketch (you do have until Jan 31st)! I would LOVE it if one of my readers won that Slice!

page plans day!

Good morning stampers! If you visit my blog regularly you know that today is Page Plans Card Sketch day. I have truly come to love when I get to sit down and create with my Page Plans sketch and this week was no exception. On to the specifics of this bright card...

So, today, there is very little stamping involved on my card. As a matter of fact the only thing that is stamped is the thank you sentiment (which is from the SU! set Upsy Daisy). The cardstock is PTI's brown and white, the patterned paper is from DCWV, and the stickers and chipboard pieces are from Cloud 9's Chocolate Chalet collection. I'm simply in love with the way this turned out. The bright colors make me happy and I can't wait to send this out to a friend of mine!

Are you planning on clicking over to the Page Plans website? I think that you should...for two reasons. One is because the other design team members did a simply fabulous job at designing this week and two is because if you click over to their sight and participate in their contest then, well, you have a chance to win the new MAKING MEMORIES SLICE!!! Yep, you could win The Slice. How...well, you will have to click HERE to go check it out. You have an entire month to play along with this contest so why not try?

In other news...I though I had another card to show you today but that has been delayed until Wednesday so on Wednesday you will have two projects to see, k?

Oh, and guess what Todd and I watched yesterday afternoon. Mama Mia...it was SO much fun! It is no Broadway production but I truly loved it for the ABBA songs, the fun dancing, and the location shots were beautiful! What took us so long to see it...sheesh! And, today, I'll be taking Kyler to see Despereaux. A very trusted friend of mine says it is fantastic! And, finally today, I will be crafting a gift for a friend. I'm not sure what it will be yet but I'm excited to get started! That makes no sense but it is okay!

Have a super day everyone!Flower

page plans sketch and card

Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend has just been super productive. I think I'm actually doing okay with mine! Yay!

As I'm sure you all remember today is Page Plans sketch day. This week we were asked to use a winter theme. You can see the sketch below and I have to tell you...I had no idea what to do. I sat on this sketch for sometime thinking of different things to do and finally came down to this. I didn't have the sentiment that is shown here so I had to ask Chris (the illustrator of this set, Snowflakes) to help me out. Wish I would have thought ahead and had her stamp the sentiment in Baja Breeze but I still like this card. In addition to the Heidi Grace patterned paper (same as last weeks' sketch) in the snowflake print I turned it over to use the argyle type of pattern for one of the layers as well as Baja Breeze card stock. For embellishment I used some PTI ribbon, Spellbinders Labels 2, SU! felt snowflakes, and the Scribbles Swirls die for my Big Shot.

So...whatcha think you got for this sketch? I'd love it see if you decide to try it. In a couple of weeks there will be a fun challenge from Page Plans for us so I hope that you'll continue checking back on Sundays.

My creating is coming along well for the Sweet N Sassy Stamps blog hop (see side column for details). I really hope you are planning on joining us for the blog hop and the new release party...it is gonna be fun!

Have a super day everyone...see ya tomorrow!

page plans sunday

Good Sunday morning everyone! Can you believe it is only 4 days until Christmas....I AM SO EXCITED!!! This is the fun part for me...torturing the kids...telling them they aren't getting what they wanted. Yes, they know it is just fun but still! LOL

Anyway, as you know today is Page Plans Sunday here on my blog. This week's sketch I thought would trip me up for sure but I think I did pretty well. Well, except for the fact that I literally just noticed I'm supposed to have a sentiment up at the top left hand corner.... Okay, so other than that...I think it is lovely and in real life has lots of sparkle! This card is made with SU!'s Lovely As A Tree stamp set, Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Heidi Grace Crystal Snow (aren't you surprised I know what it is called?) patterned paper. The sentiment is from PTI and a little taffeta ribbon attaches it. I used my white gel pen and stardust jelly roll pen to highlight and add the shimmer.

Late on Friday afternoon I was invited to a tea party along with some other wonderful women from Kyler's school on Saturday afternoon . Oh, my goodness girls...it was fantastic! It was held at another one of the parents' house and when I arrived the dining room table was completely set...beautiful china cups, plates, glasses and a tea pot for each individual person. We had a 4 course tea party starting with a palate cleansing mint sorbet type of thing (in these teeny tiny little tea cups) then zucchini pepper (red, yellow, and orange peppers so think sweet not spicy) soup, sandwiches, scones, and dessert cookies. We then were treated to yummy chocolate truffles and at the very end mints (After 8 mints...anyone else love them?). We had about 12 different teas to choose from and in honor of my paternal grandmother I chose peppermint. You see, when I was young my grandmother couldn't afford much for us for Christmas but each year I got a box of peppermint tea...you know the kind in the red and white box at Christmas time. Yum! Can I just say that I haven't stopped smiling since I left there this afternoon? Honestly...how many women get to attend a real tea party? It was so much fun!

Okay, thanks for listening to me gush and taking the time to read about the tea party! I just want you to know that I probably won't be around a lot this next week. I need to prepare for the Sweet N Sassy Stamps new release blog hop and party (over on SCS). You can learn more about it on my sidebar. Oh, did I tell you I get to giveaway a stamp set? Oh, yeah...it is going to be FUN!

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!! See you all soon!

page plans sunday

Good morning friends! I've missed posting for you all but I just really haven't been creating...well, not that I can show you right now at least.

As you know Sunday's are Page Plans day here on my blog. My card is an interesting take on the sketch this week. I'm not sure if I love it but I know the recipient I have in mind will love it.

The card is made with SNSS set called Jesus is Born. It is a new release and you can see it HERE (and it is on sale!). The patterned paper is from Holiday Harmony (?) from SU! (last year). The coloring is quite monochromatic but I think it works okay with the Always Artichoke in the background paper.

Not much more to say about this card but I do hope you'll play along...there is much you could do with this sketch. If you make something please be sure I get to see it, k?

Gotta run...have a great Sunday and go check out THIS blog candy!

page plans and paper craft planet

Good morning friends! What a great day of stamping I had yesterday. I made two cards and some little candy baskets. FUN!

This first card is my card for this weeks Page Plans sketch (that you should see to the left and below). This week we were asked to use traditional Christmas colors which to me means...red and green with maybe a little black. As you can see I simplified this sketch for my card but thought I'd have some fun with it and make a boy card.

I grabbed out my Winter Bright SSK from last year which uses Wild Wasabi and Real Red and used my Cool Dude stamp set from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. The rest is really self explanatory. Oh, except for the sentiment which I printed off my computer. So? Fun, huh?

Next is a cute little card that I made for today's Paper Craft Planet 12 Days of Christmas Contest. Today is 10 Lords A Leaping. The challenge is to make a card with a man or boy image. Premiering on my blog is Forgetful Sam from Sweet N Sassy Stamps...who, by the way, is sponsoring day 10 of the 12 Days of Christmas Contest. I just have to say that I wasn't real sure if I liked Forgetful Sam...until I got him into my house. I love him. This image is SO sweet. His eyes have so much expression and he is just such a boy. Korin did a great job of capturing his sweet "I'm sorry" expression. Anyway, I used some Basic Grey patterned paper (that I won from the SNSS Blog awhile back) called Offbeat and I must say that this paper truly is offbeat. I think I used the two most normal patterns in this pack but I'm looking forward to using the paper more! I colored Sam with COPIC markers and used some retired SU! ribbon to finish off the card. The sketch is from Verve's Holiday Release Sketch Challenges from back in November. I hope that if you aren't a PCP member you will join it...NOW! If you make a card for today's challenge please let me know...I'd love to see! Don't forget that if you upload your card to PCP you have a chance to win a prize from SNSS!

Just a couple of more things. First, next month officially starts my term as a Sweet N Sassy Stamps design team member. I'm excited to share the wonderful stamps and other DT members that SNSS has. The other thing would be...remember, if you become a follower of my Tastefully Simple blog you will get a chance (and I'm sure it is a great chance at this point) to receive a yummy Tastefully Simple sample. I'll probably send out more than one so maybe you should check it out. You can see that blog HERE. Remember to leave me a way to get a hold of you if you don't have a public profile for following blogs.

Wow this is super long but I hope that you enjoyed it! See you tomorrow!
