Winter Bright Wishlist/Receipt Holder Tutorial

Well, it looks like you all wanted to see how to make the Wishlist/Receipt Holder. Hopefully I won't forget anything as I go along. I could only put up to 5 photos in a post so I have split this into 3 different posts. Have fun!

1. Use a 7 1/2" x 12" piece of Pink Textured Card Stock scored at 2 1/2, 6 3/4, 7 1/4, and 7 3/4". I use the score in the middle of the bottom to make this holder a little more portable.

2. You'll need a 7 1/2 x 2" piece of Wild Wasabi Textured card stock, a 7 1/2" x 1 1/2" piece of Real Red textured card stock, and a 7 1/2" x 1" piece of designer paper of your choice. Decorate this as you desire. You will layer these onto each other.

3. Go ahead a mount this on the top flap of your pink textured card stock. Use 3 - 2" pieces of your choice of ribbon. Attach to your holder with a stapler.

Next post will show you how to attach the envelopes (which you'll need 8 letter sized envelopes) to your holder.

Winter Bright Tutorial Steps 5 - 9

5. Here you'll need 8 letter sized envelopes. You'll need to lick the flaps and seal them inside the envelope. Once you've done that place a line of adhesive down the middle of the first envelope.

6. Place your next envelope on top of the first and repeat this step until you have all your envelopes together.

7. You will have an accordian type of group of envelopes at this point.

8. Now flip your pile of envelopes over to the side where there is no opening. Place adhesive all the way around this side of the envelope.

9. Place those envelopes adhesive side down onto the middle section of your holder.

Final 3 Steps

10. Now, place adhesive around all the sides of your top envelope except where it opens and just fold the "bottom" flap up. This is where the score line works to help you get a good seal with your adhesive.

11. Now you get to attach your choice of closure. I use really neat magnetic snaps from Basic Grey. I purchased mine HERE. You could just as easily use Velcro.

12. You are done. You can decorate the front of your holder in anyway you wish. It might be kind of neat to put the recipients name on the front.

I hope you all have enjoyed this tutorial and that it makes sense to you! It is so easy to make but if you have any questions please let me know! Brunette

Cute!

So?! Isn't this one of the cutest things you've ever seen? Debby is a cyber friend of mine from my SUAngels Yahoo group. She has been posting these super cute coaster characters on her blog and I thought you guys might enjoy seeing them! This, as you can tell, is Frosty the Snowman. She also has made Santa and Mrs. Clause, a Rudolph, a sleepy Polar Bear, and a Dog. The best part about these cuties? She has given all the directions on how to make them! You can check out her blog HERE. Make sure you comment and say hi!

Hope your Friday has been great! See you tomorrow!

Merry Little Christmas

Awww...isn't she cute? I just love this Hanna card that I made for my step-daughter last night. Lots of fun stuff went into this card...Basic Grey Figgy Pudding card stock, watercoloring, Stickles, Fun Flock (she must have a cashmere sweater!), ribbon, and of course some chicken pox on the tree. Seriously...I totally did the little ornaments to close together and too many and I think it looks like chicken pox! I still think it is a cute card! Oh, and I totally wish I had Hanna's hair...it is gorgeous!!!

Looks like the Wishlist/Receipt Holder is leading the way in the requests for a tutorial with the Coaster Calendars in 2nd place so far. You have 2 more days to vote if you haven't yet.

Have a great Thursday!

Bella Girls

Have you ever noticed how I go in streaks of stamping with different stamp companies? Sometimes I'm doing lots of Stampin' Up!, sometimes Bella, and sometimes (soon!) Hanna Stamps. Kinda strange. Anyway, I wanted to make these two Bella cards to get off in the mail today. The top one is to send to the niece of one of the ladies on the Bellaholics Anonymous group on Yahoo. Apparently her niece does the right thing and is nice to and plays with the unpopular kiddo and gets picked on for it so her aunt asked if we'd send her a card. I'm hoping Jammiebella (sp?) will be a cute card for a quick hello. Oh, and I used my fun flock for the very first time! I know you can't see it but the teddy bear is fuzzy! I don't recall who makes it but isn't that floral background paper so cute? I thought it was perfect for a younger young lady. Oh, and I forgot to tell you the name of the person I'm sending the card to is Bella. How appropriate is that?!

Next, is one of those things where when you have a friend that has a friend that needs some uplifting...you do it! My friend Courtney has a friend who has been sick (chemotherapy), has 3 boys, and with going into the holidays could use a little pick me up. Courtney asked if we'd all send her a card. Of course...I'm totally in for this so the result of that is Billboardabella with, even though you can't see it, lots of sparkly bling. Wanna know what is really cool about this card thing? If you send Gina (Courtney's friend) a card you get entered into a chance to win a magazine subscription from Courtney! You can get full details...HERE. You have the ability to earn three chances for the subscription so go check it out today!! Oh, and while you are at her blog take a moment to scroll down about half way on the page, look to the 'labels' at the left and click on Corbin-ism. Corbin is Courtney's extremely cute son that says some extremely funny stuff. You are sure to get your daily laugh with the silly stuff he says sometimes!

I'm a busy bee today so I'll see you all later!

Winter Break Teacher Gift

What a fun gift! I got the idea from Britta's blog. I used almost all SU! for this gift. The designer paper, card stock, stickers, and fabulous satin ribbon are from SU! The large scalloped circle and the design on the Purely Pomegranate are not. The scalloped circle is a Giga punch and the design is from Gina K's store. I used paper from the designer series pack Holiday Harmony and stickers from the Hand Selected Accents tin. Both of which I just realized, were in the recently ended Holiday Mini. One little clarification is that this does indeed to go the teacher ahead of time. For us, there are 13 days of school left until winter break so I've put 13 candies inside and Kyler is taking it to school with him today.

The poem says:

When the school bell rings
And the kids go on their way
Eat a sweet treat from inside;
You're down another day!
When the sweets are finished
And there's nothing more to take
Say, "HOORAY!" & dance around
You're on WINTER BREAK!

Fun, huh? Snowman I hope you all have a super fantastic Tuesday!

More Coaster Calendars

Here are some coaster calendars I made yesterday for the ladies that attended the party. I made all five of these with the Creative License SSK that is a Level 1 hostess set. All 5 of these only took me an hour to make and that was stopping to do a couple of things here and there. I was also happy with the fact that of 5 there were only two that were the same. That is pretty good for just kinda throwing them together, huh?

I've got a very busy week ahead of me but I still plan on doing some stamping and crafting so check back!

Winter Bright Poll

To the left you will see a poll for which Winter Bright Project you'd like to see me do a tutorial on. Please choose only one. I have the poll up for a week and then within the next week it should be all set to go. Now...GO VOTE!!

As a side note. I'd love to take credit for these ideas but as I told you on the first project I've learned how to make these projects from a CD that I got from HERE. Erika is an amazing stamper and business woman! The tutorial I do will be different from hers per copy write but you'll still be happy!

No Stamping Yesterday

So, yah...since we are having a 'party' today and my stamp area has been a mess for awhile now I decided I would go ahead and clean it up. Todd said I didn't have to but I just couldn't leave it such a mess and I guess I didn't realize just how much of a mess I had! My major issue right now is storage. Because I only have a corner of the living room (which is great because I'm around the family when I'm stamping that way) there isn't any room for extra anything. And really, some of the area is for books and such that I need for other things too. My retired and 'I'm not currently using' stamp sets go in a box (or three) in the bedroom closet which means they are definitely not getting used the way they should...poor things! I'm sure they are lonely wondering why I love the other sets more!

Anyway, it took me about 2 hours total to go through everything, put things away that I don't really have room for and don't use often, re-organize, dust, and generally make the area look like I can actually use it. I made a special drawer for my Giga and Mega Punches which gave me back a lot of space on my desk. I couldn't put away my SU! or Copic markers though as I use them too often. It still is a bit messy looking but that is because I got out my Christmas cards so that I can see what I have to send and what I need to still make. It will be fun sending a different card to everyone this year.

I hope that I get some time to stamp this evening although it is going to be a very busy week for me so I may have other things to do. Have a super wonderful Sunday everyone!
