I just want to make sure that you understand that I'm not saying that mother/daughter relationships are easy. They certainly are not. I'm not even putting a blanket statement on anything. There are times when, I'm sure, it is appropriate to put distance between yourself and your mother. However, in my opinion, if it is just a matter of not seeing eye to eye well...figure it out. We don't see eye to eye with our spouses, our kids, our bosses, and even sometimes our friends, yet we still figure out a way to make our relationships work (okay, not always). Why should it be any different with our parents?

I do think being told that it is easy for me to say is a bit off the mark though. I had a difficult relationship with my mother. It is from the experiences that I've had that I say 'try and find a way to make it work'.

That is it...nothing more. Take what you want from this little statement and throw the rest in the trash.

Have a great night all!

It's good to be reminded that life is short and we may not get to say things we should to the people we love. I don't think that person in your last post was saying "it's easy for you to say"... I think her point is that it is sometimes easier said than done. (Actually that's pretty much what she said). I think you can have the best intentions, but sometimes those little things can get in the way.

I love my Mom dearly and try to value and learn from all her amazing traits. But I work with my Mom and it can be SOOO frustating sometimes. I just have to take a deep breath, realize that I DO love and value her, but sometimes she can be a pain in the butt ;).

Sometimes you have to just ignore people's comments on line. I am not saying you shouldn't post what you did, it's your blog and your feelings need to be brought forth.

It's much easier for people to say how they feel ( even though you said nothing to provoke it ) when you don't see the person face to face.
Some People are bitter, and you can't please them all. You shouldn't have too! It's your blog, it's your diary,it's your opinion! If someone doesn't like it they can leave. It's not the end of the world.

I have learned to delete, ignore and say a prayer for that person that has so much pain in their lives.
