bettina buttercream

Good Saturday morning everyone! Here is a card with Bettina Buttercream that I made for my friend, Debby's, birthday on Wednesday last week. The card stock colors don't look very good here but it really was quite lovely together. The pinkish color is Bazzil Bling paper and the purple is PTI Plum Pudding...just beautiful together! I used my Cuttlebug with the birthday embossing folder added some DP and ribbon and voila! It was done. Now what you can't see is all the bing on the card...Bettina's wings have glitter, the cherries are glittered, the embossed area has glitter it is really quite shimmery in real life. I was little intimidated to color her but she was quite fun and I have to say that I had fun with the image! Looking at it now I see some thing that I could have added to it but I procrastinated to long making it and needed to be done. Now...if my Stamping Bella order would just arrive so I can give her the bottle of Bella Dots that I got her!

Kyler is safely home from camp and I'm a bit ticked. The nurse did not give him is medicine likes she was supposed to and he has had some pretty bad reactions to the mosquito bites that he got. I put pictures on my family blog if anyone is really interested in seeing just e-mail me and I'll send ya a link. Poor guy! He said it was fun but doesn't want to go back just because of the bugs. He wore bug spray the entire time he was gone, too! As a matter of fact...the smell was still on him after he showered last night! I won't go into it to much to suffice it to say I'm quite frustrated with the camp right now!

Hopefully today will be a day when I get to work with my new SU! stuff. It has been sitting here looking at me but I do have some other things to get done today soooo...we'll have to see!

I hope you all have a fantastic Saturday and have lots of time for crafting!

whale wishes

This fun little card (4 1/4 x 4 1/4) was made for one of the boys that Todd has in his high school boys Bible study group during the school year. Two weeks ago this young man (entering his sophomore year) had surgery on his back for scoliosis and he got home earlier this week. He will be flat in bed for about a month so we decided that we needed to give him a little something. So, I made this card (it isn't too girlish or babyish...right?), we got a couple of movies at Walmart yesterday and will fill the basket with the movies, some popcorn and other treats and take it to him probably this weekend. He is a very polite kid so he'll probably say he likes it all even if he doesn't.

Guess what I got yesterday? Yep, my new SU! order. I liked a lot of the stuff and with the extra 20% off that demos get at pre-order I knew I had to have almost all of it...yep, I'm spoiled! I'm hoping to make a couple of creations with it this weekend but I have some other things to work on as well so we shall see. The most exciting thing for me is the new scallop punch as I dislike using my corner rounder for scallop borders so I really hope it works well!

And...today...today is the day I get to go pick up Kyler! I have missed him so much while he's been gone! I'm car pooling with another mom and we'll get up to the camp around 11, have lunch with them, hang out for a little program and then probably be home by 3 at the latest. Kyler is going to freak when he sees his room though because it is a total mess! We moved all the toys out from under his loft bed and cut the bed down to a more normal size, yet a size where we can still use it for some storage underneath. The plan is to go through the toys tomorrow (I hope) and have his room back in order quickly. Tonight is pizza and a movie night and I think that will be good due to the tired factor.

Just a little more news and then I'll leave you along, k? Please take a look at my side bar. You will see a way cool 3 Little DReaMs Design Team tag making my part in the DT official...woohoo! Also, you will see the links to all the DT members that were just announced yesterday! We had 15 (I believe) applications and could only choose 6 so it was SUCH a hard decision! In the end Katie chose (and did a great job I must say) Sarah Anderson, Sparkle Bliatout, Courtney Fowler, Dani Marcus, Melissa Earnest, and Heidi Michael. Congratulations to all of you girls!

I hope you guys have a super See you tomorrow!

lots of mojo?

I made this lovely card for Mojo Monday on the Poetic Artistry blog. On the first Monday of the month Julee picks the two mojo-est cards and those two people get to choose a set of their choice for free from Verve Stamps...now why would I not try for that? You all should too!

So, this card is made with the Verve Stamp set called Petals & Stems and is actually a set that I won from Julee! The colors are Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi, and PTI White. I don't recall where the designer paper is from but I do love it. I used my Swiss Dots embossing folder to carry over the dots from the flowers as well as the dots in the scallops. Although the sentiment isn't in a circle I still think it works. I can't used those butterflies without making a 3-D butterfly so the butterfly on this card is 3-D and uses Blue Bayou on the sides and Soft Sky in the front. The green on the middle layer is actually a piece of stitched ribbon just placed down further so you can only see the top stitch. There is lots of bling but it doesn't show well. I used my stardust pen for the flower and the butterfly. There is Frosted Lace Stickles in the scallops, and Dot Sparklers from Stampendous in the corner.

I was reading the parent dispatch from the camp that Kyler is at and it said that the campers had some FOB time yesterday. Are you wondering what FOB time is? Flat On Bunk time...which means...the campers are tired, probably a little squirrelly and stinky and they need to have some down time. How funny is that?! I can just imagine what he'll be like when he gets home! I think we'll have some FOB time here too!

I hope you all have a lovely

another rak

I had forgotten that I had this super cute card to show you. I got this card some time back from Melissa Ferr for the Bella Sistahs Unite RAK day. It was a day where everyone was supposed to send a Bella card to another Sistah. Fun idea! Anyway, Melissa sent me this one. You can see her blog HERE.

Well, girls...I'm way behind in the voting for the SheetLoad of Cards contest. If you haven't voted yet and would like to vote for me to be a guest designer on SheetLoad please go HERE and vote for me!

On another note. Korin, the owner of Sweet N Sassy Stamps has the cutest niece who is quite sick right now. Korin has decided to have a fundraiser for the family. From Korin's blog...

"From today through July 31st I will be donating 50% from each stamp set sold to the Joseph family (not including Sarah Kay and Rachelle Anne Miller). So if you've been thinking about getting some stamps sets, now is the time to do it! If you have any questions, please let me know."

Here blog is HERE if you'd like to go see the entire post. Even though I just ordered some stamps I may go and order just a couple of more just to help out a little...I hope you can too!

Another busy day ahead of me today and because I slept in I am behind already so I must go. Have a super day today!

torture and an rak

Yep, I'm going to torture you in the form of making you look at a picture of the boys that went to camp on Sunday BEFORE you get to see the cute RAK I got! HA! Now...aren't they the cutest?! The Theme at camp this year is "Pirates Cove" and the idea is knowing where your real treasure it at. What boy won't like the Pirate theme?

Okay, okay...I know that is enough torture! Now on to the cute RAK I received. Kimmie from Crafting for Sanity sent me this super cute card (which she admits she didn't make but thought I'd like it...which I do!), a Studio G stamp set, and some neat fabric embellishments! I love it all Kimmie thank you so much!

Today, should be a busy day. I'll be exercising, going to work, having lunch with a friend, getting my hair cut (with a pedicure! woohoo!), and then I'll be taping off my kitchen island thing so I can paint it. I'll actually do that on Wednesday though and if I'm successful with that small thing then I'll be painting the laundry room too! Yay! Oh, and somewhere in there I should probably make some cards and such, huh? LOL!

With that long list of things to do I should probably get moving but I want you to know about a fun place to be able to win some High Hopes stamps. Yep, I do love those stamps and you can win some at Artfully Ila! Go check it out!

Have a terrific Tuesday and I'll see you all tomorrow!

it's monday!

Good morning to everyone! I am currently gone but scheduled this post for you. This is the new Iwishilookedsogoodonabikeabella. What a name, huh? The layout is from the Stamp Something sketch challenge from June 20th. I know, I know...I'm a little late but better late than never, right?

I'm not sure I like the white gel pen on the outside of this card but it is there so what can I do at this point. The patterned paper is from SU!'s Cutie Pie paper pack (so glad I bought another before it was too late!). The image I got from my friend Debby (hi debby!). I know the ric rac doesn't look like it matches but in real life it is a great accent. Anything that is silver, yellow, or pink is sparkly and so cute! I put a white piece of card stock on the inside and stamped "enjoy life" as the sentiment.

I'll be back later today and hopefully will have something new for you tomorrow! Have a super Monday everyone!

not sure about this one

I don't know if you guys visit the blog Taylored Expressions but she has a cupcake challenge each week. This week I finally decided to participate. You do not have to use cupcakes but it is encouraged. However, when I saw the sketch I thought it would work well with this image that I got in an image swap. I've been wanting to use this image for sometime but I'm not in love with the card itself. The image sentiment says...Listen honey - God didn't promise it would be easy...he only promised it would be worth it! Don't you just love that? I added the sentiment at the bottom that says...I'm here if you need me...it is from Verve Stamps. Here is the thing about this card...I like what it stands for but I don't really like my execution of the card. However, I don't believe that the person who will, someday, receive this card will really care what it looks like. Right?

Today we take Kyler to his first church camp experience. He is going to Tall Timber and will be there until Friday morning. Yikes...5 days! He has been away for that long before (last summer) with family but never to a camp. Now...I'm sure all will be fine but I am nervous about it. He, however, is very excited! I'm so glad he isn't feeling my anxiety!

Tall Timber is about 30 minutes outside of my favorite Washington town, Leavenworth. Todd and I have stayed at Leavenworth B&B's many times and I love the quiet of the little town. All of that said...Todd got us a reservation at our favorite B&B (which we haven't been able to get to in some time now), Abendblume. While we'll probably be to late to browse the shops, we'll have dinner at our favorite place, Mozarts, and then head back to the Abendblume to enjoy our room and the wonderful view it provides. It is so nice to have an adult child living at home as Scott will take care of the dogs while we are gone so we don't have to worry about it...yay!

I have a post scheduled for tomorrow so you'll be able to come back here at the same bat time, same bat channel and see my latest card. I hope your Sunday is super, relaxing, and you get lots of stamping time in today!
