Better Get Better

Good Saturday morning everyone! I thought I'd show you a Bella that I made a couple of weeks ago. I made this card for my friend Jennifer. Why would I need to send her a 'Better Get Better' card? Because she had her Gall Bladder removed! Think I know anything about that? LOL! You know what I do know? That I'm a big baby 'cuz Jennifer has not had nearly the pain or problems that I had after my surgery. Here I thought I had a high tolerance for pain. Guess not! Anyway, her surgery gave me a great reason to use a Docabella image that I had gotten. The layout is from Beate's blog sketch from last week. I should have centered Bella a little better on the white but once I punched it...that was it as it was the only image that I had. Wanna hear something kinda funny? I, at first, colored Docabella's legs a flesh color and then realized that since this was a get well card maybe she should have pants on so I colored them a different color. Still not sure that I like that part of it but oh, well!

Well, my friends, I need to go clean up and start my day! Hope you have a very productive stamping day today!

Its Friday!

Woohoo, everyone, it is Friday! We've only been in school a couple of days and already I'm looking forward to the slow down of the weekends...if you can call it that!

Anyways, I made this card yesterday for our friend who had to have his wisdom teeth pulled on Tuesday. It was a major surprise to him and he seems to be doing well but I thought it would be nice to send a card. I tried to make it masculine but I'm not sure if I managed or not. I just love this Farm Fever set for these type of cards. Anyway, The details will be HERE...just as soon as I go and put this on SCS.

The kiddos are just getting up so I should get moving this morning! I hope you have a fantastic Friday!

First Day of School!

Well, today is the first day of school! What a fun, nerve wracking time it can be! Jon was off without any problems this morning. Just get him to school and he is fine! I walked Kyler to school and took him in so I could see his classroom. It looks great! His teacher this year is very structured and organized so it will be a bit of an adjustment from last year but I know he'll be just fine! As some of you may know we are big Green Bay Packer fans (being that we hail from Wisconsin!) and Kyler got some new clothes from grandma this summer SO he had to wear all Green Bay stuff on the first day. Grandma even got him a GB backpack and lunch box so he was a walking blur of green and gold this morning! LOL! At the end of the year last year I realized that Kyler is my youngest (should that really have been a surprise?) and therefore I was watching him do all the firsts for the last time. I was so sad! It continues some today as I can hardly believe he is in 4th grade. Just knowing how fast the time went with the other two I know it will fly right by with him too. I guess I should have learned to treasure every moment...and I do! I wanted to take a picture of Jon this morning too but we were in a rush to get out of here when Jon wanted so...no picture. However, Kyler suggested we stage a picture this afternoon, just not under the clock 'cuz that would give us away! :o)

So, I have been seeing lots of really neat teacher gifts come through on my Yahoo groups and I decided that maybe I should make something for Kyler's teacher so...I did. I made another 2-5-7-10 box and decorated it with some apples in a pail. I am SO please with how this turned out so even if his teacher isn't thrilled with it...I am! You can see how I made it HERE.

I hope you all have a great day!

Baby Pails

Two babies were born to co-workers of Todd's at roughly the same time. Did I do something for them when the babies were born? Noooo, I had to procrastinate 'til now. We are going to a shift BBQ tomorrow night where both families will be there so I decided to get the Pails done for them now. Since we are going to be giving them at the same time I couldn't make them exactly the same even though I had the same paper for both. So...how do you think I did? Believe it or not both pieces of main paper are 4" wide. One is just placed in the center of the pail with ribbon on the top and bottom and the other at the bottom with ribbon to finish on the bottom. They are fairly similar but hopefully enough different that they will both be excited! I have to tell you about the letter "k" on the Kailer can. I had used all my chipboard letter "k"'s for stuff for my Kyler (yep the same name only spelled differently!) so I used the negative image from the chipboard set and traced it onto a chipboard coaster, cut it out, and then decorated it. Now, it is a little flimsier than the other one but it works just fine for decoration. Oh, and I have to tell you that I LOVE SU!'s Anywhere Glue Sticks for decorating chipboard! It goes on easily, dries quickly, and has great holding power! If you haven't already...try it! Today, I just have to find things to fill the can with! I'm such a procrastinator sometimes! :o)

Oh, yeah...Ms. Procrastinator also needs to do the gift for Kyler's teacher yet today. School starts TOMORROW! Ahhh...why do I do that to myself?!

Anyway, I hope you all have a splendiforous day!

300th Post!

This is my 300th post! Wow...that is so cool! Who would have known I had so much to say...alright, all of you! LOL!

Today's card is a Halloween card. I don't make many of these cards but I do think this set, Batty for You, is super cute! This is made with last years designer paper called Halloween Night as I don't have any of this years yet. I hope to order it on Wednesday though! You can find all the details for this card HERE. I just might have to make some more card 'cuz this one really put me in the mood to make Halloween stuff. There are some really cute boxes that people are showing off right now that I may have to try out!

I also need to be making a little back to school gift for Kyler's teacher. Not sure what it will be but something fabulous (hint, hint) I'm sure!

Have a very fun Labor Day!

Ooops! Sorry!

Geeze, I didn't get back here yesterday to post a photo. So, sorry about that! I hope you enjoyed looking at the specials that Stampin' Up! is having. I also want to remind my stamping friends to keep Oct 6th open for a stamping event at my house to celebrate World Card Making Day. Right now, I'm thinking we'll be stamping some cards for the troops!

Here is the third Pick A Petal Card that Heidi sent from our swap. Isn't it GOJUS?! I do believe she used Groovy Guava for the ink and where you see lighter colors it if the Groovy Guava stamped off. I believe she used a saran wrap type of technique for the background. Super easy to do with a great effect. Just take a piece of saran wrap, ink it up on your ink pad, and then pounce it on your cardstock. Practice a little on a scratch piece of paper first so you get the color you are looking for but other than that...easy as pie!

I hope you are all having a fantastic Labor Day weekend! See you tomorrow!
