It's Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! Phew...I didn't think we'd ever get here this week!

Just a quick post today to show you the card I made for my stamp club card swap. We decided on a "thinking of you" theme. I had absolutely NO idea what to do but I knew I wanted to use my Dream a Little set from SU! so I went to SCS and checked out what others have done. I would like to say that I combined a whole bunch of stuff...but I didn't. This is pretty much a CASE but I don't recall who it belonged to. I just know that I thought it was pretty and calming. The other thing that I found out when I went to stamp a "thinking of you" sentiment is that I didn't have any current SU! sentiments. Hmmm...how did that happen? I decided to use my PTI Everyday Classics set (the anniversary set for this year...that I earned... 'cuz I love PTI) as this sentiment is so classic and really...says what you want.

Below will be the details of this card and I must run now. Hope you have a super weekend! I won't "see" you tomorrow but I'll be back on Sunday!

Card deets:
Cardstock: PTI White
Stamps: Dream a Little, Everyday Classics

elegant blessings

Morning everyone! Did you know it is almost Friday? Woohoo! Do you have any big plans for the weekend? We've got some fun stuff planned...yay!

Each Monday the senior design team of Sweet N Sassy Stamps has a senior design team challenge. This week it was to use pink and brown or pink and orange. I just used some pink and orange just the other day so pink and brown it is!

This lovely card is made with the SNSS set called Elegant Blessings. It is a lovely set that includes two crosses (this is the smaller of the two) and several sentiments that are good for encouragement, sympathy, or even thinking of you. First I inked up the cross in Pink Pirouette and then I rocked the edges in Close to Cocoa. I used some adhesive pearls to a little dimension and class and the white satin ribbon just finishes it off perfectly.

So, which color combination will you use? Just upload your card to your favorite online community (or blog) with the keyword of SNSMC17 and then link it back to the SNSS blog!

Now...I'm off to work on two more cards for this weekend! Have a super day everyone!

Card deets:
Card stock: Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Candy Cane Lane DP
Stamps: Elegant Blessings
Embellishments: White Satin Ribbon (PTI), Adhesive Pearls, Dimensionals

just buzzin by box

Good morning everyone! Just a quick post to show you the last stamp club project that my girls will be making tonight.

I saw on Beate's blog a super cute genie bag made with the top note die. I totally wanted to do something like that but...no white bags. Bummer! So, I turned it into a little box and used some ribbon for a little carrying handle. This box fits four Ghiradelli Chocolates inside just perfectly. Yum!

My brain does not work mathematically...at all, so when the time came to make the little box I couldn't figure out what size of paper I needed to make the box fit the way I wanted. I believe I ended up with a 8"x8" piece of Certainly Celery. I believe I scored all sides at 2 1/2" and then just cut up to the center on four scores facing each other (I hope that makes sense). You can see from the side picture what the box part looks like.

Besides from Ghiradelli chocolate this box is big enough to fit a little gift (mini-book, piece of jewelry) inside as well. With the "have a honey of a day sentiment" it could also be used for several different occasions.

So...who's coming to stamp club tonight? LOL! Even if you aren't I hope that your day is wonderful!

Card deets:
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By
Card Stock: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Delicate Dots DSP (from SAB), Whisper White
Accessories: Top Note Die, Silver Brads, Certainly Celery Twill (SAB), Certainly Celery Grosgrain, So Saffron Grosgrain, Circle punches, Markers, Spica Glitter Pens (on bee), and large oval punch.

sweet stems

Good morning everyone! Did you all get through your Monday okay? My day actually went better than I anticipated and I got a card made...yay!

This card is for my stamp club tomorrow night (so if you are coming...you know one thing you'll be making). One of the nice things about being a SU! demo is that the demo website has tons of ideas for cards, scrapbook pages and the like. It makes planning for an event pretty darn easy!

This card is made with the Sweet Stems set and Thank You single stamp. Add a little Raspberry Tart patterned paper along with Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, and Kiwi Kiss card stock and you have a pretty thank you card. I popped the flowers up with some dimensionals to give the card a little extra dimension and the paper piercing in the corners make it elegant. Easy schmesy!

Awhile back my friend, Sarah, sent me a fun daily calendar that has a Psalm each day along with a little comment. I've been wanting to share one with you guys for a little while so here goes...

God is for me. Psalm 56:9
Such breathtaking information in such a short sentence.

Isn't that something that we all need to remember when times get tough (and they are tough for some right now). God IS for me...good times, bad times, and all the time inbetween! Yay!

Anyway, I hope you all have a super Tuesday! I'll show you my final project for stamp club tomorrow.

pretty flower pots

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and that you got lots done! Today's post will be photo heavy and probably text light but I hope you enjoy it anyway!

My friend, Janel, dropped off this super cute flower pot card to me for Valentine's Day last month. How cute and ingenious, right?! I knew I was going to have to make one myself so I put the card to the side only to pull it out a few days ago to start working on my own. All I did to make this card is to make a regular size card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4"), I then laid Janel's card on it and used my pencil for the cut marks. I just took it to my cutter lined up the pencil marks and cut it. So, no I do not have a template. Just play with it a little and I'm sure you'll come up with the angle that is perfect for you!

Anyway, this is the card I was working on for the flock/fuzz challenge with limeLIGHT when I realized that I needed to use the sketch that Mandy provided (again, duh for me!). I used Chocolate Box Cherry Cordial Core'dinations cardstock from limeLIGHT. The flocking is at the top of the pot for the dirt. Another fun element of this card that I got from limeLIGHT is the beautiful butterfly from Prima. My goodness it is lovely. It really would make anything that you use it on special. I made my little "happy spring" sign on my computer (and yes...I had to use the same seed packet that I got from Janel in my flower pot as I forgot to buy one when I went to the store). The patterned cardstock is from SU!. The stamps are from a new PTI set called Wishing You.

Now, how fun would this be to send? Obviously you can't used a regular envelope but I'll be sending this one to my grandparents in a bubble mailer hoping the USPS doesn't ruin it. I know they will love it though!

I have another busy week this week so I will probably be sporadic with my posting. I hope you have a wonderful Monday! See you soon!

page plans day

Good morning everyone! I hope you've had a wonderful weekend so far! I'd like to thank you all for your kind words and funny stories regarding Scott's wisdom teeth removal. He is doing quite well but he's still tired. Tomorrow is the third day and it is supposed to be the worst day so we'll see what happens.

As you know, today is Page Plans sketch day on my blog. I had fun with this card/sketch. My card is 5"x5" and is perfect for this fun Emma stamp from Paper Makeup Stamps. Isn't she just adorable? To make it a little more special I used Shimmerz (from limeLIGHT) on her wings and gloves as well as a glaze pen on the raindrops. For the center of my buttons I put some Silver Rhinestones (again from limeLIGHT). The cardstock and patterned paper, buttons and ribbon are from PTI. Oh and the little twinkle on the pockets are from Taylored Expressions as well as the sentiment. Boy that is quite the assembly of things isn't it?

So...whatcha waiting for? Head on over to the Page Plans blog to take a gander at this weeks sketch and then make your own card! Oh, and have a super day while you are at it!
