to round out the gift...

Good Saturday morning stampers! Just a quick post for you today. Here are the cards and tags that I made to go in the stationary box from yesterday.

The A2 cards probably look familiar as they are basically the same as the cards I made to go in my birthday box in a bag HERE. Yeah...have I ever told you that I like the Bella Rose paper...just a little?!

I really like the 3x3 cards that you can see below. Simple but perfect to attach to a gift for a friend and the little tags...how cute are they? Oh...do you like the new ribbons I got from SU! the other day. It is the ribbon on the little to/from tags. Very pretty! I think these cards and tags really round out the stationary box so well! Todd's mom's birthday is tomorrow but I don't think I got the package out in time...bad DIL I am!

Tomorrow I'll be showing you, what I think is, a very pretty CD holder. I hope you'll be back to see it!

I hope that you all have a super Saturday! We have a fun and full day planned today from a 1st birthday party to some stamping later...yay!

it is friday!

Woohoo...it's Friday! What a wonderful feeling that is, huh? Today, as promised, is the gift I made for Todd's mom for her birthday. Yes, it is a stationary box. This one, however, is made with the Bella Rose designer paper that I love.

Today I have the pictures of the outside and inside of the box. Tomorrow...the cards and tags. This box was SO much easier making the second time around. Maybe it is because I had one to look at...yeah...I think that is it! I just know that she will love it!

What do you think? Do you like the Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, and Pink Pirouette? I think it is very soft and inviting. I do have to say that I love the beautiful "red" satin ribbon. It is not SU! I got it from Texas Jody Lynn and ribbon share she had some time ago. Lovely isn't it?

Yesterday was an interesting first day of school. I got a call from Kyler at about 1:30 p.m. saying he had a tummy ache and side ache. Well...I got him a doctor appointment and picked him up, afraid of appendicitis. Alas, it wasn't that and he is fine...whew! It could be a couple of things though that I'll need to keep an eye on but for now...business as usual! If you'd like to see 1st day of school pictures you can go HERE.

Oh, and here is a school funny for you...*A little girl had just finished her first week of school. I'm just wasting my time,' she said to her mother. 'I can't read, I can't write, and they won't let me talk!* Now that is something I would have said in school 'cuz if you think I'm a chatterbox now...you should have heard me in elementary school. Poor teachers!

I hope that you have a super Friday and please stop back tomorrow to see the cards and tags that went inside the box! Oh, and again, you know I have to do it...

sweet n sassy new release party sketch challenge

Yikes! Today is the first day of school! I'm sure you are so excited to see pictures so I'll be sure to post a couple for you tomorrow (thank you for putting up with it!). Kyler's classroom looks good and I am so thrilled to have him back with the classmates he started his school career with!

Now onto the card...this is the card that I made with the sketch challenge on Sweet N Sassy Stamps new release night. I just love my Olivia's designer jammies! It is hard to see but there are stars on the bluish background paper. I don't recall who the patterned paper is from but it is so funky, isn't it? FUN!

Tomorrow I have the birthday gift that I referenced earlier in the week to show you AND I'm already done with my Created by Courtney challenge for next week...woohoo!

What are you guys working on? Come on...do share! I hope you have a super Thursday and get lots done!

belli challenge #32

Good morning ladies! Today is Wednesday and I know at least one person has been excited to see my Belli Challenge today! Did you guess what the challenge is? Yep, anything school. So, you know how this works...I make something with things that I've had for some time (does a week count? lol!) and then you do the same thing, post to Chris's blog, and then, hopefully, win a neato prize!

So, here is my project for this week. I decided to do a back to school project for Kyler's teacher...even though his teacher is in her first year (yes, that makes me a little nervous). Have you seen these super cute backpacks on different blogs? Would you love to make one? Well go HERE and you will find a video tutorial! Woohoo!

As always...post your school creation Chris's blog for a chance to win a fun prize! And another as always there are other players to show you some fun stuff so go check it out!

Holly Brown
Rochelle Wick
Shelly Koskinen
Jennifer Greko (?)
Christi Thorsen
Karen Foltz (guest designer)

Make sure you check out Chris's blog above for a great project and all the extra deets on the challenge!

Well, tomorrow is the first day of school for Jon and Kyler. It has been a long summer but, honestly, I'm not looking forward to letting my boys go. I will be fine and find plenty of things to do to keep me busy but these are my kiddos and I always miss them. Sappy, I know! I'm just telling you ahead of time so you are ready for the first day of school pics...k?

I'm working on Todd's mom's birthday present and will probably show that to you on Friday. You've seen these before...I'm just making a new and prettier one for his mom. Intrigued? Stop back to see!

Finally you know I have to do it....

created by courtney challenge #3

I have been posting in the mornings since I started my blog so it will take me some time to get into the habit of posting at night. Sorry if you were here early to see today's post! Anyway...here is my Created by Courtney challenge for week #3!

This weeks technique is called Rolling Marbles and you can see an SCS tutorial right HERE. Can you believe that with three boys in the house I don't have any marbles (no brain jokes now!). I had to go borrow some from the church! Anyway, I combined rolling marbles with the technique challenge from the SNSS new release party which is the grid technique to created the paper you see on my card. I have to say that the rolling marbles technique is pretty fun and I probably went a little overboard on the color.

What do you do to join in on the fun? Well, just make a card with the Rolling Marbles technique, go to Courtney's blog, and leave a link to your card in her comments section. You will even have the opportunity to win a little prize from Courtney! If you choose to upload your card to SCS please use the keywork CBCC03 so that we can all find your card! Have fun! Here are links to the other challenge chicks...

sweet n sassy new release party challenge #1

Just thought I'd post a quick card for you today so you can get back to BBQing or whatever fun thing you have planned today.

Sweet N Sassy stamps had a new release party last night on their new forum and the first challenge was to use orange, black, and white. Orange? Yikes! Orange is not a color I use often nor is Halloween a holiday I make cards for (fall/autumn yes...but didn't have stamps out for that) at all so what to do? Use a scripture, SU! Hawaiian Papaya (I think that is the name) designer series paper along with some embellishments. So...what do you think? It is probably one of the quickest cards I've ever made that is for sure! I already have a recipient in mind for it so I must have done something right!

So...there you go...a quick card and now you are off to enjoy the day with your family! See you all tomorrow with my Created by Courtney Challenge for this week!

beate's back!

Good Sunday morning everyone! Sometimes it is the easiest cards that say the most. I got the main image from Unity Stamps (when Sarah talked me into it!). I saw that Beate is back with her weekend sketch challenge and just knew I had to participate with this sentiment today.

The main image is large at 2 1/2" x 4" but I knew it would work well with a 3" X 6" layout and I was right...yay! I used some 29th Street Market (by My Mind's Eye) patterned paper and then turned it over for the complimentary bluish color. I added some Purely Pomegranate cardstock and ribbon along with an additional Verve Stamps complimentary sentiment and there it is! Easy schmesy lemon squeezy!

Thank you for the well wishes about the parade yesterday. Kyler and I had a great time! He rode on the float and I walked along side helping the walking kids pass out candy and handing out book marks and saying hi to everyone. It was much fun!

Oh, and please forgive me if I don't make sense sometime from here forward (I guess things would really be the same then huh? lol!) as I'll be scheduling my posts the night before they post due to school starting and that type of thing. Please be patient as I get used to my new schedule. Thanks guys!

I hope you all have a nice and relaxing Sunday! I'll see you tomorrow!
