summer sister

Yay...it is Saturday! I truly cannot believe how fast the week has gone!

I decided I needed to show you what my summer sister Sarah sent me for my final package. She was so creative and generous! I love it all! So...see the fun cards? Yep, the moose is definitely a Packers fan, don't ya think? See the You're The Berry Best package? Yeah...it has Chicklets in it! Have I ever told you guys how much I liked Chicklets as a kid? Yep, loved them! The "wonderful friend" card that Sarah made was featured on her blog HERE. Go check it out! Oh, and the stamps...yeah...one of them is featured on my very first Page Plans Sketch card tomorrow. Stop back to see it! You can probably also see just the top of the black polka dotted bucket that the stamps came in and the tippy top of the family shaped chipboard album. It looks like THIS. I can't wait to decorate it!

So tomorrow is my first official Page Plans sketch for ya. I'm SO excited as it is such a pretty card yet it looks so impressive! Okay, at least I think so! Oh, and you know what else? We are starting to make acutal plans for Hawaii! Yep, we may actually get to go! (I'm a little nervous that God has other plans for us again! LOL!) Do you see the fun ticker on my blog...I just couldn't help myself!

Sooooo, you guys...what fun things are you doing this weekend? I'm going to try and get ahead on my challenges and stamping so that I don't have to worry about things while in Hawaii as the hotel charges $10 a day for internet connection..yikes! Okay, okay...I'm going now!

comforting hugs

Good Friday morning stampers! Can you believe it is the end of another week? Wow...time is just flying by!

So...isn't this card just so comforting...lol! The stamp set that I used (and I had too 'cuz Dani made me!) is called Comforting Hugs and is a new set from Kim Hughes over at Cornish Heritage Farms. This is a seriously cute "get well" set...you must check it out!

So, you want to know what I used for the card, right? Well, I can't remember who the patterned paper is from but I did use the front and back for the opposing sides . With the plain turquoise-ish side I used a couple of the other stamps from the set to give it a little character. The scalloped circle is Riding Hood Red from SU! and the sentiment is layered on River Rock from SU!. I went over the sentiment with my black Spica glitter pen and also used the glitter pen for the dots on the turquoise squares. The layout is another Page Plans sketch. I do love the variety of sketches that they have! You can go HERE to see all the past sketches. Have fun!

Tomorrow I must show you the wonderful gift that my summer sister, Sarah sent me and maybe a photo or two of cards that some wonderful friends of mine sent my boys when their great-grandmother died. Then on Sunday...my very first official Page Plans sketch card! Woohoo! I'm excited...can ya tell?! LOL!

Have a super

page plans week 24 sketch

Morning stampers! What did you get stamped yesterday? Anything fun?

I made this card a couple of days ago and just have to share it with you today! This card is made with the same Cornish Heritage Farms set from the other day (Baby Love) but in a completely different style. The layout is from Page Plans Week 24 sketch. It is a very simple interpretation of the sketch but with the cool background paper it looks so neato! The colors are Tangerine Tango and Soft Skye...interesting, huh? Wish I could remember who made the paper but I don't remember...I'm sorry!

This is a short post today. Things to do places to go ya know. I hope you have a wonderful Thursday and get all accomplished that you'd like!

Have a super day!

exciting news

Oh, what a fun day it is for me today! I finally get to tell you that I was selected to be part of the Page Plans Design Team! Woohoo! Oh, I have to tell you that my being accepted to the team earned me the "great job" cone at my house...lol! (we have a miniature construction cone, about 6" high, that says great job on it and it is placed at the table spot for the person who has done a great job...fun!)

Each Sunday from now until March '09 you'll see a card made from the fun Page Plans sketch on my blog. I hope you'll join me in the fun and play along with the sketches too!

I thought I'd show you all three of my card submissions. Each card was made with a Page Plans sketch. They are quite self explanatory so I'll just give a brief explanation. The first card is made with a favorite set of mine recently, Upsy Daisy. The patterned paper is from the Washington Apple DSP that SU! has new in their catty.

Next is a fun card with the SU! set called Mr. Twigster. I pulled the sentiment from another SU! set but can't remember the name right now. Again, the paper is from SU! and is called Ski Slope (this paper and the Autumn Vine paper are both available from SU! starting today so let me know if you have any questions!). It also has some beautiful new Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon on it. Even though you cannot see it this card has lots of sparkle and Christmas feel to it!

Lastly is a card made with a Sweet N Sassy set called Happy Harvest. The patterned paper is the above mentioned Autumn Vine DSP. I Cuttlebugged the brown/orange background paper with the new Autumn embossing folder and then ran some white craft ink over the embossed area. I added extra ink over the blessings area as that is the sentiment that I wanted to highlight. It looks much better IRL...I promise!

So, the you have it. I hope you will enjoy these next six months with me as we journey through some fun Page Plans sketches! Please go check out the Page Plans blog and meet the other design team members!

Be sure to scroll down and see my Belli Challenge card for the day!

Have a super Wednesday!

belli challenge 36

Hello! Today is Belli Challenge day and I'm so excited to finally get to participate again after a week or so off. This week's challenge is leaves or anything fall. We all have a ton of this type of stuff laying around so pull it out and have some fun!

I decided to go clear card with my challenge this week. I used the MFT set called Falling For You. I added the image to the wonderful Autumn Vine DSP from SU! along with some brown stitched ribbon and I think it came together well! There is a small piece of rust colored paper inside to write or stamp a sentiment on but I just couldn't figure out what sentiment I wanted so I left it blank for now.

So...get to work with your leaf creation, upload it to your blog or SCS with the keyword CBC36 and link back to Chris's blog for a chance to win a prize!

You may use the links (under Belli Challenge girls) in the left column of my blog to go hop around and see the other designers wonderful creations!

How fun everyone! This card was chosen as the inspiration for the MFT Friday Challenge on SCS. You can see what I'm talking about HERE.

Have a great craftin' Wednesday!

CBCC #??

Okay, you guys...I'm so sorry...I don't remember what number we are on for the Created by Courtney Challenges. What I can tell you is that today's challenge is to CASE another person's card changing at least two things about it. When you make a card go head and post the card to your blog, tell us the changes and then link back to Courtney's blog with it for a chance to win some goodies from her.

I chose to CASE an adorable card from Sarah...HERE. What I used of Sarah's card is the layout. I changed the papers (mine are SU! and Basic Grey) and stamps (House Mouse). My friend, Lori, sent me some adorable House Mouse images and I just had to use one for my card. Lori is a design team member for the House Mouse and Friend Monday Challenge Blog and she makes some CaUTE cards...check it out! This is such a plain and simple card but I truly LOVE it! I can't wait to use some more of the House Mouse images.
I know you want to see what the other Challenge Chicks have done so go check out Sarah, Dani, Sparkle, Heidi, and Courtney!.

So tomorrow is the Belli Challenge...also is the first of October. I can hardly believe that September is gone already. Wow...it went fast! So, I'll see you tomorrow!

feels so good!

Oh, my goodness...it felt so good to stamp yesterday afternoon! I made THREE, yes three cards in one afternoon. Yes, they were pretty simple but they are, in my opinion, very cute. You are getting to see the first one today!

I was asked by the PA (parent association) at Kyler's school to make a card for a family that just had a baby and I was happy to oblige. I thought simple yet pretty would be perfect so here is what I came up with. The stamp is from Baby Love, a set by Kim Hughes that you can get over at Cornish Heritage Farms. First I chose the Pacific Point cardstock for my blue, then embossed the PTI white with Cuttlebug's Baby Words embossing folder. A scallop square, some white ribbon, and it was all set. I think it will be a hit...how about you?

Tomorrow is the Created By Courtney Challenge and I finally get to participate! I'm so excited about the challenge and can't wait to show you my card! Wednesday is the Belli Challenge and also October 1st...can you believe we will be in October...holy schmoley! Next thing you know....it will be my birthday and then a few weeks after that...Hawaii baby! Woohoo! It is definitely going to be a fun month for me!

I've really missed stamping and sharing my creations with you and although I have to work Monday and Tuesday this week I think I'm ahead enough in my crafting to keep up with everything...yay!

So...have a super Monday and I'll see you for CBCC Tuesday!
