Patriot Day (and blog candy!)

Morning friends. If you are anything like me when you say or write 9/11 you get a very strange almost deja vu type of experience and for good reason. It is a day that will live in our memories forever, it is a day that has changed almost every aspect of our lives, it is a day to remember the almost 3,000 people that died on 9/11/01 and it is a day to remember our troops that continue to fight the war on terrorism.

In the spirit of this Patriot Day, Operation Write Home is hosting a special blog hop of which, we the members of The Stamping Boutique, are honored to be a part of. We were provided with a couple of different images to work worth and I chose the ribbon image you see. The best part is, this ribbon image is FREE to everyone today! Just go HERE to check it out! At the end of this blog post I will have a link to the next DT members blog so you can see what Marie has done. This blog hop, this entire day is close to my heart. Some of you may know that my middle son, Jon, is currently at Basic Training and I am the wife of a retired Army enlisted man. My eyes always tear up when I think of Sept. 11th and all the men and women who have been deployed to Iraq...my husband included.

Today I want to do a little Random Act of Kindness (blog candy) to thank you for visiting our blog hop and remembering our soldiers (maybe you could fly your American Flag today?). For one visitor that comments on my blog I will have a unmounted stamp that says Live Well, laugh often, Love Much! and an unmounted stamp that says Smile (Both of these stamps are from Elzybels) . In addition to that I will be purchasing one additional winner on my blog with a The Stamping Boutique single digital image of their choice! So that is TWO winners! What do you have to do to win? Well, I'd like you to go to the Operation Write Home main page HERE and tell me the names of the blogs that they write. It is easy to find so don't worry. Once you find them come back here and leave me a comment with the names. Please play nice and don't just copy what everyone else has written! And please only one comment per person. You have until Sunday evening at midnight (PST) to enter and I'll announce the winners on my post on Tuesday.

So...off you go to the Operation Write Home main page! Have a wonderful Saturday and I'll see ya back tomorrow for my Sunday share!

Your next stop on the hop is to Marie...check her out HERE

What a wonderful card, Lorie and thanks for such an important message today. We must never forget. That was such a defining day in our history. And thank you to your family who has served to keep our country free and strong. The blogs are Operation Write Home, Homefront Blog, Hero Blog, and Star & Stripes Blog. Love them all and I'm working on some challenges and posting cards for them. Thanks for the inspiration. I'll certainly keep Jon in my prayers.

Lovely card, I really like the yellow that you have used. Something different, but in keeping with the ribbon. I looked over at OWH, it is a great site and they do good work. (leaving that prize for someone else)
