A Card Re-Do

Good almost afternoon my friends! The very first thing that I must ask of you all is that you be praying for my Jon's unit in Afghanistan. Three soldiers were killed and one wounded on Monday. We have heard nothing so that is good as we would have been notified already. If you do not already pray for our soldiers please start immediately!

Today I'm showing you the card I got from my oldest son, Scott, for Mother's Day. I loved the card and what he wrote inside. Upon looking at it I started to put together a card in my mind so the other day I sat down and recreated the card.

I used the newly released Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps image called Tea Time. I paper pieced the tea pot and the tea cup with patterned papers (stella rose - mabel) to coordinate with the rest of the card. There was very little coloring, just the coffee so I used a Copic marker for that and then used a glaze pen on the coffee to make it look liquid-y. On the side I just dressed it up with more patterned paper. This layout is the Sweet Stop sketch for this week, too! I am also entering this in the Truly Scrumptious anything goes challenge. Oh, yay...I can add this to the D2D handmade paper flowers challenge too!

So...what do you think? A pretty fun re-do, huh?

Alright, I gotta run but enjoy the rest of your day everyone!

Lorie, I am so saddened to hear of the loss of these three young soldiers. I will certainly be praying for the fourth to recover fully and quickly, and will lift all of you up in prayer as well. I'm sure that you will hear from Jon as soon as he's able to call or email. Our son was twice deployed, and I know what is in your heart today. I hope you can feel my hugs and prayers with you. Where did Jon and his unit deploy from? Your card from Scott is beautiful, and I love your take on it! What a pretty card - inside and out! Take care, dear friend...hugs!

Lorie, I so sorry to hear that Jon's unit lost some members. of course I keep all the men and women serving in my prayers. I'm hoping that Jon will find peace through what is happening and not be scarred by it.

Oh dear. I'm so sorry! I'm always praying for/thinking of our service men and women, but I'll say a special prayer for the families. I hope you hear from Jon soon. Hang in there, hun. Hugs!

Your card is beautiful! Great job turning inspiration into a beautiful project! Is it a digi stamp or regular? I still can't figure out how to paper piece with digi's on my printer. Sigh. :)

Such a pretty card Lorie--love the teapot and that fancy circular punch/Nestie!

I do pray for our soldiers--they're so brave to willingly join the forces to serve and protect--and put themselves in harm's way. My heart goes out to those families who've lost their songs/daughters on the field. Hugs & prayers.
