Oh My Goodness...

Good Saturday morning everyone! I told you yesterday that I was going to show you some pictures of my trip to Leavenworth but I had forgotten that I get to show you my June limeLIGHT project. This month Mandy challenged us to do something for summer. I had several thoughts going through my head (which could be why it came together so quickly) and decided to go with this water bottle hanger/card combo. I actually made it yesterday and gave it away yesterday. Perfect timing for this challenge I'd say!

Anyway, I got to use the SUPER cute Pink Cat Studio's set called Lily at the Beach. I haven't used it much but I so think this is an adorable set! Add it to the fun, bright colors of Basic Grey's Lime Rickey papers and you've got a winner gift set! For a little bling I added some Kaisercraft Rhinestones. Oh, and the layout is from a sketch challenge I saw this week but I'm not sure which one so if you know...will you comment and let everyone else in on it? Thanks!

So...do you have any special plans for your stamping this summer? I hope you get the chance to make some fun projects like this one!

Want some more inspiration for summer projects? How about visitng the DT blogs...JenMarie, Lisa, Ryann, Mandy, Lee, Amy, and the 7th 6 Chick Nikki. Now how is that for some major talent!?!

And, I bet some of you are here to find out who won the sketch challenge from limeLIGHT's anniversary party...right? Okay...ready? You sure? Alright....it's MISSY! Congratulations Missy! Just e-mail me your address so I can get it to Mandy!

Now, go...have a super Saturday!

patriotic birthday CAS

Good morning girls! Can you believe it is Friday already? That means it is Kyler's last day of school. He is one of those kids who is excited and disappointed at the same time. It is so strange around here though...they end at 10:30 a.m. It will be the same thing next week when Jon is done on Friday. Is 10:30 a.m. an official half day or something like that for teaching purposes? Anyway, I'm finishing up a cute little gift for his teacher and then it will be good bye to elementary school and hello to middle school. That just made my heart beat a little faster! Boy, time sure does fly...especially with Scott and Jon both seniors next year!

Okay, enough of that! Onto the card! I've SO been wanting to participate in the Clean and Simple challenge on SCS. I saw what it was this week and decided to go for it. Our cards are to be based on some beach towels from Lands End. The towel I chose has the pattern of my strips of paper. I had to, of course, add a little something to the card so I added the stars (both popped up and stamped) and the sentiments. I used the free down loadable paper from Gina K for the paper strips. The stars are different sizes as I printed the paper different sizes...I didn't think about it ahead of time. I think it gives added visual interest, though. I have to tell you I really love this card! It will be going to a friend of mine for her birthday and it needs to go in the mail today!

I know I just shared one of my little Psalms thoughts yesterday but I thought you guys might appreciate this as I did...

Wait on the Lord. Psalms 27:14
I think I've already had this lesson. (And, no, I don't think I've mastered it.)

Anyone else struggle with the wait on the Lord part? Goodness that can be SO hard! Only good will come out of waiting for the answer God has for us though. I'm still working on it for sure!

Well, I hope you have a fantastic day! I think I'll share a couple of pictures from our trip to Leavenworth tomorrow...basically a couple of my favorite places to go when we are there.

And don't forget...you have until 5:00 p.m. tonight to enter your card with my sketch for limeLIGHT anniversary blog candy! Check it out HERE!

Until then...tah, tah!

new look and achoo!

Morning ladies! I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday...I sure did! The weather was perfect for Todd and I in Leavenworth and we totally enjoyed our day together! We'll be going back for a couple of days in July for our anniversary...can you tell we really like it there?

Anyway...WELL...what do you think? Do you love my new blog look as much as I do? I contacted Michelle Laycock a couple of weeks ago and asked her to please put me on her list and last night was the night for the install. She was SO patient with me as I changed little things around and got it to look, well...like me! I really wanted you all to come to my blog and just feel peaceful and at home as you are all like family to me!

Now, I know you'd prefer to hear about my project so onto that! A couple of days ago on the SASI blog Laurie Schmidlin did a tutorial for these super cute tissue holders. This being a high pollen count time in my area I thought it would be perfect to make one or two of these to have on hand so I can give them to people who are really suffering from allergies.

You can see that I really leaned on Laurie's version to craft this one but hers is SO cute...how do you not CASE it? Anyway, everything I used to make this tissue holder is from Taylored Expressions and all of the papers are from the May Key Ingredients kit. It is such a beautiful kit! I love it! The image and sentiment is from TE's set called Doctor's Orders...sick cupcakes...too cute! You must know that this holder is SO easy to put together that it took me less than about 30 minutes to do the entire thing and that includes distractions from the hubby and kids!

I Just want to share what my By the Light of the Psalms calendar said yesterday...

Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us. Psalms 40:17
(People will wonder why I look so good today!)

The second line is the little comment they put on the calendar and is usually very cute...don't ya just love it!

Don't forget...only one more day to make a card with my sketch for the limeLIGHT anniversary party!

Well, I'll leave you with that today. I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

testing the siggy

miscellaneous info...

Morning everyone! Just a couple of things for you this morning.

First, like those Prima flowers you see in the picture? Well...go HERE to see how you can win them!

Second, my friend, Janel, has decided she is going to run a marathon this fall. I'm super proud of her and I know she will do a great job! She would like to make herself a journal for her training but needs an image of a runner. I don't have anything for her...do you? If you do please leave a comment here with a way for me (or Janel) to get a hold of you that would be great. My blog readers are the best so I am thanking you in advance for helping out!

And finally...changes are on their way! In what way you'll have to continue to check back and see. I think you'll be excited along with me though!

Now...I'm off to spend the day with my husband in one of our favorite places here in Washington so I hope you all have as good of a day as we do!

PEO book

Morning everyone! After I got done with some stamping for a workshop I'll be holding this weekend I decided I wanted to make a card soooo...I sat down at my desk and promptly saw my PEO yearbook which reminded me that I wanted to make my cover look nice so I picked out the Weekend Sketch on Lori Craig's blog as it has the long main image which is perfect for this 4x6 book.

I choose a combination of Papertrey Ink and Sweet N Sassy Stamps. I used Lemon Tart with the Ocean Tides as yellow is a club color. I couldn't knot the ribbon as I didn't want too much dimension and I figured the buttons would be enough under the pocket. The letters are from limeLIGHT Papercrafts. Speaking of limeLIGHT...did you check my sketch challenge for LLPC's One Year Anniversary? Well...check it out HERE? Oh, yeah! Make a card with my sketch and win some Prima's!

Short post today I guess. I have things to do and places to go...okay, things to do! Places to go would be tomorrow!

Have a super day everyone!

limeLIGHT Anniversary Partay!

Today is the day everyone! Today is limeLight Papercrafts One Year Anniversary and do we have a celebration for you? Oh, yes we do!

First, I'm going to share my challenge with you...then, I'm going to list everyone else who has a game or challenge for you. The best part? There are prizes attached to EVERYTHING! Oh, ya, baby...prizes! (do you think I'm a little excited?!)

My challenge is a sketch challenge. It isn't any sketch challenge though it is my very 1st original sketch that I'm sharing with you. Nope, it isn't anything particularly fancy but that is the way I like it! I have two samples for you. I made the sketch specifically for the wonderful Prima Lollipop flower that you see on my second card but the butterfly works nicely, too, huh?

So...wanna know how to play along with me? Okay, all you have to do is create a card with my sketch, upload it to your favorite place (if you upload to SCS or PCP or SA please use the keyword llpcanniv1) and then link it back to this post. You have until Friday June 5th at 5 p.m. pacific time to link back at which time I'll draw a random winner. I'll post that winner on Saturday June 6th. Oh...you want to know what you'll win? How about Prima Aloha Petals - Tea Leaf. What fun, huh?

Alright...now for the rundown of all the limeLIGHT DT present and past that are playing in the anniversary party!

exalting christ

I am so blessed to get this award from Chris "The Exalting Christ Blog Award"
Thank you, Chris! What a blessing and encouragement.

This blog award is given to bloggers who consistently exalt the name of Christ on their blogs. What a joy to see crafters blend their passion for Christ and paper crafting. This award is given to bloggers who share Christ through their posts or through the design of their artwork. We are commanded in Scripture to be 'salt and light' sharing the Good News of Jesus no matter where we are (Matthew 5:13-16). This award is just a way members of Women to Women: Sharing Jesus can say thanks for exalting Christ with us!
Rules:Post the blog award in a regular post on your blog with the explanation, including the original link to WTW and the rules for passing the award along
1. Name five people to whom you want to offer this award and link to their blogs. The blogs need to obviously exalt Christ in some manner.
2. Contact the bloggers you have named to let them know they can pick up their blog award from you.
3. Invite them to permanently display the WTW blog badge and/or the award on their blogs. The badge can be obtained on the WTW site.

These are just a few of my Christian Blogging friends. A great, big, huge thank you to everyone who shows the light of Christ on their blog!
