Yay...it is Saturday! Yay...I slept in! It was weird getting up so late (7:40, usually I'm up by 6:30) but apparently I really needed the sleep! Anyway, I wanted to make a gift card holder for one of the people that worked registration at VBS this year. Nicole was always on top of things. Always trying to come up with new and better ways of making registration easier for everyone, and ALWAYS had an upbeat attitude about the whole thing! Because of that I bought her a Starbucks gift card (and found out she likes a different coffee shop better...ugh!). Anyway, I knew what type of gift card holder I wanted to make as I've seen them on other blogs so I Google'd "rubber stamped gift card holders" and found what I was looking for on Dawn's blog. The tutorial is a video tutorial and is really easy to follow so if you like this go check it out!

I used just the coffee cup from the Stampin' Up! set called Pun Fun, colored it (not my best job I must say), layered it on some Berry Bliss paper, used a Purely Pomegranate belly band, highlighted it with a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen, and taadaa...it was done! An impressive looking gift card holder but so easy to make!

Today should bring some more time to stamp and I'm excited about that! We are to get up to 100 degrees today and 101 tomorrow so I imagine we'll have the water slide out today, too!

Have a super Saturday everyone!

and the girl...

In addition to the boy image Bela sent me she also sent me a cutie girl image too. I just love this little girl. Her expression and body language scream CUTE!!! Anyway, same thing again today. She was colored with COPICS and everything else I got from Bela!

I did a ton of stamping (okay kinda...only actually one stamp on each of the 8 cards) last night. I used another SheetLoad of Cards layout and made thank yous for the station leaders at VBS. The youth workers had been getting something each morning from my co-director so I thought at least a hand made card with a personal thank you would be appropriate for the adults. I"ll show you those soon. I also made a super cute (well...kinda...I don't love one of my elements) gift card holder for one of the helpers as she has just worked her little patootie off for VBS this year. Anyway, that will be coming soon too!

So today is the last day of VBS. I'm happy but not at the same time as I know the kids love it. Tear down is very easy to do and will literally take only about 15 minutes this afternoon. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep in tomorrow...yay!

It looks like Christi is the only person to have done something nice for someone else yesterday and comment to me about it so I'll get that card in the mail to you!

I hope you all have a great Friday! See you later!

love his hair!

Some time back my blogging friend, Bela, send me a couple of card kits. I received an image, paper, Prima's, and some ribbon. I finally sat down and made the cards the other day and thought I'd show you how cute they are. I cannot remember who the manufacturer of the stamp is but this little guy's hair...it just kills me! The stamped ink was not COPIC marker safe and I made a mistake of using the blender pen too much in one area so I colored the other image Bela sent and cut out the marble bag, attached it on a dimensional, aaannd I hope it looks okay now. I wasn't exactly sure what sentiment was best for this so I went with a simple..."hello".

Did anyone take advantage of the free shipping from Stamping Bela yet? I'd love to hear what neat new goodies you've gotten!

Let's do a little challenge today...go out...do something nice for someone else today (here is the kicker...without them knowing)...tell me what it was here...and I'll send one of you a little something in the mail...along with this cute card!

So...go! Have a terrific day and do something nice for someone else!

pizza box and an rak

So sorry about being absent yesterday! I was going to post the RAK that I got the other day but my internet connection was not working and I had to leave the house. Then by the afternoon...I'd forgotten. Go figure! So today you get the RAK and the pizza box.

I found directions for the pizza box on Jenn's blog (notice me use her name like I know her...ha! I wish!). Anyway, I've had this other piece of American Crafts paper sitting around for awhile so I thought I'd put it to good use along with my High Hopes monkey. I haven't determined what I'll do with this quite yet but won't it make a super cute presentation box for someone?

Then, here is the super cute Bella RAK I got from Pam Gaynor. Do you not love it!? I haven't gotten an RAK in awhile...but then again I haven't sent one in awhile so please don't think I'm complaining 'cuz I'm not. The colors are so happy and I just love the iPodabella...okay I love almost all the Bella stamps! Oh, I think Em is having a sale today (for her birthday)...yep! I just went and looked. Free shipping on orders over $45! Yay...that saves us USAers a ton of money. The code is as follows....3b8d33. Just put that in the coupon section and taadaa..free shipping. Em does say that if for some reason it doesn't work to put a comment in the comment section and she promises that they will refund the shipping. Oh, and she says she is releasing new stamps today too so make sure you check out the store HERE.

So, does this post make up for missing yesterday's? Hope so! Now...I must run and get ready to get to VBS! Oh, I must tell you that we were planning 100 children at VBS this year but didn't come even close to having enough volunteers for that many children. Well, we have 51 children (which I'm okay with) AND God brought just the correct amount of volunteers on Monday! Yay! He is so faithful isn't he?

Anyway, have a wonderful Wednesday!

more scrapbook pages

Here is another set of pages that I did in my grandpa's scrapbook. The page on the left shows three pictures he had of himself from the 40's while in the Navy. He told me that he has more pictures but that my aunt has them (now why would she keep them? grrr! don't ask...long story) so I made due with what I had. The US Navy at the top I got from Joanne's online and it is an actual picture of water that was laser cut into the shape you see. It is actually really neat!

On the right is the flyer that was given to the guys that talks about who Honor Tour is and what they do. The flyer had received some damage so I decided to get it in there right away. Anyway, I matted the flyer in blue and put the dates of the tour and a couple of stickers on the side for decoration. That's it!

I started working on a "pizza box" yesterday but I didn't finish it up so hopefully this afternoon I won't be too tired and will get it done today. I did get a ton of images stamped up for a couple of my friends though. I bet that will make them happy!

Vacation Bible School starts today so I could possible miss a day or two of posts. Forgive me ahead of time please. Please pray for good attendance, happy children, and a great week glorifying God.

Make it a marvelous Monday everyone!

it's a new day

Good Sunday Morning everyone! Today is a new day and, thankfully, I am feeling a little better today. Good thing 'cuz I've got tons of stuff to do after laying around for two days! I am kind of curious as to how I'm going to make my announcements at church with my "man voice" (as Courtney likes to call it...lol!) though. Giggle 3

While we were in Iowa we had the pleasure of going to my grandma Fern's cousin's farm for a little fun. I lived in the country as a kid but not on a farm so it is always fun to go and do that kind of stuff. Well, Marvin and Jean have a couple of horses and Marvin was nice enough to bring them up from the pasture and get one of them all hooked up to a wagon for Kyler to get to ride in and eventually drive. Then, Marvin got the saddle out and let Kyler ride the horse too. Very exciting for him! Oh, and we got to eat strawberries right out of the garden...YUM!!! Anyway, before I left I made sure to get their address so I could send a thank you card. As I was visiting SCS the other day I saw the Wednesday Tutorial which is called a Pullout Scrapbook and knew I had to make one of them for Mavin and Jean as a thank you because Marvin pulled out the photo album while we were there so I know they love pictures of their farm activities. I also took a picture of their barn that I think it fair worthy so I may be entering that into the fair this coming August.

I also knew I had the perfect Simply Scrappin' Kit from SU! for it called Round Up. And, to top it all off I had this wonderful horse image from the swap I hosted here on my blog! Couldn't be more perfect could it? It is a Pullout Scrapbook because you untie the ribbons and the brown paper, which is 12" long and has been scored, pulls out to the left/right. I'll put pictures that I've ordered on some of the pages and some die cuts on the others. So, whatcha think? A pretty ingenious scrapbook, huh? So wish my brain could come up with stuff like that!

Oh, and I'm kinda excited today because for the first time in months I might get to go to church with my husband! Woohoo! The shift that he has been working (forever it seems like) has had him home at 6 a.m. on Sunday so he hasn't been able to make it but yesterday he worked an earlier shift and came home at 2 a.m. Sooo...maybe, just maybe he'll be up in time to go. Yay!

Thank you so much everyone for your well wishes! Now, off for some breakfast. Have a super Sunday!
