light of the world

Okay, so this is the card I almost quit stamping over. Yep, that is right...almost quit. So here is what I'm going to suggest...tell me you like it whether or not you do. No...I'm just kidding tell me you like it if you do. It is aways okay to be honest. But, wow! I struggled with this one! I was making a card for a guy and the first one turned out to feminine...annoying, right? Then this one...this one kept alluding me as to what I should do with it. I used a Mojo Monday challenge for the layout. It is hard to see in this photo but there is blue in the patterned paper. Ack! Do you feel my frustration coming through the post? So, should I go back to the drawing board? ***I totally forgot to tell you that the light house is from the Light of the World set from Our Daily Bread Designs***

Tomorrow I get my 2nd Stampin' Up! order and with it I will be receiving the new Big Shot. The Big Shot is a embossing/cutting machine similar to but larger than the Cuttlebug. It will be available for purchase Sept 2nd and you can see a brochure about the Big Shot and accessories HERE. I had been considering a bigger embossing cutting machine for sometime before this came out so I knew I had to have it when SU! announced at convention that they would be carrying their own SU! branded version of the Big Shot (which is the same a the others on the market only with the SU! logo). Cool thing is that SU! will have dies that are exclusive to SU! Yep, you'll only be able to get some dies from SU! so keep your eyes open! More about this machine later...I'm sure!

Alright, ladies. I hope you have a super Sunday! Angelic Get lots of stamping done...I know I have about three birthday cards to make!

Well....I like it! It's a nice masculine card with fall colors. I {heart} that BG paper!

I do not need a Big Shot. I do not need a Big Shot. I do not need a Big Shot.... Think it will work? ;)

This is lovely. I was just chatting with someone and said I was using these two BG papers. And she pointed me over here.

You've made a gorgeous card and all the hard work shows thru:-)

The card is real nice, honestly, IMO, you should switched the red scalloped circle with dark brown. It doesn't look feminine at all. Also, I have a Big Shot and I LOVE IT!!! I got it because nearly every other dies will fit with one machine - how sweet is that???

Thanks for sharing!

It's beautiful, Lorie. I feel your pain. I'll be posting one tomorrow that is a hot mess but I'm patting myself on the back for not trashing it altogether. I'm getting better at seeing my bad cards through to the end. We can't win 'em all, right? (well...you did with this one!) ;)

Ok, you really want my honest opinion? Really? Honestly, I think it's one of the best cards you've ever made. I am thoroughly impressed, and I absolutely love it! It's so pretty. Way to go!

When I first saw this on my google reader... my eyes widened a bit and I sucked in a breath... because it is just wonderful! I wouldn't change a thing about it, I'd frame it and hang it in a beach house!

HUGS!

We are always our own worst critic. I really like the designer paper you used and the lighthouse. I believe the card is very masculine. Since you asked, the one change I might have made is that the blue scallop at the bottom and the scallop circle be the same color. I really prefer the blue over the red. TFS.

You're too funny! Ironic how we seem to get way more comments on the cards we aren't quite so happy with or like you said "struggled with" than the ones we love and are so proud of?? - Go figure! Lol. Well, I REALLY do love this one, from your great papers to the ribbon and stamp. And just for the record... my boss (a male pastor) actually likes beautiful things like flowers and trees on cards, etc. ;)
