So Happy!

Morning everyone! This will be a quick post today as by the time you read this I will be listening to the author of The Shack speak. Obviously that means I'm typing this up Friday night so now you know why this will be short. Smile

I made this card real quick last night for a friend that is newly expecting. I'm just so thrilled for her...she is such a good mommy to her cutie patootie almost two year old daughter! This card combines A Muse Stamps and a SU! Stamp. When I ordered my new release A Muse stamps I also ordered the Pregnant Lady (they must be out of this one...I can't find it for ya) and the Lots of Flowers Background stamp that you see. The sentiment is from the SU! set Nursery Necessities. To offset the very light cardstock I used black cardstock and black gingham ribbon to finish off the card. I'm really pleased with how this came out.

Alright...I must head to bed...I hope you have a wonderful Saturday! I'll be back tomorrow with a Sister's Challenge...although I don't have a sister I've been accepted as a sister for this challenge and I'm SO excited! So, with that...night/have a great day!

No crafting today...

Nothing new in the crafting arena today but I just wanted to share a blog post from the Women to Women blog. The basic premise of the post is...what is the best "candy" you could ever receive? Go HERE to read the whole thing. Once you've done that you can navigate HERE to see what blog candy there is to enter.

Enjoy your two stops today...I know I did!

Cute Monkey!

Eek! What a fun day it is today! Today is three fun things for me...today I volunteer at Care Net, today is the limeLIGHT big project for August reveal AND limeLIGHT sketch and product challenge. Whew...that is a lot of neato stuff in one day! I know you must wonder why I enjoy Care Net so much and I thought I'd try to explain today. Where else can you go that they look forward to you coming in and need your help, that people are there to teach you and are gentle with correction, and most importantly they live their personal and work lives for the good of our Lord? Yep, that is the environment that I work in on Thursday 11-3. It is a a refreshing like none other!

Now...onto limeLIGHT Papercrafts challenges for the day. First I want to show off the August big project and the theme which is back to school. When I heard this is what we were going to do I was so excited! I love to make things for the boys (mostly Kyler as he's the only one that lets me anymore) for school so...here it is! I made a fun little bag for Kyler to carry some of his supplies in to the first day of school. While I'm not sure it is especially necessary for Kyler I can also use it as a bag for a first day of school gift for the teacher. I used the Stampendous Chantigo in Space set along with October Afternoon's Road Map patterned paper. The sentiment I made on my computer. limeLIGHT also sells some letters HERE. Isn't it wonderful? You could fit a bunch of supplies in this bag for sure!

Now...the sketch and product challenge for today is the card below. I, again, used the Chantigo in Space set with Road Map patterned paper. This time I added a Road Maps shapes piece for the sentiment. Now...the product challenge is paint so...See the yellow sparkle and shimmer around the rocket image? Yep, that is Shimmerz in Sunny! Just the perfect touch! Now the details of the sketch and product challenge...

The Details:
**Use the sketch found HERE and dress it up with PAINT!! Shimmerz, watercolors, craft paint...whatever ya got!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC027

Uniquely You!

Morning everyone! What do you think about all the CHA and Stampin' Up! Convention news that everyone has out there? It sure is an exciting time, isn't it?

Alright, onto the card! Today I used the Stamping 411 sketch for this week to make my wild and crazy (kind of guy...remember that movie?) card. Once again I had my box of current stamp sets out and the sentiment is what caught my eye this time. I decided to work around what being myself (or yourself) means. You know, sometimes that means being a little different and that is okay. So...my grasshopper is Melon Mambo instead of green and my paper combination is definitely bright and kinda crazy!

Enough of my babbling! I have some fun news for you guys! I have a Convention Buddy. A Convention Buddy is a wonderful person who is headed to convention that will call/text/e-mail news about the convention as well as shop at the Momento Mall for you. My buddy's name is Sarah and she is just SO excited to be going and I'm excited I get to feel like I'm at the convention when I'm not able to be there! Tomorrow morning she gets to go into the Momento Mall and do some shopping...she'll be getting me some good stuff too...so excited! I'll probably post a little later tomorrow so I can give you guys some news if I have it!

Finally, I must tell you about Mandy's sale at limeLIGHT Papercrafts this week! This week the June Bug and Lemonade Make Me A Favor kits are on sale for just $5 each! I'll be purchasing a kit to use as 1st day of school favors for teachers and staff at my son's school. Also, all Colorbox Cat's Eyes are $1 and finally purchase $25 or more and you get to choose one free jar of Shimmerz! Just add what color you'd like on the comments line during check out!

On the agenda for this week...convention news hopefully tomorrow, Thursday is limeLIGHT's sketch and product challenge as well as our "big" project reveal for August. I can't wait to show you what I've made. The theme is back to school so you know you'll want to check out all the DT member's blogs for fun ideas!

Phew that was a lot of reading for you wasn't it! Are you glad to know I'm done typing now? Go, have a super day! Get some crafting in if you can!

Aloha!

Morning stampers! Did you have a wonderful weekend? Mine was nice...quiet...ahhh!

I actually got two cards made yesterday and one was with my brand new Aloha Sophia stamp! Isn't she adorable? She is July's Stamp of the Month from Paper Pretties. I was able to combine about three challenges on this card, fun huh? First, I used last weeks Lunch Time Sketch from Techno Stamper. Then, I used two challenges from Paper Pretties. This week's challenge is a color challenge which is yellow, turquoise, and another color of my choice which would be the pink. Also, there was a new stamp release for which they had a challenge of the only embellishment that could be used is buttons. So, if you can believe it I didn't use any ribbon, only a couple of buttons on the bottom by the sentiment. What do you think? A good combination of challenges?

So...we are off for some shopping today so I must get a move on and exercise before we leave!

Have a happy day everyone!

Winner, winner chicken dinner...

Good morning friends! Today is the day we get to find out the winner of my Inspiration Challenge from last Wednesday. I won't make you wait forever. The winner is...Liz! I posted her photo for you all to see. Isn't it lovely! The flowers are so bright and cheery...a perfect thank you card! Congrats Liz! If you could just e-mail me with your snail mail address so I can pass it onto Mandy I'd appreciate it. What is funny is that her daughter won my last little contest. Great stamping runs in the family I guess!

There you have it! I hope you'll play along again next time there is a little challenge and I'll see ya tomorrow!
