your gorgeous!

Happy Saturday morning from cloudy, rainy Central Washington! We had rain, thunder, and lightening last night for the first time in a long time. Made for some great sleeping though.

Okay, the card. Isn't that image just the cutest? I'm not entirely sure where I got it from (hmmm...I've said that before recently) but I do love those ladies. What do you think of my Prima flower burst? I rarely use Prima's because I don't ever think I'm using them correctly but this one has just all the right colors on it...fun!

So, my SU! catalogs arrived the other day and I have a couple that aren't spoken for so if you would like one please e-mail me for the scoop on how to get one. Honestly, this week was much busier than I had anticipated and I haven't gotten a good look at the catalog but I do know I like some of the design series papers and a couple of sets really appeal to me.

Oh, and the princess invitation down one or two...yeah...I'm a dork. That line in the middle is her wand and she is supposed to have something on top of it. So...I punched out a whole bunch of little hearts, covered 'em in glitter and now it is better. Sometimes I wonder how I can possibly walk around without my head falling off...lol!

Well, today we go to get Jon. Being how far it is it will be an all day adventure which means I probably won't have time for crafting so...I think I'll be taking tomorrow off of blogging. I will, however, see you on Monday! Have a super weekend everyone!

sketch challenge

Happy Friday Morning! As will be the custom from here on forward today is challenge day...3 Little DReaMs style! Each month one Dream Team member will have the fun of posting challenges for all of us dreamers. The month of August is Dream Teamer Dani Marcus. Last week we embossed, this week we sketch challenge. I used my very first 3 Little DReaMs kit for this challenge called Owl Occasions. All paper and almost all embellishments (minus the little dots on the paper) are from the kit.

Here is the fun part of the challenges...ready? If you participate and either upload your creations to the 3LD Yahoo Group (you can join through the button on the left side of my blog) or to SCS with 3LDAUG for your keyword you will be in the running for a prize at the end of the month. Our Dreamer extraordinaire, Katie, will be choosing the prize and I can guarantee you will be pleased! So come on...join us! It will be fun! Remember...if you don't have a 3LD kit just use either a Stamping Bella or Sweet N Sassy Stamp to participate!

Kyler and I are out the door early this morning to get the windshield fixed on my car. It is a 35 minute drive to the town in which it will be done and I have to be there by 8:00-8:30 so...it is an early morning for us.

Please check out the other Dream Team member's blog by clicking through by my side bar.

princess birthday

Good Thursday morning stampers! Yesterday I told you that I'd show you the invitations that I'm helping a friend make for her daughter's 1st birthday party. Here it is! I'm actually pretty pleased with the way it has come out. It is a post card style so the invitation itself doesn't open up...the deets for the party are on the back of the card.

It is kind of hard to see the details of the card but I stamped the castle above the patterned paper piece, added some glitter pen on both the ribbons and the hat and also on the "ribbons" on her dress.

On the details side of the of the invitation I used hearts and flowers from the set to make a border at the top and bottom then I sponged some Pink Pirouette on the edges to soften the white a little. We played around with the fonts in Word to come up with something that looked "regal" and came up with "Harrington." My friend picked the wording that she liked and taa daa!

There you have it. I am done coloring the images, my friend cut all the patterned paper and put it on the Kiwi Kiss, and will now just work on putting these together for her. There are 35 all together but I think I can have it all done by this evening.

I hope your Thursday is a good one and I'll see ya all tomorrow!

belli challenge #28

Good morning stampers! Today is Wednesday and what does that mean? Yep, Belli Challenge day! Woohoo! This weeks challenge is called Contain It! Let me tell you about my tin (as easy as it is) and then more about the challenge.

As you see on the right I just used a tin that I had in my tin box (yes, I have a box of tins of different shapes and sizes). I decided rather than making this a square tin I'd go ahead and decorate it on an angle for something different. My idea was to make this easy enough that anyone would feel like they could make it too. Soooo...the patterned paper is 3/4" by about 8 1/2" and adhered with sticky tape. I then put a strip of sticky tape around the patterned paper and added the ribbon with a knot. The flower on the top was put together with die cuts and pop dots. That is it. Easy schmesy lemon squeezy!

Inside I placed a piece of Ghirardelli chocolate and some Prima flowers. You just never know when something like this might be offered up for blog candy so you might want to be checking back!

And, onto the deets of the Belli Challenge. Each week, Chris tries to give us a challenge that will get us using things we have lying around our stamp rooms! With a constant flow of new things coming out, we tend to forget about the other things we have and they quickly become clutter! Come join us in the Belli Challenge and be sure to post your link to Chris's website!

This Weeks Belli Challenge is Contain It! You can do many things with a container...a tin like myself, a 2 liter bottle, you could even make your own container. Think outside the box!

Best part is...there is a prize to be awarded. Make up something with a container, upload it to SCS with the Keyword CBC28 and then link it to Chris's blog and you'll be in the running to be featured on Chris's blog AND be a guest designer for the Belli Challenge on a week of your choice! Woohoo! Link me up too so that I can see!

The other players this week are below...

Holly Brown
Shelly Koskinen
Laurie Serino
Christi Thorsen
Rochelle Wick
Ceal Pritchett
Debby McGivillary (not up yet but keep checking back!)
Chris Dickinson

Guess what I got yesterday? Yep, a copy of my new SU! catalog...woohoo for me! Hopefully those that I ordered will arrive soon!

Come back tomorrow and see the invitation I'm helping a friend make for her daughter's 1st birthday! Have a great Wednesday!

proof i was there

First off...I don't know baseball so I was constantly asking Todd questions...sorry Todd! It was a long game of a little over three hours and we had some very annoying, potty mouthed guys sitting a couple of rows behind us but other than that. Very cool. We were in row 1, seats 1-4 on the left foul line. A couple of balls popped over us but we didn't catch one (much to Kyler's dismay). It was one of those games where I was thinking that maybe we should leave early as into the 7th inning the Mariner's were loosing 0-5. Then, miracles of all miracles...the Martiner's scored 10 point...yes 10! It was very exciting. I believe there were two grand slams in that inning. The picture is Ichiro at bat during the first or second inning. We didn't get home until 12:15 a.m. and Todd had to go to work early this morning but it was all good.

Why am I telling you all this? 'Cuz it is my post for today. I haven't been too crafty the last couple of days so I haven't something that I like enough to show you...sorry! Today I will be sitting down to make a project for the Belli Challenge for tomorrow and I have a couple of cards to make so hopefully it will be better for the rest of the week! So...for those of you who enjoy baseball...enjoy the commentary today. If you don't like baseball...sorry...come back tomorrow and see what I have for ya!

just because

Good Monday Morning stampers! I hope that you all had a super weekend and got lots done! This card is for the sketch challenge for this week on SCS.

I got this image from someone and, unfortunately, I don't remember who but isn't it adorable? I love the little heart cheeks and wings. This dragonfly is from High Hopes which would lead me to believe I got the image from either Diane or Bela but those are just guesses. So, whomever sent me this...thank you!

Today, I'm off to my very first professional baseball game. We are going to a Mariner's game with some friends of ours. Dinner, too! I guess our seats are on the left foul line and I understand that is good. Maybe we'll catch a ball as Kyler has requested we bring him home one (do you think he'll know the difference if we just buy one at Walmart? teehee!). I will definitely be taking my camera and trying it out in that situation. Oh, I understand that the Mariner's aren't doing so hot this season so we may do a lot of sitting but at least I can people watch instead, huh?

Stampin' Up! sure has had some exciting announcements this convention. One would be that they will be selling a SU! branded Big Shot. You can see all about the non-SU! machine HERE. There will also be dies exclusive to SU! Customers will be able to purchase it starting in September. Also, starting with the next catalog (so the fall/winter 09) ALL stamp sets will be die cut so no more cutting out those stamps! Hopefully my new catty's will arrive soon (rather than later than the deadline like the last couple of years) and I'll e-mail my customers to let you know they are available. If you'd like one just e-mail me and I'll give you the scoop on the cost and such.

That is it for today. I hope you all have a terrific day!

perk up!

So, have you guys ever seen FireCracker Designs? I'm not sure how I ended up at their store but I did and I bought a couple of things including a coffee set that has this fun mug, sentiment, and coffee rings. It is called Escape the Daily Grind should you so wish to go take a look at it.

For this card I used the same Mojo Monday layout as the Dreams Du Jour card but to incorporate in some embossing for the 3 Little DReaMs challenge I embossed the coffee cup with embossing powder that smells like coffee! Very fun! Just as a side note...COPICS will smear your embossing. I thought I had read that they won't but they did in this case (just check out the cup handle). I also used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Kind of a fun effect for the coffee rings and such. Recipe for this card can be found below.

Yes, the yard sale went well, our dinner went well, and I guess that means a pretty successful Saturday, huh? I don't have much for plans today but Todd seems a bit busy after church so I may have to help him out. Otherwise...I want to create!

Have a super Sunday and the countdown begins...5 days and a wake up until Jon arrives home! Yay!
