Need some snow?

If you need some snow...come my way! We have gotten about 8 inches here in the last day and a half. On Thursday we got about 6 inches and then yesterday we had a ton of wind with snow. Many people in my area were without power. They had to pull electricity from the wind farm in order to get all the residences up and running with electricity! This has definitely been what I consider a real Northwest winter! Here are a couple of pictures.

I did do some stamping last night but it isn't done yet. I have started a gift for Kyler's teacher. He has a male teacher this year so I was a little stuck for what to do. BUT, I decided that everyone needs cards to write thank yous on so that is what I'm making. I'm using the retired SU! set Fly Fishin' and making them very simple. They actually look really nice so far. Today I will be stamping the front of the folder to put the envelopes and note cards in. Instead of ribbon to close the folder I'll probably use twine or something like that. Or, if I have to, I'll use a brown or blue grosgrain. Anyway, I'll post it tomorrow. I may do a post it note holder for him as well but it depends on sizing with the set.

I hope you all have a spectacular Saturday!

The last of the pictures.

Well, here are the last couple of pictures from Vegas. We arrived late on Sunday night so we just went to our hotel (The Signature) and signed in. We were pretty hungry though so we ordered room service. Who doesn't like room service? I was excited to see what room service would be like at this place as it was pretty up scale and very nice. We ordered shrimp cocktail and stuffed potato skins (they didn't call it that but that is what they were). The shrimp came in a mason jar looking thing packed in water, ice, and veggies...the dipping sauces were in baby jars...and the lemon to squeeze on the shrimp was wrapped in lace. Very cute! The potatoes skins were stuff with bacon, crab, and meatballs...not all on one though. they were yummy with the *real* sour cream they brought us. I say real because I only buy low fat or fat free sour cream...what a treat!

On Monday we did most of the *strip* seeing. No!! Not that kind of strip! That is when we went to most of the hotels/casinos and did the sightseeing stuff. One of the things we enjoyed the most was going up in the "Eiffel Tower" at the Paris Hotel. I'm not much of an elevator person (especially if you can see outside of it!) so the ride up was not much fun for me and took FOREVER!!! Anyway, the view was beautiful! Just about everywhere you go they take your picture and you can view them for possible purchase later. We did buy pictures because we knew that we wouldn't have many of the two of us. So here we are at the base of the Eiffel Tower.

The other really neat part was going into the Venetian Hotel. It has some great shops and a water way inside. Everything is so bright inside the hotels that you lose time. Anyway, we choose to go on a gondola ride. We needed to sit for a little while anyway and it looked so nice. It was lots of fun..except for the people staring at you as you go by. You see the shops are lined with sidewalks (of course) and the water way is in the middle so everyone stops and watches the gondola's going by. I didn't really like being in someones picture but I guess when you do that stuff you put yourself out there for that kind of thing. Anyway, here is that picture.

Lastly, on my list anyway, was the Bellagio water show at night. I had seen it during the day and it was VERY neat. At night it is even better. The first time it was choreographed to Singin' In The Rain. This time it was to the Hallelujah Chorus. The cannons that shoot that water up have got to have so much pressure behind them because the water at some points goes up at least 100 ft. in the air. Very impressive! Here is the last shot of the show.

All in all it was a wonderful time! If we were to do something like this trip again though...we'd go someplace warm! It wasn't bad in Nevada but it was only in the upper 50's. Something in the 80's sure would be nice right now!

Thanks for looking all!

Here are a few more picutres!

Okay here a few more picture of our time in LasVegas.

Oops...didn't know they would load like that! Sorry! Anyway, the first picture is of Todd (silly face...sorry...didn't capture the picture at the right time!) and a completely made of flowers, polar bear! This was in the Bellagio Hotel. They set this area up differently depending on the season. It was absolutely beautiful! The polar bear was made of carnations with just individual petals being used for his snout. You can see the reindeer in the background. They were made of nuts of some sort. Also, there were some roses ornaments that were just beautiful!

The second picture is of one of the views from our hotel at night. We were on floor 36 (thank God the elevator was fast!). I had asked to upgrade our room when we checked in and we got a one bedroom suite on the 36 floor...just two floors from the top! As you can see we had a great view!

The third picture is of me and Todd at the Coke factory. I just had to have our picture sitting on the bear. Boy, I was having some good hair days while I was there! Sorry about that but usually on trips my hair looks horrible! This was such a fun place with so much Coke stuff...who would have known?

I'll post a couple of more photos tomorrow and then I'll be done boring you with the trip. It sure was fun, though!

Make today a great Thursday!

I'm baacckk!!!

Hello all! Todd and I just returned from Vegas at about 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. It's been a very long day as we go up this morning at 4 a.m. to be to the airport by 5 for our 7 a.m. flight! So, if I calculate it correctly I've already been awake for about 10 hours today...could be why I'm so tired! Todd is in taking a nap as he has to work tonight but I'll just go to bed early tonight.

We had a fabulous time! Once you get past the fact that just about everyone there is rude and they don't know how to say excuse me or please and thank you...it's a much better time! Oh, and good Lord! Don't worry about going broke because of gambling (which we did not do ANY of...not even a penny slot!) you'll go broke tipping everyone! Sheesh! Everyone wants a tip on top of their regular wage!!! Here is a picture of me and Todd at a restaurant we found in the Golden Nugget on Freemont St. and it was FABULOUS!!! It is called The Grotto (it's Italian food) and is right inside the Golden Nugget. Our appetizer salads were called Pear Carpacciobosc pears with baby spinach, tomatoes, Gorgonzola, and sherry balsamic vinaigrette) and Pomodori e Cetrioli (thin sliced tomatoes and cucumbers with Gorgonzola and extra virgin olive oil)...yum, yum, yum, yummmmm!!! We are going to try and replicate the Pear Carpaccio here at home. Honestly, of all the places we ate while in Vegas this not only had the best food but it also had great ambiance, prices, portions, and wait staff!!! If you go to Vegas you must eat there! I'm busy uploading the other 73 pictures I took. If you'd like me to send you a slide show of our trip just e-mail me or post a comment and I'll do it!

Where are pictures of the stamped items? You don't get one today! Or, probably tomorrow...sorry! I'm going to get these pictures order from Snapfish today (uploading them there now!) and then when I receive them I'm going to scrapbook them right away...I don't want to forget to much detail! We had some really silly things happen! Hopefully I will get some stamping in before the pictures come (have to really...gifts to make!) and when I do you guys will be the first to see!

Missed you all!
