3 Challenges in 1!

Happy Friday all! I'm so happy to be at the end of the week. I'm SO sleeping in tomorrow...lol! Today I'm posting a card for a couple of different challenges...read on to find out more...

I'm so excited about today's card. First of all it came together very quickly and best of all...I love it! So, the first challenge is the challenge I'm doing with my friend, Tana. It is the Clearing the Clutter Challenge (we've decided that we will be doing this challenge just once a month on the first Friday). This cutie card was made with an old SU! scrapbook kit Friends and Flowers. All of the elements on this card except the pearls, twine, and the digi image are from the kit. It is so nice to have things be all matchy and ready to go!

The second challenge this is for is the Doodle Pantry challenge for this week. All you have to do for this challenge is to use a Doodle Pantry image! I love that because I got to choose one digi (up to $3) for free when I was in the top three for their last challenge. I chose the Everyday Birdies for my winnings and used a cutie bird AND sentiment from the set. Super cute, huh?

And finally, this card is made with the last Sketches by Carly sketch for 2010. Whew! that was a lot of challenges...for me at least. I hope that you like this card as much as I do. I can't wait to send it out to its recipient!

So...yesterday my niece texted me a scripture verse that she had run across when she was reading the Bible. It is: "Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle." Psalm 144:1. As you may know my son hurt a couple of his fingers at work about a month and a half ago and this verse is absolutely perfect! See? Even when we can't see it God has everything under control for us!

Well, that is it for today! Have a wonderful Friday!

Hey Sweet Thang

Good morning friends! Welcome to my first official, official post with McMahon 5 Designs! I absolutely love this week's releases and I know you will too. I think you will find that the best part of these weekly posts will be that you get to see everything that is being released AND some beautiful artwork from some of the designers! Isn't that just fabulous? (I know you are shaking your head yes!)

You can see my card to the right as well as in with all the other wonderful artwork! It is made with the super cute Hey Sweet Thang release. All I needed to do is print out the image and patterned papers and I was all set to create. Easy, huh? And I almost forgot...the card sketch is from The Sweet Stop for this week. Fitting, right?

So...grab your cup o' joe, sit back and enjoy all the crafty goodness!

Forever In Our Hearts

And, here we slide into mid-week! This week is just one of those where I've had something nearly everyday so and it isn't slowing down. I do love it though!

Today's card is special. I made it for my friend Nancy. I didn't really want to make a sympathy card but I did feel I needed to make something so I compromised with a "forever in our hearts" card. The beautiful dogwood patterned paper is from the Curio paper pack by Basic Grey. Isn't it just gorgeous? The card layout is from the Verve Stamps: Viva la Verve! challenge for this week. The wonderful sentiment is from Verve and the butterfly came from a emblosslit. I placed a vanilla color piece of cardstock inside, sponged some cameo coral around the edges, and then placed another butterfly inside. The color of the patterned paper is really a coral type of color. I will also enter this into the Paper Sundaes challenge which is something new. Both the patterned paper and the sentiment is new to me on this card. Please note you can click on the card to get a better look at it.

I'm truly hoping that this will be a soothing card for her. I'm also hoping that God will help me put words inside that will soothe her heart a little.

On to some fun news! I made the Top 3 at Doodle Pantry Digital Doodles Blog! The challenge was to make something that either represented new or with something new. I made THIS card and entered it in the contest. I am absolutely honored to have been chosen as a top three! I now get to put the super cute badge on my blog! Fun!

Okay, I'm sure you've read just about as much as you can on my blog for today so I guess I'll stop typing now. Have a super fantastic day! See ya tomorrow with my very first, official post for McMahon 5 Designs!

Last Two...

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a really good Monday. Mine was really busy but quite fruitful so that was nice. Last night was my first Deacons meeting at church. I think I'm going to like being part of this group. Deacons are all about the spiritual pulse of the church so we do things such as visit those in the hospital/nursing home, send cards, and pray for those that are sick or just plain would like prayer. All things that I enjoy doing. And, they are a fun, diverse group of people!

Today, because my time was filled with other things yesterday, I'm going to show you the last notepad holder and note holder that I made for Christmas. The notepad holder that I'm showing you today was one that I made for my niece. I love the paper and how the placement worked with the butterfly and flower...perfect! The colors are a bit off but pink and yellow are always a favorite of mine.

The note holder is made with some PTI patterned paper and frankly, I really like this one too. The soothing yellow and brown of this are just so nice to look at and that scripture...one of my favorites. I still have three of the note holders sitting in my craft room but literally just this moment I decided who they were going to go to. Yay! I don't like to make stuff and then have them just sit so I'm thrilled to have thought of who they would be perfect for!

Today is shaping up to be a pretty busy one too so I should probably get scooting. For some reason I keep thinking of this...Joy For The Journey. It is the sentiment on one of the note holders that I showed you earlier. I think I'm going to dig into my Bible and see what it tells me about joy in my journey.

Have a wonderful day you guys!Smiley from millan.net

Whatnot Monday

Well, good morning friends! Welcome to my very first, official, post with the Paper Pretties Digi Design Team! It is called Whatnot Monday!

Each Monday you will see a creation from myself and the other DT members with a super cute image illustrated by Artish. This week I got to work with Drakein the Dragon. This cute dragon comes with the empty sign for you to display whatever you'd like for a sentiment and several super cute shapes of "smoke." As you can tell I decided to make my card into an "I love you" card with a masculine theme. Sorry about the dark photo...I have been having a heck of a time getting into my craft room when the sun is actually shining. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's (shocking, I know) Offbeat pad. I added the xoxo in orange and I think it will be perfect for one of my boys!

Now...be sure to head on over to the Paper Pretties Blog to see all of the new images and design team members creations! And, while your there you can pick up the FREE digi image called Gelasius Giraffe! He/She is ADORABLE!

Well, my very sweet friends...have a super Monday!
