Here it is!

Well, it isn't exactly where I was going with this card but I really like how it came out! I'm going to upload this card to SCS so I'll come back and you'll be able to click HERE for what I used to make it. Now, for the directions. I can't give them to you right now as I followed a tutorial but Paula's blog is right HERE and she may have the directions on there. The colors were an inspiration from Beate's blog awhile ago. I bought the Groovy Guava Designer Paper and used it with this card. Also, the Basic Gray is just a beautiful color. I wish I could find a way to use the taffeta ribbon that matches with it on this card, too! :o) I left the Shimmery White almost blank on the inside so that I could write a note on it should I want to. The other thing is that I used Stickles on the entire flower. I started out only using it on every other petal but I really thought it needed the Stickles on the whole thing. And, yes, it is very blinggy!

Alright! Next, is a little set of goodies that I received from a fellow blogger, Rose Ann, when I join I signed up for her Pay It Forward post. All I needed was to be one of the first few people to respond and BAM! This is all mine! Don't you just love that bird stamp? Cute, cute, cute! Now the thing is that I have to Pay It Forward on my blog sooooo....

The first two people that comment on this post will receive some stampin' stuff! One person will receive the 2-5-7-10 box with Primas inside and the other person will receive the fun Studio G set that I got from Rose Ann (I already have this set) along with some Primas. If you are one of the first two go ahead and e-mail me your postal information so I can get these things out to you next week. Not sure how I'm going to mail that box but I'll see what I can do!

Alright...there you have it! Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

Hmmmm....

Wanna see why I didn't post yesterday? Well, because this is all I could come up with in respects to the card I was trying to make to show you. I had originally started out with a new style of card from another website but I just couldn't get it to come out correctly and ruined TWO beautiful pieces of Basic Gray paper that I just got. Grrr...So, I decided to try a different card. Although I think it will be lovely when I finally figure out how to finish it off it just isn't coming together the way I want.

So, for now...this is what you get. I'm giving myself until 10:00 a.m. to just goof around on this Saturday morning then I'll be exercising and cleaning up the house a little. Hopefully, this afternoon will be better in the creative department for me!

Wish me luck!

Another Season of Joy

Okay...here is the card that I was waiting for my SU! order to come so I could finish it. Here is the thing...I decided not to use the card stock that came yesterday. I did use the new, yummy, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon that came in the order though!

Anyway, the sketch is from SCS's sketch challenge for this week and the stamping on the Cuttlebugged background is an idea from another stamper on her blog. Sadly I did not star it before clicking out of the blog and can't tell you whose original idea that was. I wasn't able to capture it in the picture but I used my Copic Glitter Pen on several places on the saying. And, the shiny patterned paper is the wrapping paper from SU! that is in in the Holiday Mini. Very fun and very safe even if you'd like to use it in your scrapbooks as it is acid and lignen free along with being buffered! Cool, huh?

You can see all the ingredients I used to make this card HERE. Just give me a minute to get it up on SCS.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Yay! A Card!

So, I promised you a card, right? Well, here is one that I received in the mail today that is so much better than the one I came up with! I got this super cute card in the mail today from my friend Janel! She was thanking me for some help I gave her with a card but I just say that she is the most awesome stamper and doesn't really need my help!

Anyway, thank you so much Janel!

A Couple of Things

Good morning everyone! I don't have a card for you yet as I'm waiting for a SU! order to arrive today to show you a card that I'm making.

1. World Card Making Day is October 6th and I will be hosting an event where we'll make 2 cards. One for you to keep and a holiday card for the troops to send home. It starts at 1:00 p.m. and cost is $5. Please let me know if you are interested!

2. If you were in the Fall/Halloween Swap would you please let me know if you have received your cards. I just want to make sure that everyone received their cards and are absolutely thrilled!

3. If you are a member of the Demo List SUDSOL I'm hosting a Season Of Joy swap through which only SUDSOL members can swap. Please let me know if you are interested!

I'll be back later this afternoon (it could even be this evening as UPS comes really late to my house) with a card to share with you!

File Folder Book

Awhile back I saw that Taylor was selling a very cool File Folder Book kit. Well, I just had to have one for myself because I LOVED hers! I just got mine in the mail a couple of days ago so I had to take measurements (so I can make more of them!) and make my Book!

Isn't it just gorgeous?! The kit came with the file folder pre-scored for me, all the paper pre-cut and labeled so I knew which piece went where. The only thing I needed to do is add some stamping on a couple of panels. I think the circle panel (panel 3) looks okay and the front looks great (I think!), but I'm not in love with the first inside panel's stamping. Also, I should have gotten a little closer photo for you so you could see it better because the paper is just beautiful! I don't know what it is but if I could find more I would! The pull out panels say...Dreams, Family Traditions, Memories, and We Are Family. Oh, and the SU! Chocolate Satin Ribbon keeping it all together...amazing! You should order some before the Holiday Mini expires...I guarantee you won't be disappointed in it!

I'm going to send this one to the Chemo Patient that I angel for her 40th birthday. Don't you think that this is perfect for a 40th birthday? I'm trying to decide on what else I should send her so if you have any suggestions please let me know!

Hope your Tuesday has been great! See you tomorrow!

Pumpkin Ornaments

I've had the instructions to make these pumpkin ornaments forever. I think I didn't make them before now because I was afraid I wouldn't get how to make them because sometimes my brain just doesn't work so that I understand how other people write out directions. Anyway, last night I sat down to make them and it took me about 20 minutes to make these two and that is having Todd show me how the ribbon was supposed to go and tying and re-tying the ribbon on them both to get them to look how I wanted. These really are very simple to make! Here are my directions based on the directions that I got from Coleen on SUDSOL.

Large Pumpkin
12 - 1"x6" strips of your choice of DP. I used SU!'s Creepy Crawly paper
1. You just take the strips and lay them on top of each other so you have a pile of 12 strips on top of each other.
2. Punch a hole with the small hole end of your Crop A Dile 3/8" from the edge of each end. I centered my holes.
3. Tie a knot in your chosen ribbon. Take the the non-knot end of your ribbon and thread that through the front of what you want the outside of the pumpkin to be. The knot will be outside the bottom of the pumpkin. Now trim the end of the ribbon as I'm sure it is all frayed and place it through what is now the top hole of the pumpkin towards the outside of the ornament.
4. My directions said to tie a knot and then spread the strips of paper to make your pumpkin but what I did was make the pumpkin look like I want it to and then I made a loop and tied the knot. Does that make sense? If not I'll make another pumpkin and have Todd take a couple of picture of it for you.
5. Lastly, I used a little Crystal Effects in between the layers of the top of my pumpkin because the strips of paper kept moving around on me.

All the directions are the same for the small pumpkin except the paper strips are 3/4" x 4". I think the mini-pumpkin is cute but I really like the large one the best!

I'm also thinking of making some ornaments for Christmas with this particular method. It could be really pretty! Can't wait to try it!

I hope you all have a spectacular day!

Scor Pal

Good Sunday Morning Everyone!

Today I want to show you my new Scor-Pal, how to use it, and a card I made with it. First of all this thing is so easy to use! For the purpose of taking the pictures I had Jon actually use the Scor- Pal. The first picture is of the Scor-Pal itself and the tool that you will use to make the score (it is in the upper right hand corner). The nice thing is that I got an extra tool that is taped to the back side of the Scor-Pal that I intend on leaving there so that I don't lose it! :o) It is a nice light weight which makes it even more convenient.

First, you place your paper on the Scor-Pal in the direction that you need in order to make the score that you'd like. For this demonstration I am just scoring a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of card stock in half to make the standard size card of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.

Here is the easy part...just place the tool (straight up and down) in the groove of the Scor-Pal and start to run the tool down along the card stock. It will flow very easily. I was worried at first that I would go off the track and ruin the card stock but indeed the groove is the perfect depth and I would have had to really work at it to mess it up!

I realized after I took the pictures that I wanted to show the gate fold and should have taken picture of that instead BUT you know what is great? The direction for the gate fold and 3 (I think) other folds are right on the package. It literally only took me seconds to score for this gate fold because the Scor-Pal is so easy to use and the directions are so clear! Scor-Pal has a fantastic website where you can go get directions for new folds and see what other people have created. You can view that HERE. The card I made to show you is a gate fold that I made for Todd. Not very fancy but you get the idea!

So...quickly, go to the Scor-Pal website and purchase one for yourself...you'll not regret it!
