Out on a Limb Thank You Card

So...this is the two hour thank you card. I have rarely been so frustrated while stamping a card as I was yesterday. Want to hear my comedy of errors? Okay...here goes. First, I stamped the limb and flower 6 different times...then, I placed the polka dot paper and realized I didn't like it and wanted to cut more off but it was too stuck to the card stock so I had to start over with a new base. Next was the liquid pearl in the middle of the flowers wasn't dry and I put it down upside down so it got smudged. Finally, the scallops. I cut the length wrong twice (the old adage measure twice cut once...yeah...didn't do that). Instead of the paper piercing I was going to use liquid pearl dots and I managed to smudge one of those too. So, I had to take the ribbon off, remove the old scallop and then make a new scallop and paper pierce it. Whew, girls...that was a lot of work! Do you think it was worth my frustration? the card is for the dentist office that saw Kyler after his accident. They were so kind and caring I wanted to make sure they knew that I appreciated it. Kyler wants to make them a little something too so he'll do that this weekend and we'll take the cards to them on Monday. I'm thinking some chocolate may be in order for them too so we'll see! :o)

A couple of you have asked how Kyler is doing. He is doing well. He went back to school the next day with instructions for no outside recess or PE participation. He is still having pain but Tylenol works for it for about 3 hours. I've just been giving it to him for that time period. We did call the dentist to make sure it was okay and he reiterated that his mouth is pretty messed up and that yesterday was supposed to be the worst day for pain which it was as Kyler woke up and the first thing he said was how much his mouth hurt. But, today is a new day and I'm about to go get him up so we'll see how it goes. Thank you so much for your concern...it means a lot to me and him!

I hope you all have a great Thursday! If you have any stories about a frustrating card...please share them so I don't feel like such a dork. Sorry but y'all need to join me on this one! LOL!

This card is stunning. Totally worth it!
Want to hear my card story- last weekend I wasted an entire sheet of polka-dot paper trying to get it cut straight. Couldn't figure out why the dots weren't straight. Ummmm, yeah. The paper was printed crooked. I just had to tilt it a bit and it was fine!

Hope the mouth continues to improve!

I think this happens more frequently than I would like to admit! :) (ALL THE TIME!) I am not sure I can pick just one instance, but I have learned....don't glue anything down until you are REALLY sure! So I lay out my whole card and make sure I like it, then attach it all together! :)

Beatuiful card! I just spent half an hour trying to remember how to thread my sewing machine. Pulled out the book... scratched my head... tried again and again and still no luck. Then I realized it said to pull the string towards me... worked like a charm! Duh.

Then I sewed on my first card! I'm so excited!

Hugs to you and Kyler!

Okay I am a DORK too....why not here it is, you asked for it. I cut the circle to a peek a boo card right through the back and then I did it again, not once but three times LOL...Wasted a ton of cardstock...I just couldn't get the brain to do what the hands wanted to. You are too funny. Glad you know you son is healing and back to school. Take care, all the best,
Bela

I LOVE the final outcome of your card. I have to take some comfort that an expert card maker does the same things I do - just less frequently. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes I think the experts never make the dumb mistakes I seem to do so often.

Ha! I have had cards just like that! But it is better to take more time and do things over than to settle and never be happy with the end results!
So glad Kyle is doing better, sounds extremely painful!

I also forgot to mention how much I love this stamp set! One day I will own it, but my budget can't afford all the bellas I buy AND PTI stamps. :) For now, I will just admire your creations. :)
